It sounds like you're simply not seeing that channel.
Do you still have two sections (upper and lower) in your chat window? This is in addition to the single-line section where you type.
If yes - you may be displaying the wrong tab. Is the CHAT tab selected? This is the tab that will normally display team and local text. If it's not selected, or it's missing, you won't see anything on those channels but you are still sending.
Also, do you have a chat tab? You may have deleted it (not hard to do).
Rather than give a detailed explanation of how to fix each different issue, let us know EXACTLY what your chat window looks like (how many sections, how many tabs on each and their names). Then we can tell you how to fix it (not hard at all, but not 'intuitive'). -
I guess, based on the responses, you should tell him about the AE Anonymous channel.... four times.

Quote:I'm curious. Why do people so often link to http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page rather than http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page?
I mean, it's CALLED ParagonWiki and that's the domain that TonyV actually owns. If it ever moves again, we have to go through the whole song and dance about correcting people all over again. Am I right? -
Quote:I'm one of them, and for a specific reason. Properly IO'ing a character is TIME-CONSUMING. And when I say "properly", I mean checking set bonuses, making sure I don't have too many (more than five) of a given type, calculating how it will affect my build, etc. I don't want to have to mess with it more than once. I wait until AT LEAST the mid 30's.1) In your opinion, is it wiser to sell low level salvage and recipes and stick to regular enhancements, or should I invest in basic IO's? Some say wait till 30-35 to do the IO's, but I'm not sure.
Oh, I would say an average time, for a randomly composed team, would be between 90 and 120 minutes for each. And when I say "randomly", I don't mean a pick-up group of total strangers. I mean people who have played together, but bringing whatever character they feel like.Quote:2) How long do the Imperious and Lady Grey task forces take?
2.b) Would a level 49 scrapper, who's 2 bars into 49, be able to make 50 by the end of one of these task forces?
As for getting 8 bars of XP at level 49, I would say probably not, assuming the task force is set to heroic and you're not clearing every map. -
Quote:Yeah, but so what? They were abusing the email system so it's being addressed. If they take their spam elsewhere, we'll deal with it there.Thing is, I'm not even an RMTer,and this stuff is obvious to me. If I were an RMTer and this is how I made my living, I promise that I'd be coming up with even more diabolical--and hard to report and stop--schemes to thwart the system and get my spam out.
If almost sounds as if you (and others) are saying that we should be afraid to take steps against the spammers because they'll get more annoying. Screw them! -
Not nothing. They have purged the names of lower level toons more than once. They decided that was the right course of action. Personally, given that trial accounts cap at 14, that seems like a logical breakpoint. I mean, you can get a character to level 6 in a matter of minutes. I think they could go higher than level 6 without alienating anyone.

For whatever reason, 'pets' and 'escorts' work differently. I don't know if it's intentional. It could well be that they made it that way to make your life difficulty when you have to escort someone. I've seen NPC's that could keep up with me no matter what I did and I've seen NPC's that would lose me if I turned on Sprint.

Quote:I'm curious, no story arcs that qualify on which characteristic? (juicy, content-driven or mostly soloable). I'm guessing the 'mostly soloable' part since you wrote "hah!" after that item.So for me to gear up in most MMORPGs is a bit of a challenge, unless there are some juicy, content-driven, mostly soloable (hah!) quests that I can take advantage of.
Sadly, CoX has no story arcs that qualify.
Since you say you solo 99% of the time, I would think you're playing a character suited to soloing, so why do you say the arcs are not soloable? There are ZERO arcs I have not been able to solo. (I've done every arc hero-side at least once.) -

Quote:No. When you are NOT in a mission, people will be SK'ed/exemped to the team leader. When you ARE in a mission, people will be SK'ed/exemped to the MISSION OWNER.Quick question. Will the ONLY way to get the badges for SKing now be to be a team leader? i HATE leading teams with a passion (i'll up and quit a team if someone hands me the star.) Am i now going to be FORCED to lead a team to get those badges?
So someone else can have the star and you'll get the SK badge credit if the team is doing your mission. -
Quote:This needs to be made simpler. Also, since people often exemp with the INTENT of not receiving XP, turning off XP earning should also be made easier (i.e. easier to FIND).Everyone (well not level 50's) get XP, even those characters that are exemplared. You can choose to go back to the old "extra Inf., no XP" way if you'd like, though, in Options.
Having to drill down through a huge list of menu items is too time-consuming.
Simple solution: I know we can switch in and out of SG mode from the command line. I believe we can do the same to turn XP earning on and off. If the old/new exemp choice can be done at the command line also, it will be easily accessible for the people that actually care about it without cluttering up the interface.
P.S. Overall, very nice. I would rate the OP as 85% awesome, 10% not yet clear on the details and 5% that I don't like. -

Quote:You seem to be confusing scarcity with demand. An item can be 'rare' and have a low price if no one wants it. An item can be 'common' and have a higher price if it's something that everyone feels they must have. There is a real need for review of what is " common" or " rare" and what the cost is of all of it.
Oh, never mind. You're just here to spout nonsense.Quote:It is also clear that the market is designed to benefit gold farmers at the expense of players .
Carry on. -
He also said 200 million. I checked yesterday and there were sales at 100 million in the past 5 transactions. (shrug)

i can haz useles post too?
Yeah, I can't understand why people feel compelled to announce their bids and/or sales. I could understand posting here if they wanted to sell something OUTSIDE of the market. -
You're welcome. That was a pretty simple issue.
I have a spreadsheet for all sort of CoH information. One page has the last time I paid rent for the SG's I run and it uses that information to calculate when the next payment is due and displays a list sorted by due date. That's a bit more complex.
-
Wherever you saw that, it's out of date (i.e. wrong). All plots have ZERO upkeep, regardless of size. Your upkeep is based ONLY on certain items *IN* the base (all 'workshop' items - storage, crafting, etc).
And the cost is dirt cheap. My SG is on . . . hm. 20x24 plot maybe? At any rate, our upkeep is 2900 prestige. -
Quote:On that basis, I guess it wasn't you that tagged this thread with "laminated chickens" and "banana hammocks".I'm starting a mission to tag threads with as helpful as I can think of tags. If enough of us start doing it, maybe they will become very useful. If not, well, we gave it a try

In my case, I noticed the issue the day after the patch and I have not applied that update yet anyway. Something changed in the CoH client in regard to memory usage.

Quote:I would think the -stealth debuff is to simulate the fact that it's much harder to sneak around when you have a non-stealthy person with you.I'm assuming this happens because the stealth portion of Shadow Fall hides me from the escorted person, but I consider it rather nonsensical, because escorting comes with a large -stealth debuff.
Doesn't it seem nonsensical that you could just turn invisible and stroll out, and no one would notice the completely visible person following you? -

If you open the channel listing in your friends display, the silenced people are marked with a square and the operators are marked with a star. You can just send a tell to an operator (if any are on).

Quote:Fixed that for you.EMT: "Oh, hey...that guy's running into the street. I guess I'll just let him do that, then patch him up after he gets hit by a car..."
You're right, he can play whatever he wants. But any civilized human being worth their salt would rather someone not get injured in the first place, if at all possible.
Of course, in a game, he should play however he damn well pleases. -
At 6 months, you get a costume item, which is applied automatically; and a costume change token, which would have to be claimed in the badge window. So half and half.
