Quote:And factually incorrect. Freedom has more of EVERYTHING than most of the other servers. More people in AE, sure. But also more people doing iTrials, more people running regular missions, more people doing task forces, etc.Architect just doesn't cut it for me. NOBODY does actual missions on the Freedom server, they're all powerleveling or farming in Architect. It's stupid and boring.

Quote:The wiki is infinitely more authoritative than you so far in this thread, simply because you've been completely wrong and the wiki is mostly accurate. The wiki is a 'hangout' for experts, FYI.I read the wiki but I don't consider it the final authority. The wiki is the young, inexperienced players hangout. They want to comment with authority but they have minimum actual game playing time so they quote from there to try to have their comments sound stronger.
You were CORRECTED while dishing out misinformation. Big difference.
I think that emoticon means he knows this is untrue. Maybe. It is definitely untrue. I'm just not sure if he knows that or not. -
Quote:Absolutely WRONG. Wrong in every detail.I forgot to add this but reading your comments, you must be in close proximity and make the killing shot for the purple.
Also, to the OP: The amount of damage your character does has NOTHING to do with your drops. Your influence, XP, inspirations, recipes, salvage, whatever are unaffected by playing a low damage or high damage character. (While on a team. If you're solo, damage affects how fast you can defeat stuff and absolutely affects your drops.)
Note: There is a separate system in place for the final reward in Incarnate Trials only. We're not entirely sure how that works. -
I don't think it was ever really reliably determined. The estimates bandied about seem to be from 1/1500 to 1/5000.

Quote:Perhaps, but . . .I know for a melee character most people would say Invisibility is pointless,
Looking awesome is its own point.Quote:Since it's beta and everything's free I threw in stealth and invis just to see how the toggles looked while invisible....it's pretty awesome.

Quote:You're mistaken. So, it hasn't been discussed and or addressed in a while, and I really think it needs to...

Nope. I get "good names" all the time.Quote:All of the good names are taken. All of them. And by "good names" I mean iconic heroic names that you could see on the cover of a comic.
Actually, it would probably make very few, if any, people happy. It won't free up as many "good names" as you think. This has been observed from previous times the script was run.Quote:Almost four years ago, the names were freed from accounts that have been inactive for a very long time under certain character level restrictions, and I feel like it is long overdue for this glorious event to take place again. Four years is a long time ago. Can we please see this happen again? It would make so many people happy!
Negative. We were told, very plainly, the parameters that the script applies and that it could be run AT ANY TIME with NO FURTHER NOTICE OR WARNING. For all we know, they have run it 42 times since then.Quote:Every time this is done, it is prefaced by an announcement to all current and prior CoH customers explaining what is being done and when.
See my above comment. For all we know, it was run yesterday. -
Play stalkers much? Once you successfully initiate the attack, your target can run 30 ft away and still get nailed. I do that all the time. I'll be first to a spawn, then wait for the rest of the team. As soon as someone else gets noticed, I fire Assassin's Strike. The entire crowd runs to attack other people and my target gets impaled by my sword while standing 20-30 ft away.

Quote:Common sense - so rare it's a superpower.First point of order; No, this doesn't belong in suggestions. This should be common, god damned sense.
BTW, profanity doesn't help make your point. It just makes it seem like you couldn't come up with a coherent argument.
Oh, probably doing their jobs. Seriously. Does it occur to you that this may be a problem with the software itself, which was not written by NCSoft?Quote:Second. It's been how long since the unannounced logout bug has been around, and it STILL hasn't been fixed?
Who runs the forums? What are they doing with their time, exactly?
Seriously. -

