(shrug) The Kora Fruit problem was the inspirations themselves. It's not a case of a a side-effect. The problem with the TF settings was doing Master runs set to -1. This is one very specific issue with a system that, overall, is highly popular.

Quote:We can excuse the small child, since children don't know any better.and you ask that child "Did you just steal a cookie?", the child truthfully answers "No."
. . .
your manager truthfully answers "No," even if he has been informed that yes, you will be laid off in three months.
. . .
NCsoft always truthfully answers "No," even if they have already set a metric that they suspect can't be met and a date on which the shutdown will occur if that metric isn't met.
The other two people in your examples are doing what is called LYING. It's lying no matter what background/explanation/dog and pony show you put around it.
To be fair, the manager may have been instructed to keep things secret and marketing people are paid to say whatever will be good for the company. It's still lying, though. -
Quote:Because you know the Rogue Isles better. I mostly play blue-side. When I play a villain, I often have to ask teammates for the fastest route to a mission in a different zone. Why is there a ferry AND a helicopter???????- Why is it so annoying to get around in Paragon City? I haven't played my heroes for a while and loaded up and... well, it's so ridiculously easy to get around in the rogue isles that I almost NEVER use my mission teleporter power. In paragon city, well, it's kind of annoying. Why are there two unconnected subway systems??????

Quote:It's all about perception and specific situations. Your example of the AE enemy with the self-heal, in fact, has NOTHING to do with your issues about survivability. You're talking about a specific power set and how it worked for the enemy - not how it got you killed. The point I'm trying to get at is that Resistance builds seem to me to be somewhat disadvantaged in that they're getting HIT. As I say, a foe that can't hit you can't affect you with non-damage effects.
As another example, I made an AE mission in which the enemy was a custom villain with dark powers. Among them is a self-heal that has to hit its target (I don't recall the name). My Invulnerability tank was entirely unable to defeat this character as it would heal itself constantly. As soon as it couldn't hit me (I used purple insps), he was a pushover.
In this regard, Defense is VASTLY superior to Resistance. By the time you get to higher level and you're into the realm of the Defense Soft Cap, you're more invulnerable than an invulnerable character.
Sure, defense keeps you from getting hit - until it doesn't. And that happens a lot. On the ITF, the Cimerorans got my invuln's base defense as low as -100%. Of course, they still couldn't kill him because he has 90% resistance to their attacks.
I've taken invuln, fire, ice and shield to 50. I have a dark tank at 41. You are mistaken about defense being the solution to all problems. My invuln is my toughest tank and has succeeded in all the hardest content available. Oh, and his build cost me under 30 million influence so it's not some IO'ed 'super build'. -
Quote:Only half of them. Lying and cheating are pretty easy. It's the stealing and killing that wears you out.Marketeers are still willing to lie, cheat, steal, and kill for purples to sell to the highest bidder.

I like it when a big spender goes on a shopping spree. I was in the Arena, waiting for an event to get organized, when I saw the message that I had sold something I knew I listed at 25 million.
Then another.
And another.
Bam!
Bam!
etc.
Eight sales at 25 million in under 60 seconds. Now that was exciting! -
Quote:Well, they DID say it was a temporary solution. If you mean that they haven't stated a deadline for fixing it, this is true.Interesting. It sounds to me that while that could certainly be a game changing adjustment, it wouldn't be worth leaving forever just because it was that way for a while.

Fixed that for you. The coralax apparently draws from a limited list of emotes that sort of make sense. I've seen it doing several different ones.

Quote:I want to know if we'll get marble floors that are actually reflective, unlike the shenanigans with the floor in City Hall. Sure, it LOOKS reflective, but can you see yourself or the City Rep in the 'reflections'?What I want to know is will we see floor-length reflective mirrors in Icon?

(FYI, it's not a reflective floor. It's translucent with an inverted replica of the room UNDER the floor.) -

Actually, we did. There was extensive discussion on the matter, some powers were pointed out that were not consistent, and they were changed. This was on the previous forums, though, and quite a while ago.

hmm... I would have put a smilie after that, but we have the sucky smilies again.
P.S. Well, that one looks okay. -
Hopefully he's aware it's an 'issue' and not a 'nerf'. It was not a design decision. It was a temporary solution to a problem.

I can understand your situation. I IO my toons in the mid 30's and, unless I expect to play them a lot after hitting 50, they're pretty much done. I have only purpled one toon and don't see the point to doing any others. I farm a bit, do a ton of TF's and work the market so the infl and merits keep coming in.
With sufficient funds, you can effectively 'buy' something that normally requires a long-term group effort - a well-appointed base. If you have an idea for a theme SG, or a cool name idea, you can make a new SG and have a massive base overnight by converting influence to prestige. Yes, the exchange rate sucks but, if you're rolling in influence, who cares?
P.S. I have not actually done this, but I did buy an existing VG with base. It had died out and one person found himself the only one left and didn't feel like building it back up and decided he'd rather have some infamy than his own private base. The VG had a name I liked, so I bought it. -
I think they were picked due to the fact that no one else wanted them.
P.S. And Ulli stealthed in ahead of me..... -
Quote:Since you're probably going to be editing or cropping the image ANYWAY, I usually bypass the CoH screenshot functionality completely.I know that some people are able to do this, as I've seen screenshots that include all these other windows.
Hitting the PrtScrn button takes a screenshot in CoH, but it ALSO captures exactly what is displayed on your monitor and saves it to the Windows clipboard. Then I open Photoshop and paste it into a blank canvas.
This process will always display the user interface. But if you WANT the interface in your image, this removes one step (and one 'lossy compression' save) from the overall process. -
I used the three respecs that were given free in my Veteran's Rewards. I actually need to respec one last time, so can I run a respec trial and get a free one?
You can run the respec trial and get an EARNED one. Unlike the free ones, you can 'carry around' multiple earned ones at the same time (a total of three).
Just to let you know, whenever I log in, it says that I have 1 Unclaimed Respec available. I typed in '/respec' but it said I didn't have any available and to go see Jack Wolfe.
That suggests you actually have an earned one lying around. Why don't you try talking to Jack Wolfe and see what happens. He's in Galaxy City, in the lower level of the Freedom Corps building. -
