  1. Okay, I'm massively poor redside so thinking about farming. I have a 50 fire/fire brute and 50 fire/thermal corruptor. Due to exclusively teaming and doing other people's missions, neither of them has done any 45-50 contacts except their patrons.

I imagine the brute would be better for farming. Whose missions would you recommend for 'classic' farming?

Yo, Eran, I'mma let you finish, but Psoma has the best comeback of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Yes, I really do think Kanye deserves more taunting and mockery over this.

Well, there's your problem. In my opinion, most tank sets stink pretty bad until you can get SO's.
And when I say "stink", I don't really mean that they're awful to play. They just aren't much like tanks yet.
  4. Well, I can't recall, but ParagonWiki says:

Several normally City of Villain only badges were available to heroes in this part of the event. Weed Whacker Badge, Coldblooded Badge, and two gladiators. These badges are for certain villain style Circle of Thorns enemies. When done right, Scratch's first mission gave heroes access to these enemies, and thus the badges. In order to spawn a map with City of Villain style Circle of Thorn enemies, a villain must be the first player to zone into the map. This flags the entire mission for City of Villain style enemies, and the rest of the team can then enter. The enemies necessary for the different badges spawn at different levels. Hordelings, for Coldblooded and one of the gladiators, spawn for lower level mission holders (levels 8-25), while Hellfrost and Succubi, for Weed Whacker, spawn at mid to high levels (25-40 or so).

Okay, if we want to make special mention of where people go wrong - one of the top ones is the 'Rescue the Prisoner' mission from Maria Jenkins. Black Swan is on the map, but is not a mission objective and you can complete the mission without even seeing her.

I think most of the supply and most of the influence are generated by 'hardcore' players who have not gone anywhere.

I think the casual players generate more supply than influence but don't have a big impact either way. (Just my guess, but I would think that a casual player getting their first purple is likely to sell it rather than try to get the rest of the set.)

The fact that the trade window wasn't designed by idiots.
    1. Both parties (or just one) put stuff in the trade window.
    2. One person accepts the transaction and makes it available for the other to accept.
    3. If *EITHER* party then changes their trade, it deactivates the accept button and the transaction starts over.
So the ploy that you describe simply does not work.

On the other hand, some of us have built multiple systems with parts from NewEgg and never had a problem. I've used TigerDirect a couple of times and they were good also. Not familiar with Insight.

It can be. I remember one guy who had a computer with a hard drive that was acting up. He could hear the drive seeking, but it would never start reading the data but firmly tapping the computer case would get it going again.
  10. Liberator is the accomplishment badge for completing the Eden trial.

    Perhaps you meant 'Power Liberator'.....

Okay, we respect that you won't be playing the game. This 'reason' is still bogus, though.

If no one is playing the game over here then that's too bad. It's not my fault the game has died in the UK, and given there are NO other players in the game it clearly has. I'm not waiting till 9pm every night on the off chance a bunch of players around my level will appear. What is needed is a busy server, and that isn't the case. There is nothing that anyone can show or do about any of these things.
Okay, then, I guess it's time to wrap this up and move on, isn't it?

    Game Crashing

    Yes.
RAM usage gradually goes up and up and, somewhere between 1.3 and 1.4GB usage, CoH just goes splat when I do anything 'different' (opening Wentworth's, pulling up info on another player, or just zoning).

Oh, and when it started doing this, I ran my usual anti-virus and anti-malware, plus another anti-malware, plus I defragged and ran a registry cleaner. Performance overall seems better, but it still crashes after several hours of play when RAM usages exceeds 1.3GB.

You left out the space station, on the way to the Moon, from Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century.
  14. Actually, a dark defender is pretty good for soloing. I soloed most of the RWZ arcs on mine, including some where I had to fight two Vanguard bosses (sorcerers) at once, or the two automatons in the shard mission from Dark Watcher (as EB's, not AV's).

Having said that, you'll solo faster with a scrapper or brute. Blasters and corruptors are also very good for soloing since you won't be facing large groups (unless you up your difficulty settings). Just carry some Break Frees, in case you get mezzed.
  15. hmm... was that malice or was it snark?

I would agree if I had bought the pack just for that power. However, I would have bought that booster even if the Self Destruct was not included so I feel like I got a free bonus.

    Heck yeah, I use it.
Firstly, once you have triggered the power it *WILL* go off and deal damage, even if you are killed before the explosion.

Second, once you have triggered the power, it counts as you defeating yourself and you get no debt - even if enemies kill you before the explosion.

Finally, if you have a self-rez, the power is quite useful. My fire/fire brute loves it. Charge in, throw some AoE, trigger Self Destruct before the enemy can kill him. Trigger Rise of the Phoenix immediately after the explosion. Not much lives through that.
  18. hm... tough call who to bring. My earth/rad is level 41, but I might bring Ironblade instead. At any rate, sign me up for team one.

FYI, zone load time is based on YOUR computer performance. The zones are not being loaded from NCSoft's computers to yours - they are being loaded from YOUR hard drive to YOUR memory, so upgrading your internet connection won't help. Adding more RAM to computer often will help, particularly if you have less than 2GB.

In Photoshop? Erase the background then save it in a file format that allows transparency.

  23. There are some incredibly obscure ones. I was on a TF and the leader advised it would go pretty quickly because they had a CS.

CS = Contact Sitter - a character who just sits at the contact for the ones that never give you a phone number.

Respect? No one was disrespecting you. We're just warning you that you'll probably have some performance issues due to hardware.

Generally speaking, when a game (or any other software) lists "minimum hardware requirements", you should read it as "the software will run, but you WILL notice performance issues".
