No, it's not a 'real' hospital. There are no police drones and it is not an enclosed area. It's just intended to keep you from having to zone twice AND/OR let you stay in the zone since the present/portal may not be around any more.

Precisely. If you were able to teleport out of the tutorials, it would mess up your contact structure. Therefore, these powers are not available. Do NOT expect this to change. Ninja Run, on the other hand, wouldn't actually break anything by being available at lower level. Maybe they will change it and make it available sooner some day.

Quote:Not only that, but the image is a link to the site!Anyway, he pointed out to me that Massively.com has a short entry under their "Daily Grind" column titled How do you learn the game? That screenshot at the top of the article looks very familiar!

um, did you mean 'sorority'?
Anyway, most of the villain groups in the game are human beings, and not other species. Therefore, they shouldn't have their own group names.
A quarry of Igneous... or
A galapa of Igneous. (Hey, they came up with that one!)
A schmutz of Hydra.
Rikti:Collective, number undetermined.
An alarm of Clockwork.
A haunting of Spirits.
A heap of Slag Golems.
An appetite of Devouring Earth.
A growth of Coralax. -
Yes, you will have the bonus all the time, even when the power is off. There are a number of IO's that work this way, including the -knockback pieces and the Luck of the Gambler +recharge.
Yes, it's just costing you one slot. Using IO's, though, you can easily hit ED limits on both recharge and heal by using five slots. -
Oh. <smacks head>
A team of TWO normally can have bosses. The 'boss setting' only affects "bosses when solo". A soloer with a virtual team of 6 set to no bosses will never see a boss. A team with the leader set for 6 and a second actual teammate will override the 'no boss' setting since it only applies when solo. Spawn sizes will not change but bosses can now show up because the leader is no longer solo.
See how simple it all is?

Quote:Yes.If starting from a stand still, one's jump speed is determined solely by jump speed.
um, no. How about:Quote:With a running start, horizontal speed is determined by the higher of run speed and jump speed.
With a running start, horizontal speed is higher than from a standing start but gradually declines until it reaches your jump speed. -
Quote:I like George Carlin's bit:Having found a good woman after many years of searching I'm reminded of a spiel by Ron White that ends with "you can't fix stupid".
Think about how stupid the average person is. Now realize that half of them are even stupider than that. -

Yours, apparently. The Winter Guardians grant ZERO merits. You can get candy canes from the other enemies in the zone, but you can only get merits from the Lord of Winter.

Quote:This is almost impossible though. Someone will ALWAYS feel that they need to laugh at or talk down to the person and tell them how pathetic they are. Unfortunately, that's exactly what they want you to do, and ensures they won't leave you alone. As soon as someone feels they need to "put them in their place" by telling them how sad they are, the griefer gets the okay to proceed.Like the joke about the two guys facing a bear and one starts lacing his sneakers.Quote:Then you just need to make sure it isn't you. They'll go where they get their cookie from, and if it's not from you, they'll get bored and move along to someone who will oblige them.
"What are you doing? You can't outrun a bear."
"I don't have to outrun the bear; I just have to outrun you." -

