To be fair, though, this will vary with circumstances. As a specific example, I was crafting most of a set of Luck of the Gambler (and other stuff) and miscounted and was short by one salvage item. I had to exit the base and go back to Wentworth's. Under those conditions, I don't care what the price is and I would easily pay a million influence for a Simple Chemical, Boresight, whatever.
  2. They can also be placed on various other items. Personally, when I need to place a wall item, I use a cubicle. The cubicle gives you lots of 'wall' area so you don't need to be moving the cubicle around to reposition or place multiple items.

I don't see that at all. What I see is that you personally are fixated on this one badge and, every so often, threadjack and post the same diatribe that we've seen many times.

As Darth Vader says to Princess Leia in the Robot Chicken Star Wars show: "Let it go." (Right before he shreds a biscuit and tosses crumbs all over to simulate the destruction of Alderaan. )

    Healing Badges

You can do it in one day with a few people who also want the badge.

Defeating someone earns you a base value of 1 rep (assuming you are solo). If your target's rep is 20 or more higher than yours, you earn 6 for defeating them.

With a handful of organized players, each with a few toons, you can manage a kill a minute or better.

One effective strategy is to have one high-rep target. Everyone takes turns killing that target for the 6 rep. Then everyone logs alts and the high-rep guy kills all of them to make sure he stays 20+ rep ahead of everyone. The high-rep guy needs to be a top damage-dealer since he'll need to kill hundreds of targets (unless he is starting with a very high rep). Everyone else needs less than 70 kills to hit 400, instead of 400 kills.

Once upon a time, when I organized this, I would be able to keep one of my guys close to 400 for weeks at a time. At this point, the rep would have long since degraded to zero.

I don't think this works any more. If you just lie there, you get sent to the hospital automatically after 2 minutes. Also, if you log in dead, you get sent immediately (before your screen even finishes drawing).

Of course the changes are diferent but isnt the concept of major changes without dialouge with your customrs more of the same.

They are programming as we talk about it and they ( the devs or their sub contractors, or their parent comp) are doing all this coding without any of our feedback or discussion with us,
There's nothing perplexing about it and they seem to be handling it correctly.

Think of it like a car company thinking about a new type of vehicle. They evaluate the market to see if there is demand. Do people want a crossover, small SUV, big sedan, whatever.

Does this community want side-switching? OMG yes. They have been frothing at the mouth about it for a long time.

Now the car company needs to decide about interior details, power train characteristics, engine size, audio system, etc. They sure as hell do NOT try to get feedback on every single detail. They're professionals. They can make these decisions on their own. Will they get them all right? No. But if they look for customer feedback on every possible option, nothing will ever get finished.

There are thousands of nitpicky little decisions the devs need to make. Doing this without consulting the community is the most efficient way to do it. *THEN* they have a beta period during which they get customer feedback. This way, we can evaluate things *IN CONTEXT*. You're worried about storage under the new system. Well, what if the new system adds going rogue AND makes changes to storage? What if SG structure is also affected? Answering one thing is just going to lead to more "What if?" Wait and see how it works AS A COMPLETE SYSTEM.

On this specific question: WE DON'T KNOW. Furthermore, I believe the last update from the devs is that they don't know yet either. Ask a thousand times and you still won't get an answer.

As for the stuff stored in the SG base, none of that will be lost as long as you don't do anything careless.

What you need to do is wait for official details to be announced on how SG's will be handled. I would expect it to be about TWO MONTHS before this information is finalized and made available. If you have any questions THEN, or need clarification, feel free to come back and ask us.

    1) Don't make lists.
    2) When you make lists, use letters instead of numbers.

I'll probably pre-order it. Probably only for one account, though. My main character likes to have as many badges, temp powers and costume parts as possible.

Oh, and on this point: you'll have to wait and see. The devs are not going to answer such detailed questions this far in advance. From what we have been hearing, it seems some of these decisions have not even been made yet.

If I'm understanding your concerns correctly, we don't need a redname to chime in to answer anything.

If a character leaves a supergroup, they no longer have access to the items in the SG storage. It doesn't matter if it's a 'personal SG' or 'one man SG'. The game system does not make that distinction. If Mighty Joe Hero is superleader of an SG and has 400 enhancements in the bins and leaves the SG, he no longer has access to those enhancements. Plain and simple. The items are not in any way "in jeopardy". The only thing in jeopardy is that one character being able to access them.

Taking a slightly different tack, none of the things you mentioned are put in jeopardy by Going Rogue. They MIGHT be put in jeopardy based on YOUR CHOICES. If you CHOOSE to go rogue, that's your decision. There is no way you will lose leadership or access to your stuff unless YOU DECIDE to take actions that have that result. The superGROUP system is not designed to accommodate solo SG's. Do NOT expect that to change for your convenience.

