No one is disputing the loss of people in your SG or your knowledge about their motivation. The point was that this is NOT a representative group. The very fact that they all knew each other makes it non-representative of the general game population. If your SG had some sort of theme or common goal, that would make them even less representative of the population.

Quote:P.S. I will NOT be waiting. My life (and computer usage) doesn't revolve around one game so the schedule for Going Rogue doesn't determine when I buy (or build, in my case).Gee, thanks for putting words in my mouth. Did I say anything about upgrading whenever the whim takes me? No. I said my upgrading isn't scheduled around Going Rogue. What it *IS* scheduled around is the age and current performance of my computer.Quote:That's great and all. It's nice to be able to upgrade whenever the whim takes you. However, some people here are on budgets. Therefore they set certain milestones for themselves to justify purchases.
The rest of your argument about waiting because computers will be more powerful in a few months is still absurd. That's not "making an informed purchasing decision". It's called being unrealistic about computer technology. It will ALWAYS be more powerful in a few months.
Sure, there ARE valid reasons to wait. As you say, if Going Rogue *IS* his main interest, then wait until we know more. If he doesn't have the money available, then wait and save. But "computers will be more powerful"??? Not a reason. -
I know it was also affecting the Vanguard HVAS at one point. I remember the Shivan patch note, but don't know if the HVAS was fixed.

Quote:There's always hope. At most companies, there are people willing to go beyond their official job description and do what's needed. Hopefully someone like that will hear about this and take a second look to see whose fault it really is.I talked to Time Warner, they claim the problem is with the one hop just outside their reach.
At the same time, the "one hop" is NCSoft's border router, just inside their ping-blocking firewall, and they claim the problems with their ISP have been fixed already and it's Time Warner's Fault.
So now everyone's pointing at everyone else, and this problem has little hope of getting fixed except by accident maybe.
I guess all I can do at this point is deal with it and hope it doesn't turn into a permanent outage that nobody will fix. -
There are three SG healing badges. Each grants access to a base item.
1) Tree of Life / Auto Doc (arcane/tech) - Sells Tier 1 blue and green inspirations. Buys some items like a store (certain higher tier inspirations, recipes, etc).
2) Spirit Signal / Robo Surgery - Increases by 10% the amount of hit points you have when rezzing in your base. You can attach TWO to each rez device.
3) Contemplation Charts / Combat Logs - Sells Break Frees. Since we can combine inspirations, this item is basically useless since you can just buy some blues off the first item and combine them.
Each of these items can only be installed in a medical room. -
Not having played any other MMO's or FPS's, I have not re-mapped any keys. However, I have added a great many keybinds.
- I have a template on the top of my keyboard listing the 22 binds on the F-keys.
- In order to free up room in my power trays, I have the following bound to keys: Rest, GvsE Jump Pack, vet powers, Teleport, Recall Friend, Base TP, Pocket D TP, Mission TP, O-Portal. (Certainly, not all of my toons have Teleport or Recall but, for those who do, it's always on the same key.) -

No problem whatsoever. Been playing 4-1/2 years and it doesn't seem any harder to get good names now than when I started.
Early names: Ironblade, Alloy, Mythmaster, Lifeshadow.
Recent names: Ironshield, Staff Sgt Frost, Dark Devices, Agent Pitchblende.
You will note that there is no funny punctuation, incorrect spellings or tricks using o/0 or 1/L.
I particularly like the last one. Pitchblende is uranium ore and the character is earth/rad.

Nah. I would have agreed if they had the same powers as the lower level ones, but they don't have Moment of Glory or Unstoppable so they're aren't much trouble for an average team. A total PuG could well have problems. On the other hand, a team that regularly plays together will wipe the floor with them.

Quote:This is true, and the only valid reason to wait.I would wait until next spring before you go for any upgrades. We'll know more about the specific hardware requirements for Going Rogue,
This is ALWAYS the situation. Therefore, this is NOT a reason to wait.Quote:there will be new stuff out,
Again, this is ALWAYS true and NOT a reason to wait.Quote:and today's top-end hardware will have come down in price.
P.S. I will NOT be waiting. My life (and computer usage) doesn't revolve around one game so the schedule for Going Rogue doesn't determine when I buy (or build, in my case). -
Quote:Affected? Yes, but not the way the first paragraph suggests.I was told that slots are affected by your level when your exempted down. I dont remember that being the case before, I thought that if the power was active all slots where active that where available for that power.
so is that true that slot levels are affected when exempted.?
Let's say you take a power at level 4 and add additional slots at levels 7, 11, 15, 23 and 42. If you exemplar from level 50 to level 6, the power will keep all six slots. The level at which you added each slot does not matter. The order of the enhancements in the slots does not matter.
Now, having six slots of high level enhancements would make your character DRAMATICALLY more effective than someone who is really level 6. Therefore, the EFFECTIVENESS of each enhancement is reduced. (Math involved, Father Xmas provided the relevant link, blah, blah, blah
)
TL;DR version: The level and order you add slots doesn't matter. -

Pretty easily. You can enter the Shard at level 1 to buy a Raptor Pack. Also, one side of the ship is close enough to the hills that you MIGHT be able to leap aboard WITHOUT the Ninja Run power. I'm sure Ninja Run would let you reach it.

