im a lvl 50 wp/ss tank, fully IO'd out and my gf is a spines/fire scrapper. we are thinkin of doing the posi tf together and i wanted to know if u all had any suggestions for us.
we grabbed ourselves some shivans, a nuke (bio one), and currently doing flashback mishs to get some temp powers / toggle shields to help us.
[/ QUOTE ]
Way overkill. I solo this, set for a team of 2 or 3, on my scrapper. The only thing I need to bring with me are Break Frees, since I don't get my mez protection until level 16. -
[ QUOTE ]
Do you seriously think new players to the game who use AE would stick around anyway? If they get bored from getting a 50 and not learning how to use it or even trying ( let's be honest - cox does not have the biggest learning curve compared to other mmos)...
Then they are not staying. Find me one person who says "oh I tried that it was too easy to level so I left" The reason they do it is because they don't want to do the content...they dont' care about it..so it's not going to keep them. Nothing will..
[/ QUOTE ]
You're mistaken. Your entire premise is based on players CHOOSING to play one way or another. The problem is that many new players find AE because it's right there in Atlas and on broadcast and they never see other parts of the game. They don't even know most of the game exists. If they don't like AE, they leave because they think AE is the game. -

Most people who don't have a Miracle +Recovery also don't have an AV-soloing purpled out build.
Just sayin'.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't need anything purple. Anyone can do it with something green. The green blobby guys from Bloody Bay.

Whether or not any powers ever get alternate animations has nothing to do with luck. I've never personally been against the idea of having alternate power animations, quite the opposite. We've simply lacked the tech to do that and the time to create said animations.
[/ QUOTE ]
Funny how you say that in past tense. It's almost as if your subconcious was screaming that you now have the tech and the time and that we may see this in I16 along with color customization.

My subconscious is currently eating pretzels. I'm not sure if this is significant. -

You can't tell me there is a normal way to earn leader and empath even with the reduced amount.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, by definition and game mechanics, there is ONLY a normal way to earn Leader. There used to be ways to AFK farm enemies for influence/xp but not in a long time. At least not that I'm aware of.
Empath... yeah, that's still pretty much impossible for all intents and purposes, even for a busy empathy defender. Is it THEORETICALLY possible? Sure. But, as far as we know, no one has done it the 'normal way' yet. -
[ QUOTE ]
why should people with second accounts get the privilege of trading inf but not players with one account?
if the fact they are paying more money is the only reason then thats sad.
[/ QUOTE ]
(shrug) No one cares if you call it "sad". A customer who pays more gets better treatments. That's reality. Look at 'frequent flier' and 'preferred customer' programs.
You must be angry every day with all these 'double standards' everywhere you turn. -

If you have Karnak(Karchak, Karshak, Cashew, Kleenex, whatever his name is) unlocked already you can go back at any point and run it. You don't have to stay at level 15.
[/ QUOTE ]
Talshak the Mystic.
Also, please note that you don't need to unlock him before you outlevel him. You can always go back and do the final Hollows arc via Ouroboros and that will unlock the trial contact (Karsis), even if you are already level 50.
Using Ouroboros, you can also unlock Ernesto Hess and Katie Hannon after outleveling them. -
[ QUOTE ]
Just because you are on their server friends list does not mean they can tell where you are. If you /gignore them they can send you tells all day, but cannot find you unless they actually see you somewhere.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course if they see the name on their friend list, they can just do a search on the name and it will tell them what zone the person is in. Of course hiding, which was already suggested, gets around that. -
People are still doing it but there's no reason to sit at level 15. It will auto-exemp if you are anywhere from 16 to 50.

One problem... the motherboard started beeping "Dixieland" (no lie.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that would be an audio alert that your CPU (the 'brain' of the computer) is overheating because you took off its cooling fan. Historically, doing that would FRY the CPU and possibly the entire motherboard. Newer CPU's will generally shut down without damaging anything. Or so I hear - I sure as hell would never try it.
You need to buy a replacement fan. If you were able to take it off and replace it, you can certainly install a new one. In the meantime, don't run the computer without that fan installed. -
[ QUOTE ]
And what if this should continue to happen with my game discs when I don't have the luxury of downloading a client online?
[/ QUOTE ]
You could always buy a new copy of the game. If you buy the Architect Edition, you get one free month (value $15) and a free 'booster pack' (value $10). It will cost you about $20. -
Yes, and a fix is already on the test server.

