Listing it at 5K had ZERO impact on your profit. If it sells for 50 million, the market takes a cut of 5 million. Your listing fee is taken into account and the final deduction adjusted accordingly. If it sells for 50, the market gets 5 - no matter what price you listed it at.

Is it post count that makes your rating worth more, or your current rep, or some combination thereof? Has anyone figured this out?

Quote:We should all have positive rep which gradually increases over time. That way, we can all be special! This system should be made so that rep can only ever be given positively as giving negative rep is basically a way of saying "You suck", only within the rules of the board.

Quote:No, it's an out of date concept that was wrong to begin with. SOME customers are genuinely a drain on your business and a company is better off without them. Most customers are worth fighting to keep - a handful most emphatically are NOT.The customer is always right is an axiom used by those who understand that they are depending on other people for their livelihood. Failing to understand this is why I assume your management experience is in the past tense.
Sometimes a company needs to 'fire' a customer and, depending on the exact circumstances, it can be a wise and prudent business decision. -
Quote:with dividends calculated after Monday maintenance ends, so that I can hand out the money from weekend sales.I think there's an issue of scale here. Even for someone without a great deal of influence, weekly payouts from an initial investment of 1 million influence seems like a bit of a nuisance for a relatively small sum.Quote:
I think a good plan would be a fixed amount of 1m influence per player, no more no less.
I don't know if you're already run some numbers, but maybe you should go 5+ million and semi-weekly?
P.S. I have a relatively poor toon on Virtue so I may be interested. I'll be watching this thread. -
Quote:This is why I craft them IMMEDIATELY. You can't accidentally vendor a crafted IO (and you'll get a higher price for it anyway).I got a Hecatomb: Rech/Acc drop friday night. Saturday morning I was half asleep and accidentally vendored it.
I had a couple sitting around for over a month 'in case I needed them'. I decided that prices were so crazy I might as well sell and got 380mill for two IO's. -
Quote:Yes it is, right in the middle of the picture. The arcane Slow Field generator is *TINY*.Areyu, did you use the tech version or arcane? I made an arcane slow field in response to having an arcane looking base, but the marker for the center of the slow field is visibly floating in the middle. Any way to avoid that? I noticed in your pic it wasn't visible.
(And it only cover one 'square' of the base.) -

Quote:To which plenty of people immediately replied: we would be delighted to be able to walk forward only. The flypose emotes have similar restrictions and we were thrilled to have them. Limited walking capability is infinitely superior to NO walking capability.I recall BAB making a comment on it a while back, something along the lines of it being a lot more work than you'd imagine to add walking for players. Part of the problem is that while there is a walk animation used by NPCs, there is only a "walk forward" animation, and players are able to strafe left and right, move backwards, and jump, none of which are accounted for by the current walking that NPCs do.

Yep. I have a shield/axe and that's what Taunt looks like.

Quote:There are two objectives: earning the two badges (for planting bombs and defeating the GM) and earning merits. With that being said, is there an ultimate objective in this or can there be an ultimate objective such as blowing up the ship or planting a certain number of bombs or is there no ultimate win and you just get Vanguard Merits? And as for these bombs, who can plant them or how can you plant them?
Planting bombs
On the top of the ship, in the 'trench' leading to the center, there are gratings along both sides. You need to smash through a grate, then click on the bomb in the small alcove behind it. The bombs have a long interrupt time so it helps to have super high defense or someone to distract the enemies - and a bunch of them spawn when you attack a grate.
When the bomb goes off, it will fire a cone attack starting from the alcove which does A LOT of damage. Therefore, it's common practice to yell BOMB on broadcast when you plant one so people can get out of the way (something like 100 ft away, or off to the side of the grate).
Each team can plant ONE bomb. It used to be possible to plant more than one if you had people click at about the same time - not sure if this is still possible. You want to plant as many bombs as possible because more bombs = more damage to the ship = the shield will be down longer = more time to earn merits. Planting bombs (I think at least 3) will summon the GM. Defeating him also extends the time the shield is down.
A few temporary powers, most of which are only moderately useful. The Vanguard HVAS (those giant robots standing outside the main base or in the 'Motor Pool') are really powerful.Quote:Second question: What can Vanguard Merits get me?
A boatload of costume parts, many of which are pretty darn nice.
A PERMANENT increase to the amount of salvage your character can carry. I believe it's called the 'Vanguard Storage Sack'.
Lots of info on this page at ParagonWiki and the pages to which it links. -
Quote:Not to rain on anyone's parade, but this is not the first time they've fixed it. I can't hazard a guess why, but it breaks pretty often.Wow,
I don't even know what to say. I really didn't expect you guys to fix it so fast.
Thanks for listening, and addressing the problem so swiftly!
Not as often as the character copy tool, though.

I believe we need a visit from TheFrog_EU. You can never have too many frogs.

Quote:My compliments. I've noticed that the newer versions have way more information jammed in there but still manage to be legible. As most of you all know, we normally only update the map pack once a new zone comes out or if we find errors in our maps. But since Blondeshell has been taking the time to update our printout maps and spicing them up with some extra details for everyone, we figured why not do it to the map pack as well.

Quote:What do they know? When Kirk is fighting Kahn and wants to make it a 3-dimensional fight, he orders the ship moved 10,000 meters on the negative Z axis. If you can't trust Admiral Kirk, who can you trust?Except every math or physics professor I've been taught by will tell you that Y is up/down, just like it is in-game

Had the exact same thing happen. Reset it and it happened again. When he spawns as an EB, he cons as an ally and is not a valid target - making the mission impossible to complete.

Quote:OMG! Now I got +rep with the message: "Here's a +rep to balance it out."ooo! I got a demerit linked from this thread with the note, "you are an ***!"
This is exciting!
The amusing part is that the +rep was worth way more than the -rep. As someone mentioned in another thread, it seems that rep is weighted. Supposedly a person with higher rep 'carries more weight'. -
I had an amusing encounter at the Black Market in Cap. About 1 in 10 of my characters are female and I was playing one of them. I had decided to use some of the magic costume items and the character is a tall redhead with the witch leather outfit and a full cape with the high collar.
So, some guy comes over and stands in front of me, moves off to the side a bit, walks around me. Then he sends a tell:
Him: nice outfit.
Me: Thanks. I just got the magic pack so I wanted to try the costume parts.
Him: It shows a lot of skin.
Me: Actually this version has the lace panels - there's another version that shows even more.
Him: Mind if I check out your back?
Me: As much as you can see. The cape is pretty much in the way.
Him: Do you have a costume without a cape.
Me: No, this is my only one with the magic costume parts.
Then I take my recipes and go over to the University to craft some stuff. I come back a few minutes later to get some more stuff and I see the same guy standing next to a different female toon. He is doing the same walk-around inspection. I send her a tell:
Me: Is he telling you how hot you look?
Her: LOL Yes! What a bozo!
So I walk over to him and start chaining the smack and slap emotes while berating him on local for chasing other women. Two OTHER female toons pipe up in local that he was hitting on them too. He leaves the area. I mention on local that I hadn't had the heart to tell him I was a male player. Half the crowd by the Market respond with "ROFL" or "LOL".

Rather than worry about the positioning, three of the portals are MARKED for the Chantry, Cascade Archipelago and Storm Place. The portal with no sign is the one that gives you access to the rest of Firebase Zulu by taking you outside the force field to another 'island' just a few hundred feet away.
