Quote:Since you see fit to publicly slam your team, you should be aware that I had MULTIPLE people on the team tell me "There's someone I'm never teaming with again."Well, that was informative. I now have six names written down who I am NEVER teaming with again. I think that's a first - usually I get good people on my team.
Multiple experienced players approved of neither your actions nor your attitude. So far, you're fitting the classic definition of 'noob'. You THINK you know how things work and you're perfectly willing to criticize anyone who thinks differently.
Edit: Okay, and you subsequently posted this:
Okay, cool. I quote Confucius: "When you do not know a thing, to allow that you do not know it - this is knowledge."Quote:Yes, I am basically a noob. Started playing with a friend who just did farm missions, then he got banned for cheating, I learned basically nothing and I'm still flying by the seat of my pants. Saying I've got a LOT to learn is an understatement.
So, maybe ask for advice and/or follow someone who is knowledgeable about the tactics that work in THIS specific environment. Publicly ranting and criticizing the people who actually are knowledgeable is not the way to go. -
Quote:Dude, what are you babbling about? Oh, wait, sounds like real-life tactics, which have pretty much no applicability to this game. Unless in real life you have a 'Go To Hospital' button.Okay, in all seriousness, no offense intended, what exactly are you talking about? Everything I've ever learned is that battles are not won by standing around in a giant cluster, then jumping into another section without first clearing and securing an infil and exfil route, they're won by always moving forward, taking ground, laying down suppressive fire around the target and destroying the enemy.

Yes, please don't post without thinking. Your post REALLY looked like trolling to me, too. If your intent was otherwise, then your communication was not effective.

Quote:Sort of. It's been confirmed that it's not set in stone. As a security measure, you MIGHT not be able to make a 2nd purchase in 24 hours. On the other hand, some people have made as many as 3 purchase on the same card.I think there's a 24 hour cool off period per same credit card use.
I guess it's like when the TSA randomly flags you for a pat-down.

Negative on that. Last word from the devs is that the name purge policy is toons under level 6 on accounts inactive 90 days or more can be purged. Furthermore, they gave official notice that the script can be run AT ANY TIME, with NO WARNING.

You want interference? My wireless mouse freaks out while the microwave is on.

Quote:Too late.Haha its no problem, thanks a lot for looking at it, im gonna check out that link and see if it helps, maybe I can figure it out.

Let me know if those instructions help. I've subscribed to this thread so it will show up on my start page when there is a new post. -
Okay, you've lost your 'Chat' tab completely. Annoyingly, it's not that hard to accidentally right click and hit 'delete tab' while trying to do something else.
Let's see if I can do this from memory:
1. Right-click in the middle of the window and pick CREATE TAB.
2. Name the new tab 'Chat' (at the top center of the pop-up window).
3. You'll have a column on the right of 'Available Channels' you can add, and a column on the left that's empty.
4. Select and ADD the following channels (i.e. select it in the list on the left, then hit the Add button, then select the next and hit Add, etc):
Coalition
Emotes
Friends
Local
Private Messages
Super Group
Team
5. Hit the OK button.
6. Try left-clicking and dragging the new Chat tab halfway down toward the bottom of the chat window and release it and see if it 'sticks' there. If not, try right-clicking it and there should be an option 'Move To Bottom'.
7. Success?
I don't have a list with me of all the channels that should be on the Chat tab (I have the list on another computer) but I think I got all the important ones. -
Okay, this image on ParagonWiki.com shows you a chat window. The window depicted has been customized with some extra tabs. If you want to read a lot of useful info about the chat window, go to this page on the same site.
What I'm calling the "top section" has 5 tabs: Global, Combat, TW, Hami, Help.
The "bottom section" has 3 tabs: Chat, ISO, Mkt.
You should have a 'top section' with Global, Combat and Help tabs (at least).
You should have a 'bottom section' with Chat.... a single tab on the bottom might be the default. I customized my chat window years ago so I'm not sure.
So, compared to the image I linked, what does your chat window look like?
Edit: I'm an idiot - you included a link. One moment while I check it out and do some research. -
Quote:I gather you're referring to me.Uh well gee, I think I know of a few and I'm surprised that er, someone who posted on here didn't say something. But then again, perhaps that someone is rather modest? Hmm?
All but three of my alts (2 Taxi's and 1 Villy) are in these SG's, which are all run by one fantabulous hero!
Say the word, and I'll say the word...
While we do fit the description from the OP ("non-farming mostly task force/non-AE oriented active supergroups on Infinity"), the situation ("A hero asked me...") is awfully close to the the random person in Atlas Park broadcasting "Looking for SG". As our policy states, we don't broadcast or post here for members, nor are we interested in someone when the only thing we know about them is that they're looking for an SG. We're only interested once an SG member has teamed and/or chatted with someone and gotten to know them a bit.
While this does mean that new members are relatively infrequent, it also means that our turnover is ridiculously low and this has resulted in our steady movement up the SG listing. And, while the SG listing isn't necessarily a good indicator, for an SG that did not exploit and has never farmed for prestige it does actually tell you something. Last time I checked, the main SG was #44 and we got there mainly by doing TF's, arcs and trials as a group.
But, like I said, we're not interested in strangers. Which is why I didn't mention the names of any of our SG's.
hmm... that last part sounds rather standoffish. The fact is, we do actively look for new members - just not random heroes 'off the street'. Personally, I have a character I use specifically for meeting new players. I delete and re-roll when he gets to around level 15 or so. I think he's in his 7th life currently. Also there have been numerous occasions where I've met someone through the forums, met up with them in-game, and eventually ended up with them joining the SG. By that point, they were no longer a stranger.
Of course, I'm sure no one cares. I just like hearing myself talk... um, type. My next post will extol my humility and modesty.

