It wasn't just that one setting, though. It was a sliding scale. At base difficulty, you needed 6 to get AV's. Each step up on the difficulty setting decreased the needed team size by one, except the last setting (Invincible) dropped it down to 'AVs while solo'.

Quote:40-50 minutes.Even with a good team you tend to be short on time before you finish which I suspect is why it's so rarely run (at least for PuGs, no doubt someone will come in and explain that their SG can consistently run it in 25minutes
).
No. You have to kill SOME of the Rikti ambushers. I think you need to kill the ones that come to help the Hydra and not the ones that come to repair the generators.Quote:That shouldn't be the case... you should get Mission Complete as soon as the Hydra Head dies.
I've done this trial a number of times over the past few YEARS and have NEVER been able to see the shield.Quote:I'm also not sure why your team was having so much trouble determining if the shield was down. Last time I did the Trial, it was big, blue, and obvious.
If so, it's been bugged every time I've ever done it.Quote:It should be a large blue or pink bubble. If you didn't see that, something has changed. Possibly a bug.
Overall, it isn't that hard if you have someone who knows what they're doing and people listen. The first time I ran this for my SG, I spent nearly an hour considering tactics and setting up detailed keybinds to give the background as well as specific instructions for various points in the trial. On our first try, we completed it in less time than I spent on the binds. -
Something like Ouroportal.com where you can set up a page about your characters, supergroups, etc? Here's the page for Taxibot Belle.

Quote:I agree. That's why my invuln/EM didn't take Energy Transfer.Yes, the 'problem' is that Energy Transfer doesn't just burn Endurance - there is also a noticeable Hit Point penalty (167 HPs at L50). 'Wasting' energy just makes you tired, but wasting a 'pound of flesh' is much more alarming!

It seemed counter-productive to my primary goal as a tank. -
Quote:The build listing says 188% regen and I agree with that number. However, that INCLUDES the Numina unique and you're counting it again in your tally above.3. Actually, I have a bunch of pairs as well, but its is sure hard to see in the short export format. When I add up the values manually, I get:
100% - Base Regen
188% - Set Bonuses
80% - Health
39% - Physical Perfection
20% - Numina Unique
------
427%
Not a big deal, but I have a spreadsheet to calculate mine to the exact point, so a 20 point discrepancy jumps out at me.

Or doing it to get the recipes at the level you want, since they're rarely on the market. The potential return for selling the recipes is irrelevant to me.
-
Quote:Total and utter nonsense.Since no one with any sense spends merits on random rolls before level 50 this is unlikely to happen.
We often see posts from people looking for recipes in the mid 30's. I do the same. I WANT recipes in the 30's. Therefore, when all my characters hit level 37, they use all their merits on random rolls. The merits accumulated on my 50's are used to buy specific recipes only, either at minimum level for procs or at level 35-37. -
Quote:Yeah, actually you didn't.I did diminish your point. There is no it could of been used for badges and repeating old content. It only was intended for badges and repeating or completing missed content.
They designed it to send you to the most common zones story arcs are in or to areas that link to those zones. So you still have to travel. This was the intent so that the core zones still remain populated to an extent and its still why they haven't extended the number of zones that the portal can send you to.
The devs made a deliberate decision to allow Ouro to send you to multiple zones instead of only the one you came from, which is how bases work by default. This clearly supports my position.
And you don't get to say what the devs' *INTENT* was, unless you're claiming psychic powers or can point us to a redname quote. I can make suppositions, too. I claim the INTENT was to facilitate travel - and I offer the EVIDENCE of the FACT you can travel to multiple zones from Ouroboros. What FACTS do you offer? -
And when he says "relog", he means exit CoH completely and restart it. The game currently has a bug where it consumes more and more memory until doing anything 'stressful' (like accessing Wentworth's) will crash it.

Quote:Yes, six ACTUAL players overrides the "No AV" setting. So, the conclusion is, that when the holder of the mission says "No AVs", then there will be no AVs, even if the equivalency slider is set to eight and there are less than six on the team.
I'm assuming that if there are six physical players on the team then the "No AV" slider is ignored. At least I think so.
HOWEVER....
Previously, going to higher difficulty settings would reduce the point at which a team would get an AV. On Invincible, you would get AV's while solo. We do not know how/if the new level setting affects what team size is needed to override the "No AV" setting. -