Quote:Absolutely. I was just saying that you can't be 'world class' at both. I have 'survival tanks', 'damage tanks' and 'general purpose tanks'. If someone asks me to tank the STF, I don't bring a tank built for damage.Perhaps you can't do both damage and survival *as* well as you could do one or the other at the extremes, but it's certainly possible to build a highly survivable tank who can also do respectable damage.

A scheduled, multi-zone attack? No. Those are always announced well in advance.
On the other hand, it's a safe bet people will be running the Lady Grey TF during the long weekend. That will trigger a single zone attack (which might be the wrong faction for you to attend). -

Quote:Well, despite the names, 'Willpower' is actually more of a regen set than 'Regeneration'. For accuracy, the regen set should really be called 'Self Heal' since that's where most of it's power lies. So, REALLY, Willpower DOES provide better regeneration than Regeneration - but that doesn't mean better survivability.I just don't understand why Willpower seems to provide better regeneration than does regeneration.
The 'bread and butter' power is Reconstruction.... okay, most people would say it's Integration, and it is, but I'm assuming that Integration gets taken as soon as you can get it and you never turn it off. Base Reconstruction heals 25% of your hit points once per minute. You can enhance that to approximately half of your hit points every 30 seconds. So that power alone can replace your full hit points almost once per minute - at the cost of interrupting your attack chain.
Next, Dull Pain. Get this: under the right conditions, Dull Pain can heal you for MORE POINTS THAN YOU START WITH! This is because it first increases your maximum hit points, then heals you based on a percentage of the new total.
With these two powers, plus Moment of Glory, you have tremendous ability to deal with incoming damage. I have been on multiple task forces where I had to go into fights first because the tank couldn't survive it. Some enemy types are like kryptonite to certain tank sets - they bypass or negate the defenses and the tank has nothing to keep them alive. Self heals and regeneration work against everything (okay, except maybe Hamidon, but you don't see him too often). Classic example: most tank sets vs psionic enemies. With regen, I don't care if the damage is fire, psi, lethal, whatever.
With the regen set, you don't have to worry about an enemy being able to bypass your defenses or attack your weak spot. Another benefit (which it has in common with Willpower) is that you can skip the Fitness pool and pick three OTHER powers to enhance your survivability. My first character was broadsword/regen and I've logged thousands of hours on him. Regen kicks butt.
Having said all that, I know multiple people who simply do not use the regen set because, "It's too clicky." -
Quote:Realistically, even the devs can't quantify this unless everyone who quits the game fills out an exit survey (and is honest in it).How many people have left the game since this TF change happened? Is there a quantifiable number somewhere, such as subscriptions over a period of time? Or are we begged to take one's word for it at face value?

Quote:Not menacing enough."I'm sorry. IceMan, IceWoman, IceBaby, IceIceBaby, and IcedDarling have all been taken. And I swear if you type in Vanilla Ice one more time I'm going to Blue Screen on you!"
"I'm sorry. IceMan, IceWoman, IceBaby, IceIceBaby, and IcedDarling have all been taken. And I swear if you type in Vanilla Ice one more time I'm going to go Blue Steel on you!"
NOW, it's menacing.

The build looks okay overall, but what's it for? Let me use my inv/EM as an example of what I mean. My guy is built for team/extreme tanking and damage output is secondary. He has all 9 powers from the primary, Tough and Aid Self. To balance that, he has only 5 powers from the secondary (I didn't take Build Up or Energy Transfer). When I IO'ed him, I went for +regen (and got 300%). Since IO'ing, I have not used Aid Self at all except during the STF. All other content simply has not required it.
My point is, when I build a tank, I decide if the focus will be on damage output or survival. You can do both simultaneously, but not well.
P.S. I don't see much point to Hasten unless it's to boost DPS. Taking it just for Dull Pain seems like overkill. -
This is probably not going to happen. The devs are under the impression (and might be right) that having a lot of storage capability will result in hoarding and harm the market/economy.
-
You don't need to. The term is commonly used in one of two ways:
1) "Our team needs more DPS."
All they are saying is that they want a character whose primary purpose is doing damage, like a blaster, scrapper, brute, etc.
2) "The DPS of this attack is 8.5."
Pretty much no one cares. This is a useless detail to over 99% of the players. I've been playing 4-1/2 years, have dozens of IO'ed characters, one with a build that cost billions, and I don't care what the DPS numbers are. It pretty much only matters to game developers and people who want to fight archvillains solo.
So, if they are referring to a character as DPS, it just means 'damage dealer'. If they are referring to specific DPS numbers, ignore them or they'll start in with other details like DPE (Damage Per Endurance).

Quote:Yeah, that help entry was pretty much useless.Read that. No time is given nor any good alternatives. For example, what other online retailers sell such a thing ?
"We have implemented new purchase limits to help prevent fraudulent credit card use. These limits restrict the number of codes which can be purchased for each product per household and/or credit card used within a certain timeframe."
With zero indication of low long "a certain timeframe" might be. sheesh.
