Yeah, the ITF is about as extreme as it gets for -def. The other extreme circumstance is Anti-Matter's lackeys in Tina McIntyre's arc. The robots all have radiation blast and can knock a mixed set down by 30-40% defense in seconds.
Still, if you have enough defense.... I was tanking the ITF with my shield tank and he has 51% defense all by himself. And... we had a Widow on the team and a FF defender. I have the combat stats displayed on that guy so I can watch for cascade failure before it kills me. As we began the first mission, I noticed I had 104% melee defense. As you might guess, the Cimerorans couldn't do jack.
As I posted earlier in this thread, they got my invuln down to -100% base def. Somewhere between my invuln's defense (25%-ish) and that 104% figure, you start to be able to laugh off defense debuffs. I didn't think to check at the time, but does anyone know how much debuff a Cimeroran applies? Is it the standard broadsword numbers? -
I wasn't even thinking about the resistance cap since several kinds of tanks can hit the cap with no set bonuses at all.

Because the two have no direct relation. Aside from that the fact that they only come into play when you are exemplared.

Quote:I got my Immortal badge the old fashioned way. I used the Elite boss version of Tyrant years ago and went into REST in front of him and went to sleep. You kids and you modern work ethic.....Perhaps we could get an old lady from Atlas Park to smack you with her purse....Quote:Well squishy blaster here so I know that would not work for me

Quote:The problem in the Hollows is that, if you are solo, you will usually get minions only. It used to be that the flaming patches of ground would always spawn at least one boss. That is no longer the case. You need to be on a team to get the bosses reliably and in large numbers.Magmite bosses - look for the burning patches in the Hollows and hit it with an AoE and they will spawn. Note you need to be able to aggro them but cannot target them individually if you are too high a level until they spawn and they won't aggro on you from proximity if you are out of the level range.

Double posting bad!

You might want to edit your message so people don't reply to it. Change it to something like "Sorry for the double post. Cat barfed on my keyboard." -
Quote:It varies. Some are linked directly to another badge with some sort of thematic connection. For example, one of the exploration badges that mentions Crey (in Independence Port, near Terra Volta) unlocks the Crey Scientist gladiator....I see bright gold text on my screen saying "Gladiator Unlocked!"
Now I asked some friends in the Sg, and they explained it's for a mode of PvP... but how am I getting these?
Some are linked for no apparent reason. The badge for the Synapse TF gets you a Lost gladiator. Why? There are no Lost in that TF. Also, some of the badges you get for hitting a 10-level increment have linked gladiators.
Some are granted for defeating X number of enemies for which there is no matching defeat badge. For example, the Swift Steel gladiator is earned by defeating Tsoo Ancestor Spirits. -

Quote:Nope! That was fixed. It's worth noting, though, that for some reason AT Resistance Mods apply to these IOs. For example, a scrapper's Resistance Mod is 0.75 which means that the 3% Psi Res IO from Impervium Armor actually only adds 2.25% Psi Res.

"Damage resistance bonuses granted by Invention Origin sets like Aegis or Shield Wall will no longer be modified by archetype modifiers. This means that all archetypes will get the advertised bonus on the enhancement."
Fixed on 7/15/09 per patch notes here. -

I don't know what anti-virus you're using but, when I used Norton that was never true and now I use AVG and it's not true.

Quote:Well, when they printed eleventy bajillion of one expansion set (I think it was Fallen Empires), the per case price took a nosedive. It was silly to NOT buy them by the case.Reminds me how the developers of Magic The Gathering didn't imagine that people would buy entire cases of booster packs so they could build decks entirely of rares.

Besides, I was really keen on all those fungus dudes (Thorn Thallid, Feral Thallid, Fungal Bloom, etc). -
Quote:Interesting, if true. Because I can guarantee it does NOT work that way blueside. For the boundaries of level zone ranges, I have found from experience that the mayhem you receive is entirely dependent on which zone you are in (in this case PO or Cap).
It is possible that these experiences are purely coincidental, but I have done it enough times that this would surprise me a lot. -
Quote:What thread are YOU reading? This one got dumb on page one.Why are you guys even arguing anymore? Another_Fan has way too much invested in his opinion to even think about changing it, and ya'll are not going to change your opinions (because they're generally correct).
Just stop. It got dumb at least ten posts ago.

That WAS impressive. A reply in one minute that nailed the problem with only limited information.

He was Citadel at that point. Also, all of Siege's lackeys had it since they use the same model. Also, as Weatherby points out (and illustrates) this has intermittently affected the soldiers in the Shard.

Quote:Deleted or not, you don't have to go buy the game again. You can always download the software. It's paying $15 a month that gets you access to the game.Anyone have a spot of advice, possibly other than 'go buy the game again'?
FYI, if you do get back into the game, you might want to buy the Architect Edition package. It gives you a free month of play and you can pick one of the 'super booster packs' (I believe the choices are tech or magic). Each booster pack gives a power that you may, or may not, find amusing plus a bunch of costume parts. The booster packs normally go for $10 so, if you were going to buy one ANYWAY, get the Architect Edition for $20 and get $25 worth of stuffz.
P.S. Your location says you're in Babylon. The one in ancient Mesopotamia? That would be pretty cool. I know there's also a Babylon in NY state, but that's not anywhere near as cool. -
How much prestige does it have (not just unspent - the total listed at the Registrar)? That would be the single most important factor. I imagine you do not want to publicize the name. Just a guess, but when I bought a VG, the previous owner only conveyed the name via PM.

I was never in the military.
Thank you to all those who were, and all those currently serving. -
Quote:It happens. During the last Winter event, I saw a name I recognized on the ski slope. I asked, "Are you the Tealeaf from the forums; the squinty cat?" And it was.Popped in to the Sharkhead market to check my traps this AM and a stranger pulled up beside me and asked "are you the famous Nethergoat?"

On the other hand, I also ran into a Snowglobe, but it wasn't the one from the forums.