I use BitMeter 2, free and available on download.cnet.com here.
It tracks usage long-term and lets you analyze it by hours, days or months. I was on teams for several hours last night, including a Posi TF with 4 on the team. During the time I was playing CoH, the software tracked hourly downloads of 13, 24, 21, 13, 16, 16 MB. That 24 looks out of place. I did take a break at one point and read the forums and that involved watching a few videos so that probably explains that spike (and it probably ran part into the following hour).
Now, during that time, my UPLOADS were consistent at about 3MB per hour so, for total bandwidth usage, add 3 to the previous numbers. That puts my bandwidth usage at about 16-19MB per hour.
However, I have a ton of stuff running in the background. I have my browser open and there are often pages that auto-refresh. I have Yahoo Messenger and Skype loaded at all times.
More importantly (for you), there is an option in CoH to make the game more friendly for people on dial-up and you can 'opt out' of having it send some types of data. I have no idea how much that would affect the bandwidth usage but, if it's aimed for people on dial-up, it *should* be significant.
I would suggest installing BitMeter 2. Then load CoH and engage in your 'typical play' for 30 minutes and see what the traffic was. First, though, find that setting that reduces the bandwidth usage and set it appropriately. -
Sure they will. Tons of people make statements like that.
You're misrepresenting what others have said. We're not saying that NCSoft can't afford any advertising. We're saying that the kind of advertising you're talking about (i.e. on TV in general) would be a waste of money. With such a niche product, advertising in a 'general forum' (mass-market TV, magazines, etc) will not bring in enough new business to pay for itself.Quote:and I do thank those of you open minded enough to realise that NCsoft could possibly afford some advertising some where. (Super Bowl advertising excluded of course). -
Quote:I quote from above, "Not a bug."I searched the bug forum here and found only one discussion about phase shift. Has anyone else seen this issue and is there any ETA for a fix? I plan to eliminate hibernate from the build if this is how the devs want this to work although I see no reason for it.

Seriously, though, it's not a bug. The devs decided that being able to cycle through a bunch of 'get out of jail (combat) free' powers was imbalanced. Therefore, using ANY such power suppresses ALL such powers for.... I forget the duration since I didn't care. I have one toon with Hibernate and none with Phase.
But yes, this is definitely how they want it to work and THEY see a reason for it. So don't expect it to be 'fixed'. -
Well, Nericus' suggestion about the Disruptor badge is the 'best' in terms of getting the job done. Particularly if you're interested in total badge count. Get Disruptor first and the healing badges are a snap. Of course, that 400 rep is a bi... pain.

Like a great many others in the thread, I got the 2nd account before we could buy extra slots since 12 wasn't enough. By the time we could buy slots, I had 50's on the account that I didn't want to lose access to.
Then I found other uses so now I would keep it even if I could transfer the 50's to my main account.
- An 'anchor' to solo the Positron TF.
- Any time we're one short to start a TF.
- Park a hero at Faathim since he never gets a phone.
- Various types of 'solo' farming.
- Inviting new toons into the SG.
- Transferring influence. -
Quote:Mine has Aid Other and Aid Self, so no shortage of heal powers to slot.I tried to max out the regen, and think I got all of the regen bonuses except for one 12% that I couldn't fit in, due to lack of another ranged attack or heal to hold the needed IOs.
ugh, I'm not going to figure the numbers on each IO set to see if anything is missing. However:Quote:Here is the build - do you see any regen opportunities that I missed?
1) Why do you have the Numina unique in Dull Pain? You'll only get the benefit for 2 minutes after triggering Dull Pain.
2) I don't see the Regenerative Tissue unique (25% regen).
3) You've got a lot of full or close to full sets in there. I had to semi-frankenslot pairs of IO pieces to get my regen that high. Offhand, it looks like your build has significantly LOWER regen than mine. That 450% number in the display is either wrong or not measuring what it seems.
Edit: Okay, I'm an obsessive idiot; I added up the numbers on that build. I come up with 285% regen on top of base regen, so 385% total. My build has 392%. I have no idea where that 450 is coming from but it's wrong unless I'm an idiot and missing something. (Wait, I already said I'm an idiot, but I still don't think I'm missing anything.) -
Quote:Misused? Actually, this is clearly Working As Intended. If the devs didn't want people using the Ouro Portal as a travel shortcut, then it would force you return to the zone you came from, rather than giving a list of options. You were waiting for it, yet you do not in any way refute or diminish my point. It could have been used for badges and repeating old content without giving the option of multiple destinations upon exiting.Quote:haha I knew someone would post that. I was just waiting on it. The zone was created because badge people wanted a way to get badges from content that they missed and repeat old content. Not for you to use a mario warp zone.
Like I said.

Quote:No, his statement is technically true. They absolutely have enough money to run a TV ad. Hell, *I* have enough money to run a TV ad if I wanted to (well, not during the Super Bowl). It would be a COMPLETE waste of money in my case and a dramatic waste of money for NCSoft.I don't believe a member of NCSoft or Paragon Studios finance department would be allowed to post from a "non-redname" account. Which leaves us one of two conclusions:
1. You're breaking company policy, or
2. You have no clue what you're talking about as far as if they have the cash or not, given other priorities.
My guess is the second.
