Okay.....
Compiling the posts and pictures into a Word document so I have a record of this.....
Updated version of Ironblade copied to beta......
/e await_further_developments -
Well, since there's only been one suggestion, I guess that one wins.

Quote:Short-term vs long-term.Well in that case Apple did it wrong by releasing the iPad Mini, the iPhone 5, refreshing the Mac lines.....
Only saying this because Apple's stock has dropped since the release of the iPhone 5 and all of these things, so Apple have been doing it all wrong?
Benjamin Graham said that, in the short term, the stock market is a VOTING machine. Stock prices are determined by investor sentiment. In the long term, the market is a WEIGHING machine and stock prices accurately reflect the value of the underlying company. -
Excellent thread.

This is always a spurious argument. Sometimes our 'fellow man' is a scumbag. Never forget this. Every situation has its own merits.

Oh, sure, in TSW, where the 'Meet Up' function lets you temporarily travel to any server to join your teammates.... you're having it on my home server.
I'll have to make a copy of Ironblade on Virtue...... -
Quote:Yes and no.If NCSoft decided, for whatever reason, to turn Payments back on and Keep the Game...
Would You Stay?
I would keep playing so I could use up some of those Paragon Points I have lying around (thousands).
I would NOT re-subscribe as long as the future of the game was still in the hands of the same idiots. -

We've been trying. Where were you?
hmm..... Join date November 2012 and 2 posts.....
Someone posting on their 2nd or 3rd account so they can use a different name?
I mean, you can no longer create GAME accounts, so this must be a pre-existing account that never signed up on the forums. -
Just over $6.5 million at this point.
I signed up during the earlier part of the funding drive.
I think it was around 4 mill at that point. -
-
Well, I'll be around. No idea what we should do for the last task force. Any suggestions?

Quote:Yeah, it seemed kind of chintzy. But wow. Can't pay base rent just cause I don't have a sub? Wow... that's really retarded.
Quote:And you'd think they'd let that slide with the game ending anyways. -
Not seeing any image, link or anything.
And I do play TSW, so I'm interested...... -
And, from the same article:
"The Teamsters remain stuck in a time warp, unwilling to sufficiently adapt in a competitive marketplace."
Selective quotes can work both ways.
And the conclusion you quoted was written by some nobody who was summarizing and excerpting other articles. A better summary, from CNNMoney/Fortune.com said:
"But in truth there are no black hats or white knights in this tale. Its about shades of gray, where obstinacy, miscalculation, and lousy luck connived to create corporate catastrophe. Almost none of the parties involved would speak on the record. Still, its clear from court documents and background interviews with a range of sources that practically nobody involved can shoot straight: The Teamsters remain stuck in a time warp, unwilling to sufficiently adapt in a competitive marketplace. The PE firm failed to turn Hostess around after taking it over. The hedgies cant see beyond their internal rates of return. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera."
Sounds like there's plenty of blame for all parties involved. -

Quote:Or the unions abused whatever power they had, just like the auto workers unions. Every car made by the big three had something like $2500 of extra costs due to the unions. This made them a failing proposition on the world market.Still blaming the victim, I see. This particular ship would not have been in trouble in the first place if the ones in charge actually treated their workers fairly to begin with.
We get that you support the workers in this case. But the rest of us don't actually know who is to blame. -
Quote:Yep, we've now got some nice biased nonsense from both sides. The simple facts are as follows:I've seen both unions and management make some pretty boneheaded demands at various jobs I've had so I've learned not to listen to the propaganda from either side. The truth almost always lies somewhere between what each side is claiming.
1) Workers are sometimes abused by greedy companies and need to be protected.
2) More than one company has been destroyed by greedy unions.
There SHOULD be a happy middle ground, but it's against human nature. If management has the upper hand, it's human nature to underpay and overwork people. If the unions have the upper hand, it's human nature to get every benefit possible, even if the company can't afford it. -
Quote:Not really. The ONLY thing it tells us is that one person was offended. This is the internet. I can say that the sun rises in the east and find someone who will be offended about it. Without seeing the posts in question, and having cultural knowledge, we don't know if it was actually offensive or if you're just picking a fight.Let's put it this way: As a Korean I was offended enough to leave Titan...that should tell them something;
