  1. Yeah, there's an entry for the badge, which will always be there.
Plus, there is an entry for items to be claimed, which MIGHT go away.

(You can only claim a power once, so the entry goes away. You can claim the base items multiple times, so the entry stays.)

You are correct that only the summoned illusionists counted (and the other guys count also now).
The number, however, has changed more than once. It was 200, then 500, now 100.

Yes, BUT - the SIZE of a stick of RAM does not correlate to the SPEED of the RAM. So, for all you know, the small sticks can run at the highest speed your mobo will support and the 1GB stick is the slow one.

Having said that, for a game like CoH, the AMOUNT of RAM is far more important. Keep it all in there.

I think what the second person was actually taking issue with is that the floors in an office building are all over the place. The vast majority of buildings I have been in are the same SIZE on each floor and have the elevators in standard locations.

Let's not even bring up the fact that these buildings seem to have elevators that only connect 2 consecutive floors and are at random locations throughout the building.

Coordinating by voice isn't really efficient. A better method is for each person to use a keybind that announces on team channel and simultaneously triggers the Recall power. Thus, the next person can start their power BEFORE the person is even teleported so it will trigger as quickly as possible after the previous jump. And so on, down the team list.

In order to have the best of both worlds, you can use google and force it to restrict the results to the correct site. If you wanted to search for base items, you would search for:

    base items site:paragonwiki.com

Amusing, when I first typed the above text and previewed it, it looked like this:
    base items sitearagonwiki.com

Did you read the rest of the thread? What they are talking about is the option to turn influence off so that you earn additional prestige.

Well, that sounds fine, too. I have a Core2 Duo and typically run 59-60C with CPU utilization at 100%.

Oh well. Those were the obvious things based on the symptoms.
Let us know if swapping memory sticks in/out shows anything.

Offhand, sounds like overheating. The highlighted part makes it sound like it's the video card overheating.

But some of us are just deranged. I did the Dr Q task force again on Saturday on a toon that already has the badge.

    Boss 'C' Drops

I haven't been playing super-close attention to this. I think I've gotten a handful. What I *DID* notice was that I got the first one within a week of the change and it was a LotG +recharge. I also got a Numina unique a few weeks after that.

I've probably gotten a few that I didn't notice because they didn't strike me as noteworthy so I didn't realize they were Pool C.
  14. I would do it because it's a way to get MORE prestige. The exchange rate for converting infl to prestige is abysmal. If I could turn off influence to get double prestige, I would.

I think I get more influence from selling drops than from defeating enemies or mission bonuses anyway. A lot more. Especially if I'm fighting 50's where one purple drop can yield more influence than months of missions.

    Wentworth Lag

Is this recent? I was in-game not more than 5 minutes ago and posted 4 items, one of which sold immediately and I retrieved the influence immediately.

FYI, I deliberately pick a Wentworths location that is usually empty. I think having a crowd in there just puts more stress on your computer.

    New Tank

Fire is great if 1) you really want to focus on damage and 2) you're not going to try to tank big nasty enemies for a full team. I'm not saying a fire tank can't do it, but probably not when in the hands of someone with no tank experience.

I've played Invuln, Fire, Ice, Shield, Dark, and Willpower in that order. The Willpower tank is 29. The others are all 50. Let me be clear up front, I have not been disappointed with ANY armor set so far - keeping in mind that I had some idea in advance what each one was 'best' for.

Of the sets I have played, for a first-time tank player, I would recommend without hesitation Invuln, Ice, Shield or Willpower. If I had to list them in order of 'newb friendly' and simple/easy.... hmm..... actually, that's really tough. Let me make some comments on each:

Invuln - 'Classic' tank set, in my opinion. This is primarily a resistance set, but also has considerable defense (many call it a 'blended set'). It can be a little discouraging early on, as you'll feel kind of squishy before level 22 (i.e. when you get SO's). At higher levels, and with a little fine tuning, can be incredibly tough.

Ice and Shield - These are both primarily defense sets: ice is typed defense (smashing, fire, energy, etc) while shield is positional defense (melee, range, AoE). Both start to feel 'tanky' earlier than invuln. (Really, after invuln, I was surprised how effective these sets were while playing through the Hollows - level 5-15.) Ice is a little more 'clicky' and you need the click powers for your survival, but I feel they give you more options in battle. I think shield is a bit more durable to start with, but you have less options to fall back on.

Willpower - Only level 29 so far but very pleased with the set. WP has some resistance and some defense but what it really focuses on is regeneration. The more enemies around you, the faster you heal. If you take this set, note that it has a +regeneration power that is better than Health and a +recovery power that is better than Stamina. This gives you the option of skipping the Fitness pool and finding 3 other powers to take. Many people take Fitness anyway - and make no mistake, the extra healing and recovery are a big benefit - but you have the OPTION to skip it.

    Some random comments:
If the way the character looks is a factor, take Shield. I think it's the best LOOKING of the four. There are lots of shield options and you can add more by unlocking them (the really cool ones are available at level 35).

You say you're new to melee in general. Maybe a scrapper would be a better first melee toon.

Getting ahead of the 'Taunt argument'. Some people will say you don't need Taunt. Some people will say you can't be a good tank without Taunt. BOTH are wrong (and also stupid for making such sweeping statements). I've taken tanks to 50 both WITH and WITHOUT Taunt. My advice to you, since this is your FIRST tank, take Taunt and try it out. Decide FOR YOURSELF if you like it or need it. You can always respec out of it later or decide differently for your next tank.

Seriously, though, these 4 sets are all really good. If you want to focus on the 'simple' aspect, Willpower is probably the simplest. Shield has the status protection as a click, but you can set it to auto-fire. Invuln has Dull Pain, but it's a really good click power (massive heal). Ice might be the least 'new player friendly' of the four.

Edit: I notice Heraclea said, "Shields is also quite straightforward, high concept, and fun." Don't underestimate that fun part. Find someone with a shield tank and ask them to demonstrate the power Shield Charge for you. The most fun power in any armor set, in my opinion.

We have two Orbits of Control in our control room, partially overlapping. It looks really cool (and I don't care for the fact that the tier 3 control sticks to the ceiling).

I keep thinking this is a nice opportunity to get a higher population on Virtue and Freedom (or some of the other servers) so that more people are available to team and in general have fun with. Some servers (like Liberty and Infinity) seem all but deserted.
I recall the issues with Freedom and Virtue getting locked out during events. I guess, now that they have a login queue implemented, they want to dogpile on those servers again. BTW, Infinity's position on the login list jumps all over the place and I'm not sure why. During high traffic hours, it's often 3rd or 4th, but I've seen it as low as 8th in 'off hours'.

    Quote:
So, where are people going? Are you staying there or going back?
Staying on Infinity. I run 3 SG's and 1 VG there, plus I'm an officer in 2 other SG's and a VG, plus a 'rank and file guy' in a couple other SG's.

Any speculation on why they decided to give free server transfers?
    Dunno. I have some theories:
    1) Stress the hell out of Freedom and Virtue.
    2) Let people move 'specialty' toons around. (For example, the mass move of PvP'ers to Freedom.)
    3) Many people have stated there should be server mergers while many others have said, "Don't you dare mess with my server." This allows all those who want the mergers to crowd into Freedom or Virtue, while the people that don't want to be forced to move can stay where they are.
    4) All of the above?
  20. Nope, sadly, not possible.
If it was possible, I'd be doing it. All of my characters, red and blue on all servers, are in SG mode at all times.

I've seen this also. As a quicker fix than opening the hide listing, you can just do /hideall immediately followed by /unhideall.