Quote:What a load of absolute BS.My point was that I think NC's pricing model is morally wrong,
If someone was charging an unreasonable price for FOOD or SHELTER, you could make a moral argument. If someone is charging 'too much' for a *GAME*, you don't need to pay it.
You say you've canceled your account. Fine. If you feel the price was not worth it, than that would be the appropriate course of action. In my opinion, the pricing is eminently reasonable. I have two accounts and all booster packs except the Wedding Pack on both of them. Personally, I don't perceive $10 of value in the Wedding Pack. But I have all the others and am well pleased with them. After all, value in a LUXURY ITEM like a game is ENTIRELY subjective. -
Quote:It's your perception. Someone (I think it was Starsman) did exhaustive calculations and simulations to gauge the 'toughness' of each armor set. The only real shock for most people was the difference between 'stone with granite' and 'stone without granite'. One was at the top, which we all expected. The other was pretty much garbage.Do you have numbers to support this claim? Just wondering, because my experience playing an Invul vs other Tanks leads me to see that invul is closer to the bottom of the list in terms of survivability than the top. But that just might be my perception.
Anyway, I tried searching but can't find the post. It may have been on the old forums. As I recall, Stone was far and away number one. Invuln and Willpower were 2nd and 3rd but close to each other so their positions would easily shift depending on enemy type. -
Quote:I'm skeptical of that. Virtual team size and real team members are NOT cumulative. A team of two with the leader set for six, counts as six. A team of five with the leader set for five, counts as five. A team of seven, with the leader set for five, counts as seven. When set for six you need one additional real player on the map to spawn bosses.
I would set:
team size 7
level -1
bosses yes
AV's no
Dark Watcher's arc has a mission that was giving us all-boss spawns. I believe this is intended, since I've gotten them before in that mission. Hopefully, virtual team size will also generate these spawns. (We had a full team of 'actual' heroes.) -

Quote:So what you're saying is, now that you're one of the low-down, dirty, jerk-hacking, duping, cattle-rustling, varmint, ebil marketeers, you have a different opinion of them?I take back most of the disparaging remarks I ever made about playing with the in-game market. It's fun, and along with earning day-job badges, makes me feel like I am still playing the game in the background when I can't actually play for reals.

Yeah, some of the items are missing. I had an array of the CoV patron trophies and deleted the empty cases. I still have Recluse's mask, Scirocco's sword, Mako's teeth necklace and Ghost Widow's butt-cape.

Quote:When you leave the ground, if you have a jump speed, the jump speed takes over. This is why when you have Super Speed and you plunge off the side of a building, street, or such, you'll suddenly slow down and won't travel as far as you think you would. The effect gets worse if you try to change direction as you are falling and you cancel out the momentum calculations.I think je_saist is aware of that, since the paragraph I quoted specifically mentions "momentum calculations". Yes, a running start lets you jump further. Which is as it should be.Quote:Except when you are already running forward with superspeed and then jump. Somehow the game adds that momentum to your jump forward.
I think a good phrasing would be: Once your feet leave the ground, your running power has no further impact on your jumping speed, but your speed at the time your feet left the ground lets you start at a higher speed than if you did a standing jump. -
Sadly, bunk.
But I think we need this!
1) Candy Cane Sword, held by the 'handle'.
2) Candy Cane Mace, striking with the 'handle'.
I don't think candy canes would make a good shield. Perhaps a square shield with ribbons and a bow on it. Or a gingerbread shield. -
Quote:Well, if you were really serious, you could get a character with an offensive name to 50 with zero chance of getting generic'ed.I'm kind of lost there as well. I didn't realize you could "hide" your name from players somehow by working the system, unless you just mean /hide from searches.
1) Create toon.
2) Level pact with someone.
3) Never log in the offensive toon again until hitting 50.
Sounds pointless and idiotic to me, but you could do it. -
Quote:For actual damage resistance, flat-out impossible. How possible is it, with set bonuses and such to make an invul. scrapper reach tanker level resistance and, if it is possible, roughly how expensive would it be to do so ( in know the market fluctuates...just askign for a rough estimate)
1) You start at a numerical disadvantage.
2) Damage resistance is not a common set bonus.
3) Tanker resistance can go up to 90%. A scrapper stops at 75% no matter what.
However, can you make an invuln scrapper as 'tough' as some types of tanks? Yes. You can get huge amounts of defense from set bonuses. I have my ice and shield tanks close to 50% defense and my dark tank at about 30%.
As a starting point, you'll want Tough, Weave, Combat Jumping and the Steadfast Protection +defense unique. After that, off the top of my head (I don't usually build for defense so not an expert at it), I think you'd need 250 million+ to reach 'tank durability'.
P.S. If you want to hear from experts, post in the Tanker section.