I hope to see everyone next week! Are we still going to be doing anything with all the Rikti 'porting in?
[/ QUOTE ]
Surely. We can undertake some task vital to the city's security and beat down the Rikti on our smoke breaks. -

People that farm for pvp badges are the ultimate gaming lowlife. Earn it the hard way or don't wear the badge. Sorry, Carebears sporting pvp badges they farmed irks me more than the "girl" that takes a handout based on gender in game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? My view is a bit different. I think that people who do 'blanket put-downs' of an entire sector of the playerbase are the real lowlifes.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to be redundant apparantly. I have an objection to players that farm pvp badges. That is my opinion and after 5 years of play I highly doubt MY opinion will change. I don't care what other badges people farm .Have at it and a good time to all hunting badges!! I made no "blanket statement" against badging or badgers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Certainly you did. I didn't say you made a statement against "all badgers", but you most certainly did make a blanket statement about a large group of players. That's all I was saying.
Apparently, I need to be redundant too. I was expressing MY OPINION . . . regarding your attitude. Object to certain behavior all you like. But when you start calling people names on the forums, you're just being ill-mannered. -

A) Run radio missions until you get a safeguard. Once you run a safeguard, the detective will offer you a contact in the debriefing.

If you had read more carefully, you would have seen that he already did that and the detective told him to go talk to the Studio Manager. -

this just all goes back to the continuing argument and bad attitude towards solo players that they do not deserve to have the same conveniences that others get.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I haven't seen anyone demonstrating a bad attitude toward soloers. However, I have noticed that people don't have a lot of sympathy for people with a sense of entitlement and the attitude that their $15 per month puts them in a position to dictate to the devs.
Choose to solo or not. But, after you've made your decision, don't come here and whine about the SELF-IMPOSED inconveniences you have to put up with. -

um, I think by "Where exactly are you going?", Zloth meant what URL are you going to? -

its still a double standard. here is the definition of double standard -
A double standard is an instance in which certain applications are perceived as acceptable to be used by one group of people, but are (unjustifiably) considered unacceptabletaboowhen used by another group. A double standard, thus, can be described as a sort of biased, morally unfair suspension (toward a certain group, such as solo players) of the principle that all are equal in their freedoms ( to transfer inf between characters
)
[/ QUOTE ]
Total B.S.
You are not discriminated against in any way. You have exactly the same options available to you as everyone else in the game (who is not on a trial account).
IN YOUR OWN WORDS: "But i dont play this game to make online friends, and supergroups dont fit my playstyle. "
You *CHOOSE* to play in a certain manner and avoid making friends and joining groups. Suck it up and accept the consequences of your own choices. You're hindered in transferring influence because of YOUR decisions, not the Devs'. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
its this double standard that bugs me. if players in supergroups can do it easily, then solo players should have an easy method also.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not a double standard at all. The practice is 'frowned upon' by the devs so there are no systems to facilitate it. Solo players can't start task forces, either. This is not a first person shooter. This game is built around cooperation and teaming. Most of it CAN be soloed, but it's not designed as a solo game so the soloist has some extra hoops to jump through and some things are difficult or even impossible.
[/ QUOTE ]
it is a double standard. if the devs "frown" upon it and dont want us to transfer inf between characters, then no one should be able to do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it's NOT a double standard. The devs don't like it so they're not going to make it easy. However, multiple players working in conjunction can easily get around it. Just like multiple players working together can get a big base in X amount of time and a soloer can't. The functionality can't be removed without seriously crippling game play for most of the playerbase so that's not going to happen.
The game is designed around teams, groups and communities. It's fine that you choose to solo but you also choose to forego the advantages of being part of a group. -
I both send and receive emails on a regular basis. A lot of them are to/from an SG member who moved (to Japan) so time zones have become an issue. Also, a different SG member wanted a copy of my bio (I think for an MA arc) so I emailed that just last night.