Quote:And you never will. CHANGING alignment doesn't get you Alignment Merits. REAFFIRMING your alignment is how you earn them. i.e. Being a hero and then doing 10 tips and a HERO alignment mission. Only Heroes and Villains can earn them (i.e. Rogues and Vigilantes are hosed). The FIRST time you REAFFIRM your alignment, you get regular reward merits. Every additional time you do it, you get one Alignment Merit.I did the side switching with my Scrapper (Hero-all the way to Villian-now currently at Rogue) But I dont remember seeing any Merits in his Salvage.
NOTE: If you have Alignment Merits and then change your alignment, YOU LOSE THEM! THEY GO POOF! Be sure to spend any Alignment Merits before changing alignment.
Yep. For Heroes, it's Fort Trident in Atlas Park. For Villains it's The Crucible, which is in Cap au Diable.Quote:Also, do you have to go anywhere special to cash them? Some kind of merit vendor I imagine
As for the original question of the best way to get the LotG:+recharge - it depends. Which is easier for you and/or do you enjoy more?
1) Tip missions.
2) Task forces / Ouro arcs.
3) Earning inf.
Personally, I love doing task forces. My main character has over 6,000 reward merits currently.
I also buy a lot of them at Wentworths. At any time, I have a few bids up for 80-100 million inf. Eventually, they get filled. It might take months but, as long as I'm buying well in advance of needing them, who cares how long it takes? -
Quote:Probably never going to happen as I've never heard of this being requested before. After recently accidentally deleting a purple recipe, i'm quite annoyed. And what i'm saying has been in my thoughts a while now. But there needs to be 2 things to avoid this. One, being able to select WHAT kinds of recipes/salvage you're being notified before deleting.
And, if it does happen, it won't be any time soon. This change would require programming and that department is 'booked solid' for months. (Tunnel Rat mentioned that today in an FX thread.) -
Quote:On a related (sort of) note: I was on an ITF the other day and someone wanted to make it a Master run, so we did. Imagine my surprise that my Raptor Pack worked just fine. Apparently, temporary travel powers count as 'travel' and not 'temporary'.
* Corrected power disabling flags in Incarnate Trials, Ouroboros, and PVP zones.
* Travel Temps, Costume Powers and MTX Powers are restored for use in Incarnate Trials. -
We need more information. A screenshot of the billions of dots might help. More importantly, go to this thread at the top of this forum section and start with the section about CoHHelper so we can see what kind of hardware you have.

Quote:Apparently he made some other bad career choices. I understand he was offered the role of Gandalf in Lord of the Rings and turned it down because he didn't 'get' the film.Kids, let this be a lesson. This is what happens when you're part of a successful franchise and then you decide to say "never again" and walk away. Then you get stuck doing dreck like "Zardoz."

Or click a big blue button at the top of the Enhancement screen, then mouse over the power you want to see stats for. The buttons are labeled something like "SHOW DETAILS".
Also, if you want to check out a power from a set that you don't have, you can type the name in the chat window inside square brackets. For example:
[Invincibility] (and hit ENTER)
When the 'spoken' text appears in the window, the power will be in BOLD and you can click it to bring up the power details.
This works for ALL powers, even monster ones. For example, try:
[Dry Heave]
[Projectile Vomit]
[Fetid Howl]
Great names, eh?

Please note: by DEFAULT, the minimap does NOT show league-mates, only team-mates. You need to open up your map options and set it to show league-mates.

A more powerful CPU and more RAM that running one. I used to run 2 instances on a Core2 Duo with 2GB of RAM. Sluggish, but it worked. Four GB should take care of the sluggishness.
If you're running two instances in windowed mode, and have them side by side, the card is only rendering as much screen real estate as one instance at full size so it shouldn't be working any harder. Yes? No? Am I completely off-base in this belief? -
Quote:And yet I've done this on multiple controllers without the carnage you describe. If you wander off alone, you're toast. Just about anyone is. Follow a tank and it greatly improves your survival.I've posted this before and I guess I need to again.
LAMDA is pointless to do if you're a squishy, in particular one which has just got to 50.
As trite and overused as the line is, if you're dying that much, you're doing something wrong.
