Quote:You should be able to get full details on any power by dragging the power from your power tray to the chat bar and dropping it, then hitting enter. This puts the text in brackets in the chat window and you can click it and pull up the power info window. The 2nd tab has the power details.Do the costumes cost end? The wiki didn't say and I'm keeping Knives of Artemis on.
FYI, you can also look up powers that you don't have. Just type something like [Dry Heave] in chat. You do need the square brackets and, yes, that's a real power in the game.

Actually, I would think he's plugged into an electrical outlet. Most homes come pre-wired for electricity and most laptops will throttle the video card when you're running on battery.

Quote:Firstly, I'll start with the blindingly obvious statement that the drops are random. In a population this size, it's not just possible, but LIKELY that someone get garbage or nothing while someone else gets a treasure trove in the same period of time.well ive posted my thoughts on support elsewhere so heres the prob they cannt/wont fix. since I16 went live i get no set recipes at all on any toon on either of my 2 game accounts. support insists the drop rate is fixed .... I16 went live over a month ago ..i cannt get anything but generic drops since then .. is THAT what they consider normal?. meanwhile i see others posting what great set drops they are getting and its really starting to wear thin .
With all due respect, there is nothing in your description that suggests there is a problem with the game. Sure, your drops suck. And someone got 3 purples in one TF last night.
Having said that, it certainly is possible that there is something broken and it's affecting your drops. It's not likely, but it's certainly possible. Do you focus on any one particular type of content? It may be ONE type of content/mission/etc that has a problem and other people aren't noticing it because they don't do the same stuff you do. -
Quote:Of course, he could have just typed the recipe names in the chat window. That works too. Same for powers and inspirations. Try typing [Enrage] in the chat window, or [Dry Heave] (yes, that's a real power).I was in a foul mood (as usual) and was griping about how I had never gotten a purple, and how much the RNG hates me. So this lowbie on the team pipes up with ..."oh purple? you mean like these?" and proceeds to link 3, yes 3, purples (all hecatomb or apocs) in the chat window and tells us those are what has dropped for him during the last 2 runs...

Quote:If you admit you already know this indicator doesn't indicate server population, why do you even bring it up?I also notice (and yes i know it just indicates utilization not absolute pop) that even freedom and virtue aren't even single yellow dotting lately.
Several went yellow during Double XP, whereas last Double XP event, some went red. However, there was a server upgrade in the interim. So, what comparisons and conclusions can we draw? NONE. Because we don't know how much the server capacity was increased.
I'm not going to address your personal perception of population, but please don't throw in useless information to try to support your position. -
You can also just set the time on your computer manually. That's what I do. Of course, I get the accurate time from MY ATOMIC WATCH!

(Okay, the watch isn't actually atomic. It receives a signal from an atomic clock at a Naval observatory in Colorado.) -
1. Glance over the display to make sure my default settings loaded correctly.
2. Manually type the command to load my default keybind set.
3. Hit the keybind to load my chat window and channel settings.
4. Claim vet rewards.
5. Profit.

Quote:I started a thread about this when planning a shield tanker. The consensus was that Mace is *SLIGHTLY* (very slightly) better. Given that it wasn't a big difference, I ended up going with Axe due to concept and costume reasons (Ironblade uses an edged weapon - broadsword; and I think the axes look cooler than the maces).Question: why not Shield/Axe? It's very similar to /Mace, trading knockdown for stun on some of the powers, and with slight differences in what level the hard-hitters are. I am currently enjoying my SD/Axe Tanker very much.
P.S. Shield/Axe was a fun combo. I was very happy with the character. I IO'ed him and got all his defenses in the range of 49-51%. Got him to 50 in short order and started a new one. My current tank is dark/dark and is level 38. -
I actually recall reading an official statement where this is spelled out very plainly but can't recall where it was. As others have said, six. The phrasing of the explanation is that the two numbers (virtual team size and actual team size) are not additive. You simply use the larger of the two.

Quote:They're not 'Huge' set bonuses? (I don't have any slotted.) Keep in mind that the purple bonuses are 'Ultimate'.I think the only reason they aren't purple is that they aren't as strong as purples. Setting aside how they give you two distinct sets of bonuses in PvP settings, they aren't any stronger in any one feature than other very nice rare PvE sets. They don't offer "Huge" set bonuses, and they honor the regular boost schedules for their enhancement types.

Probably best to sell Halloween Salvage in July or August.
I never watched the prices during the off season. I stock up each Halloween for personal use and to give to friends; not to sell it. I have 72 sets now and 20 lowball bids on the market for each item.
Once upon a time, when Wentworths was first introduced, people were dumping that salvage like crazy. I bought 80 sets at 17,000 influence each (that's PER SET, not per piece). -
"Worthless" is a value judgment. The other rooms have no UTILITY. This is why they are called DECORATIVE rooms. Considering how many bases use decorative rooms, I believe the majority of base builders feel they do indeed have WORTH.

Quote:It's not different. It's still based on one person's personal observations which are notoriously unreliable. And how many threads have we seen from people who were absolutely certain the devs nerfed accuracy?

-
You're still not listening. You can get 2 purples on the same farm with one character. Having 2 or 3 characters does not improve your chances IN THE SLIGHTEST.

Quote:No, because you're looking at it WRONG again.Hm, so let me get this right.
Running 3 toons, don't increase chances at purple drops? Well, if the odds are 1 in 1000, say. If my 1 account gets 1 in that 1000, and my 2nd gets 1 in 1000, and my 3rd gets 1 in 1000, don't that increase my odds to 3 per 1000 instead of 1 in 1000? I would think so.
The 1 per 1,000 check is NOT PER ACCOUNT/CHARACTER. It is PER ENEMY DEFEATED.
If you put one character set for x8 in a mission and the mission spawns 140 enemies, you have 140 chances for a drop.
If you put 8 characters in that same mission, it will spawn 140 enemies and you have 140 chances for a drop.
For each defeat, the server decides if you get a drop or not. If you do, it picks someone to give it to. If there is only one person, he gets them all. If there are eight people, it hands each one out randomly. The total number of drops is unchanged. Having all 3 of your accounts in the mission does *NOT* increase your drops. Not even a little. -
The part underlined and bold is where you are wrong. Purple drops (all drops) are based on NUMBER OF ENEMIES DEFEATED. The number of characters present is completely irrelevant. Ten thousand enemies will drop the same number of items whether they were defeated by one character or eight.

Quote:Of course, that proves nothing. We have no way of knowing whether the previously existing spawn points were moved, removed or added to when they implemented the banner spawn points.Jack spawns at the same spots as Eochai. Suggest checking Paragonwiki for halloween event maps that show spawn points.

No, you're thinking right. But he did say *CAN'T* get now.

It can be about alts. Or not.
I know people with HUNDREDS of character.
I know someone with *TWO* - one hero and one villain, both 50.
Quote:Are you sure? Here's a line that someone had in their sig.I know that she isn't the type to want to just do it again with a new costume and some new powers.
"Playing two different kinds of scrappers is like the difference between playing tennis and playing racquetball. Playing two different kinds of defenders is like the difference between playing hockey and playing piano."
Playing two different power sets within the same archetype can be dramatically different. And you have FOURTEEN archetypes to pick from. -
Damn straight. That huge inspiration tray was a real boon for my scrapper on the Positron TF before SSK'ing (no status protection at level 15 previously).

It's all subjective. I think the top, bottom and most of the other items (especially the helmet) are beautiful. I think the gloves and boots are hideous. Also, I think the wings (even without the armor) are different enough from the feathered ones that they are good. I changed one guy to those wings because they look a bit more sinister.
