Quote:Definitely not. We're talking about counting EVERYTHING, including purples, etc. However, the comparison is based on influence gained vs time spent. You mentioned a good farming run that took an hour. An hour spent working the market can return a lot more *per time invested*. A skilled 'marketeer' might spend spend 1 hour per month at the market and make a billion influence. How many hours of farming would that require, on average?I'm not sure about the market>farm unless you ONLY count inf. from mobs.
If you hate farming and hate the market, would you rather spend 20 hours farming or 1 hour working the market? That's the comparison that people are making.
Of course, someone will say, "Oh, but your time is spread out over the month and you can't get the money any faster but I can farm every day." Yes, I can get the money faster. I can marketeer with 2 characters and earn twice as much by spending 2 hours per month instead of 1.
FYI, I wouldn't say that I "hate" either farming or the market, but I really don't care much for either. Therefore, I work the market. It takes less time away from the stuff I would like to be doing in the game.
If people would wise up and stop smoking, they'd have more cash and live longer, healthier lives. You're talking about human nature. In your market example, the factor is LAZINESS. Not gonna change.Quote:If people would wise up and craft their own recipes, the WW farmers would lose the inf battle very fast. LOL. -
Quote:Wait a minute. It *IS* a global. Therefore the level at which you bought or enhanced the power is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is the level of the enhancement itself. The Slow Resistance is Global.
The set bonuses always apply (unless you're exemplared more then five levels below when you bought/enhanced the power it's slotted in).
If I have a level 10 Winter's Gift slotted in Flight, which I took at level 30, and I exemp to level 20 so the power is greyed out and unavailable - the Winter's Gift slow resistance still works. It has NOTHING to do with the power it is slotted in. I can exemp as low as level 7 and still have the benefit of a level 10 Winter's Gift Slow Resistance IO. -
Let's clarify that no keyboard inherently violates the EULA. You may choose to use it in a manner that violates the EULA. If you use it to set up a set of automated macros to make your mastermind pets dance and sing, no one cares. If you use it to automate play (like chaining multiple attacks), then you are in clear violation of the EULA.

First, let me address the same point, trying to make it even simpler.
Let's say I have only 3 slots to spare for an attack and I am using level 35 invention origin enhancements (IO's). If I slot one each of accuracy, damage and recharge, I get 37% on each.
However, if I slot 'triple aspect' IO's (i.e. accuracy/damage/recharge pieces from 3 different sets), each piece adds 18% / 18% / 18%. One IO would give 18% each to accuracy, damage and recharge. Since I have 3 slots, I end up with 54% to each of these attributes.
Just for reference: a level 35 IO affecting two attributes gives 23/23 and a 'quad' (four attributes) gives 16/16/16/16. Please note, these numbers only apply for 'schedule A' powers (accuracy, damage, recharge, end reduction, healing, etc). Some power use different 'schedules' (defense, resistance, interrupt reduction, etc).
Ah, and now we get to why I used level 35 in my example. I, and many others, place a considerable value on the ability to spend some extra time enhancing the character somewhere in the 30's and NEVER DOING IT AGAIN. I fully enhance my characters with IO's around level 35 and never have to touch those slots again. I only have to enhance additional slots as I gain them and then never touch them again. Also, I get to keep my set bonuses when exemping for many of the task forces. -
hm... Can't you achieve the desired results by simply turning your character? I never tried rotating the camera while editing since the only time I rotate the camera is for screenshots showing the front of the character.

No, it's definitely not all-or-nothing. It's just a question of how much work it is. It might be more work for them to pick and choose what can be traded. Or it might not be. It might be easy.

I think the third number here should be a 50, based on the context of the rest of the sentence.