Quote:Fixed that for you. This thread suddenly seems to have attracted lots of attention. Yesterday someone I'd never met before sent me tells asking for market mentoring. He commented that there seems to be insider info that most people aren't aware about. My first thought was that if I had that sort of knowledge, I'd be sploitzing, jerk-hacking and dupin rares like there's no tomorrow.

Jack has it right. I'll also point out that on some items (the glass panels, the floor plates) you can only change the colors of the logo. On some items (the banners) you can change the color of the entire object.
The way to change these it a bit tricky. By default, they take the colors from your SG colors. Also, if you place another of the same item with different colors, it will 'reset' any previous ones.
Example:
SG colors are blue/red.
Change SG colors to grey/white.
Place Medium Arcane banner 1, which is grey/white.
Change SG colors to green/yellow.
Place Medium Arcane banner 2, which is green/yellow.
Change SG colors back to blue/red.
Place another Medium Arcane banner 1, which is blue/red *AND* this action resets the OTHER Medium Arcane banner 1, making it also blue/red. The banner 2 would remain green/yellow. -
This. My first thought when he said he's not in an SG was, "I wonder what server he's on." (I'm on Infinity.)

I have a BS/regen scrapper. Originally, I took the Fitness pool and Stamina because I figured you can't have too much endurance. Later, I respec'ed the character to get rid of the Fitness pool because I could do just fine without Stamina and could easily think of 3 more powers to get.
Integration is probably the most important power in the set. I don't have Resilience. It's not a lousy power, but it's not good enough to be a 'must have' - not even close.
As a general comment in response to your questions: you seem not to be familiar with scrappers and want to PvP with them. You're doing this backwards. You need to know how to play the character, and how the powers work in general, before you can even HOPE to be competent in PvP.
While PvP builds and skills would be different from those for PvE, you're trying to learn that AND how your powers work. Expect to suck in PvP if you're not familiar with the powers. -

Timecard, no.
In order to upgrade the trial account, you need either a retail version of the game or a "game card" - these cost $20 and give you one month in addition to upgrading the account.
Personally, I would go with one of the boxed versions since you'll also get some kind of perk. The Good vs Evil box set has a couple of really useful powers (and two sets of costume pieces). -
1. Is there an End-game? (For instance, at least on a PVE standpoint are there places in the game where groups of people can take on colossal tasks, like raids in WoW-terms)
Not exactly. There is a deal great of content that imposes a minimum level to participate, but the highest such minimum is 45 (max level in the game is 50). So you have five levels where you can do any and all end-game stuff. There is a significant amount of content that is restricted to 45-50.
There are various 'mass raid' activities but none are restricted to level 50. The Hamidon Raid is 45+. The Rikti Mothership Raid is 35+ (you can be 'sidekicked' by a higher level hero to survive and be effective). There are also Zombie and Alien invasions that can hit ANY zone and have absolutely no level restrictions.
2. Is the community as Elitist or as immature as WoW's?
Yes, go away.
Just kidding.
3. It is an old game, so...how large is the player-base?
Oh, I think the active accounts number around 140K. This is obviously tiny compared to WoW (everything is tiny in comparison), but it's a good number for any other game and is not declining. (I hear it's gone up lately, but don't any reliable information about that.)
4. How in-depth is the game?
Really not sure what you mean by this. It can be pretty involved. People organize into 'supergroups' (like guilds) and have events for their groups. Other people organize public events. There are various 'side games' like collecting badges for various accomplishments, playing the in-game market, role-playing, etc, etc.
5. Finally, how much "stuff" is there to do when you hit the level cap?
All of it. Anything that you did 'on the way up' or missed, you can go back and do once you hit 50. Since there are so many different types of powers available, many people retire a character once it hits 50 to play something different. On the other hand, many people primarily play their 50's because they've become their favorite character(s). -
I currently use a Logitech wireless laser mouse, but not that one. And I would not use that one for one simple reason - it does not take standard batteries. If the battery dies at a bad time, you have no mouse unless you keep a spare plugged in. I use AA rechargeable batteries in my mouse and have a spare set charged and ready to go. That would be my only concern.
