Quote:Yeah, I remember seeing it first run and felt like I was one of the few people who did see it at the time. I also remember feeling disappointed that the TV series that was supposed to come from it fell through. Paul McGann at least was able to continue his series run through the radio shows. It was a movie that was supposed to be a back-door pilot to a new series.
Actually it wasn't a lack of interest from the audience. It was purely craptacular mis-handling by Fox. Poor advertising, they dropped it into a timeslot that had it going head-to-head with hugely popular shows of the time, and in some areas, it was pre-empted by more than an hour (forgetting what pre-empted it the moment, my brain's making a sound suspiciously like PBBBBBBT!)
As such, the ratings stateside were DISMAL (and that's only if you're a crack-addled, hyperactive optimist). As such, the interest from Universal and Fox was something rapidly approaching ZERO.
Without the interest (and cash influx), the reboot project died. -
Quote:That wasn't a movie. It was a pilot for a American boot of the TV series that didn't get past that stage due to the lack of interest from the American audience for it at the time. Plus, it is counted as cannon for the TV series continuity, and Paul Mcgann the Official Seventh Doctor, which the Peter Cushing movies aren't.This one, as mentioned by Attercap earlier.

Quote:There's also this movie.I believe they are talking about this movie:

Notice that he's not even "Doctor", but "Dr." -
I've seen every Doctor Who episode since the first doctor, as well as the Peter Cushing movies. I just think that fans of Doctor Who would climb to the theaters to see the untold origins of The Doctor, as well as give the writers a blanks slate that couldn't really break continuity, also it would give the mainstream a good launch point for introducing the character. Sorta a redo without actually being one since it actually hadn't been done.

There was a reason Sasha Grey was the "it" girl in porn, other than reputation and willingness to do the most hardcore stuff. She proved she had great screen presence outside of the porn she did through her stints as a host for G4. Then she did a couple of indy flicks to show she had real acting ability as well. What's shocking is the mainstream actually giving her a chance. Regardless, she earned it, there's no denying that.

I'd do a prequel of sorts with a young doctor when he first steals the TARDIS and runs away whose misadventures culminates into his meeting with his first wife. The Doctor should be William Hartnell (possibly Patrick Troughton) inspired but more brash and naive, like Professor X in the X-Men First Class.
The villain should be the Master and a new alien race, and no Daleks should appear in it...I mean it...really...you heard me...or else. -

Both Mod Squad and Miami Vice went the traditional procedial route with added grit, and they both didn't do so well. Maybe comedy will work? Maybe...? Yeah even I don't believe that.

Long before CoH came out, my brother had thought of a character that can absorb kinetic energy from moving objects by touch and use it to propel himself or others in a sliding/skating fashion, making basically a human carrom puck...hence his name Carrom. In CoH he was able to create the character with a combination of the kinetic set and the slide power. He's one of the characters in this video trailer I had made...and really need to finish the full movie to sometime.
Edit: Come to think of it. In the comics, I think Marvel's Speedball comes the closest to emulating someone using the kinetics power. -
Quote:I've seen Wilfred, this show is nothing like Wilfred. To me Grimm is pretty much the Dylan Dog movie (not comic) in premise, guy born to police the supernatural, except the kookie zombie sidekick is now a kookie werewolf sidekick and they hunt fairytale creatures instead of the undead. This part of Grimm almost seems like a semi-ripoff of something like Wilfred.
It's basically the same idea since the main guy is the only one who can see the wolf-guy as a wolf-guy.
I guess we'll see how it plays out. *shrugs* -

I'm a Donatello through and through. He's also my favorite turtle.

Foreward. Another video ripped from a DVR shows the clock on the building clearly moving forward at least 45 minutes through the entire clip.

Quote:My guess its several objects, some planes, some insects, and possibly a meteorite in there. They are all made similar in appearance due to a slow camera shutter in the time lapsed video.Am I the only one who noticed that there are three of those things in that video? There's the first one that swoops in from upper right to lower left, then one that just cuts across the upper left corner of the screen, and then finally the one that seems to swoop down and then level off.
-
It could be anything. The video is time lapsed confusing the matter, you can tell by the people moving at superspeed on the lower left corner.

Quote:So it begins. I kinda understand the State's descision on this, but I still think its crap.Yes he does. I'm actually interested now in seeing how this whole thing plays out over the next few months or so, not just for him, but for the RLSH community as a whole.

For good werewolf films, I have to go with:
Blood and Chocolate - Beautiful transformation and one of the few werewolves in which the characters turn into actual wolves.
Silver Bullet - One of the better Stephen King adaptations.
Ginger Snaps (All three) - The sisters were great characters in all 3 movies. I even liked Ghost in 2.
The Howling - Classic werewolf movie, with still one of the best looking werewolves on film.
The Company of Wolves - Great take on the Red Riding Hood legend, and with a really interesting transformation sequence.
Wolf - Better than the new Wolf Man movie.
An American Werewolf of London - Another classic of werewolf films. Also a great looking wolf.
Dog Soldiers - Probably the best movie of the lot. -

The Swedish movie "Let the Right One In" or the US version "Let Me In" are both good movies with a viscious vampire but also shows why people become entrance by her regardless. I know this will probably sound sacreligious to fans of the Swedish film, but I kind of liked the US version better.
"Fright Night", both original and remake are very good classic Vampire films as well, the original a bit more classic then the remake. -
I kind of fear snow, well maybe not fear but avoid... When I was 10, I had a persistent nightmare every night for a year where I die in an avalanche. Since then I have avoided winter trips to the mountains and snowy areas in general. just in case.
I don't fear anything else. -
Anyone else notice Grimm's resemblance to Dylan Dog? Even the main character looks kinda like Brandon Routh.

Quote:In every movie, tv show, or book about immortals, vampires, or time travellers they are always found out by someone finding a tin type or old newspaper picture or painting of them. Then the said suspected immortal, vampire, or time traveller is investigated further. There's only so many faces. There's bound to be repeats every now and then...
By trope, those pictures are enough to suspect Travolta and Nic Cage of immortality, vampirism or time travel ability, and should be investigated. Also Keanu Reeves is suspect. -