In my opinion, dark regen is so powerful but has such an outrageous END cost, I just tossed all the set bonuses and frankenslotted for performance.
I have:
Obliteration - acc/dam/rech/endred
Multistrike - acc/endred
Cleaving Blow - acc/rech
Doctored Wounds - endred/rech
Harmonized Healing - endred/rech
No set bonuses, but the performance of the power is epic. In five slots, I have the recharge and end reduction hitting ED limits, accuracy over 60% and even a little damage (but only because the Obliteration quad hit all the other stuff I wanted to boost).
You really want to have high end reduction on the high-cost powers. Of course, dark regen is the worst - 33 end to activate. BTW, my dark/dark tank has 11 toggles.

Quote:Oh, right.Remember to change your setting in Options so that you earn double inf when exemped (not sure if it really matters on 50s, but I always change it just in case).
Also, if you're in a supergroup, you want to be *OUT* of SG mode to maximize your influence. -
Quote:It counts the influence from defeats and mission bonuses for certain.Am I correct in thinking that only Inf earned by defeating Foes count for those totals?
Confirmation or corrections will be appreciated as will all suggestions as to how to maximise earnings/minimise pain
I suspect it would also count 'end of arc' bonuses, as well as anything you click that directly grants influence. Offhand, I can only think of two: one of the Christmas gifts and exploration badges once you hit 50 - so not much potential there.
As for maximizing earnings: GO GO GO. Do a lot of content. Personally, I did lots and lots of task forces. Once you get started, it's just mission, mission, mission and you earn some merits while you're at it. I was at 1.6 billion badge progress when they lowered the requirement. -
Quote:I consider this the epitome of lousy content. The 'puzzle' that can't be solved through observation or deduction but is merely a string of random actions that you have to figure out through random trial and error.Well, not to slam Posi, but that seems like a bit of a cop-out. Many puzzles could be randomized so the actions you take are not "always" the same.
HORRIBLE idea. That kind of BS was common in games 20 years ago and it stunk. -
Read my post, immediately above yours, about how often it happens and how to fix it.

Ah, that would explain the headline on the back page of the NY Daily News: "Thanks, Dolts"

Quote:That would just be wasting everyone's time. You can rip off names of Paragon Studios created content all day long. Make a Mr. Aeon, Golden Valkyrie, Master Recluse, whatever. There's no problem with that.I guess I'll just play it safe and petition myself. I wonder how often the GMs see that?
I had no intention of copying the CoH character Valkyrie, I had completely forgotten about her existence. I just went with Walkure because I am a Wagner fan and thought it was unique. I'll update this thread with the results. -

That sounds like a reasonable approach. The low-damage defender will be able to get the mission done, but his/her XP gets kicked in the man-biscuits.
-
1. It's not that TF specifically. I had it happen on Positron and it doesn't happen every time, or even most of the time.
2. After completing the mission, have the leader re-log so the star passes. That should fix it. -

I see plenty of fire tanks around. My impression is that dark and electric are the rarest armor sets, mainly because they haven't been around very long for tanks.
And yes, SD and WP were immediately hugely popular when they came out. Hell, I camped a name for my shield tank while waiting for the set to be released. -
Quote:You're mixing apples and oranges here. The level cap has NOTHING to do with the 'endless content' you want. You can access all the content in the game at level 50 (well, except the tutorials). And no game can ever have 'endless content' unless the players are creating it... oh, wait, we have that.Fifty shouldn't be the end cap. Never shoulda been. I fear if CoX doesn't ever figure that out, well Champions Online isn't going to usurp it, but the first hero-oriented multiplayer game that DOES figure out how to have endless content regardless of a character's past accomplishments and experience? Guess where everyone's gonna fly?

Do you have an SG lacking in healers, making it difficult/impossible for you to get the Auto-Doc and Robo Surgery for your base? I have an 'unattached' character that bounces around SG's to get the healing badges for them. He's on Triumph at the moment, but we have free server transfers until the end of January (when he goes back to Infinity). I don't charge or expect anything in return. PM me if interested.

I find your peculiar spelling and capitalization patterns to be both strange and sinister!