By the way, I think the system makes a great deal of sense the way it is currently and would STRONGLY oppose changes along the lines that you seem to want. (Not because I have any issue with you; because I think it would be bad for the game.)

Not at all. It can be an extremely effective power if you have the right powers to complement it. Picture this, which I do with my fire/fire brute when the team is faced with a group we don't think we can handle:
    Fire Sword Circle (moderate damage)
    Self Destruction (extreme damage)
Rise of the Phoenix (extreme damage)

Not much left at that point and no debt for anyone.

Big emphasis on that part. When I'm on a team with someone, and they say something brainless to me, I don't let it bother me. By the next mission, I've forgotten it.

Let's see... something I was told once....
Everyone sometimes says things that are wise or beneficial. And everyone sometimes says things that are garbage. Unfortunately, most people around them let the good stuff pass by and fixate on the garbage. Try it the other way around. When someone says something insightful, or helpful to you, react accordingly. When someone says something stupid, let it slide. Ignore it.

5% more is blocking exactly as many shots as the first 40%.

Sure, because you keep repeating the same WRONG statements.

    Based on 100 attacks:
With no defense, 50 fail to hit.
With 40% defense, 90 fail to hit.
With 45% defense, 95 fail to hit.

You see, this is flat-out wrong.
Let's rephrase: Having 45% defense causes you to be hit half as much as 40% defense. True.
However, this is NOT the same as saying that that final 5% stops as many attacks as the first 40%. That is plain false. The first 40% of defense stops 4/5 of the attacks that would have hit. The extra 5% stops half of the remainder.

    Minor correction: *TWO*
You need 3 to start. If one then QUITS the task force, it WILL downgrade to spawning for TWO people. Having TF's not downgrade below the minimum required to start was only in effect for a short time.
  15. Really? I did a few task forces this weekend. I don't recall being solo for any of them.

Still third? Off and on. We still jockey for position with Justice a lot of the time.

With the free server transfers, pretty much anyone who has complaints about the population (on ANY server) have moved to Freedom. Definitely the PvP'ers went there.

Invuln is a very powerful set. It never sucked and it got some buffs not too long ago.

EM, in most people's opinions, got nerfed a bit recently. It still performs more than 'acceptably', but it's definitely not a set for someone who wants to be the team's heavy hitter.

I would have no hesitation taking /EM today, except that I already did. I'm working my way through the sets: Inv/EM, Ice/SS, Fire/Fire, SD/Axe, Dark/Dark, currently leveling a WP/Ice.

He can't get the taunt aura until level 18. As for Taunt, I NEVER take it before I at least have DO's to enhance my durability. At level 11, a tank *IS* a scranker because their defenses are mostly a joke.

As for the rest of the post, you really must stop paying attention to idiots. You had some real boneheads on that team.

Yeah, sometimes I think they're on drugs.

I was setting up to craft a bunch of Steadfast -knockbacks (or maybe it was the Karma's) last night and needed a bunch of salvage. One item showed the last five ranging from 25,000 to 40,000 influence with 1500 for sale and 3 bidding. Give me a break. I put in my bids at under 2,000 and went to take care of something else before I logged. One bid filled before I logged out and I'm sure all will be filled by the time I log on tonight.

Yes, I will routinely buy recipes costing millions (or tens of millions) but I refuse to be gouged for an extra 38K on common salvage. That's how I roll!

Sure enough as soon as the first wave or two passed me they walked about a hundred feet, milled around in the street and the ghost spawned.

Winter Lord came up while we were fighting him, and Ghost came up while we were fighting WL... or did he come up while we were waiting for the present? At any rate it was within 15 minutes of his previous defeat.

In retrospect it was kind of funny that we were actually preventing him from spawning by doing the thing we thought would trigger him.
Actually, according to everyone else's observations, you neither prevented nor encouraged his spawning. If the information provided by the devs is accurate, your actions had zero impact on him spawning.

45% defense means that you have a 5% chance to be hit. This reduces your damage taken to 1/10, twice the effectiveness of 40%.

Phrasing it that way is flat-out wrong.
Using your numbers, if we start with 100 pts of incoming damage:
Someone with no defense takes 50. 50 pts are avoided.
The 40% defense person takes 10. 90 pts are avoided.
The 45% defense person takes 5. 95 pts are avoided.

The first 40% defense prevents 40 pts of damage. The 45% defense prevents only 5 additional pts.

Yes. However, the character doing the promoting and the character being promoted must BOTH be online AT THE SAME TIME. If you can't arrange that, then you have a problem. Sort of. If you plan ahead, you can simply have the superleader leave and the position will go to the character you want in charge.

Yes. For your purposes, you seem to be okay on this. For someone looking to profit from it, the side-switching process has been stated that it will be time-consuming. It will involve missions. We have no firm information on how many or how long it might take.
