Quote:After what Stewart did to Fox New recently, I have to say he deserves an Emmy. It's been one of the most funny and exposing thing I've seen on that show or any other.I prefer the Kilborn Daily Show, less preachy more funny. While I like both Stewart and Colbert as comedy talent, their shows just aren't as "awesome" to me as it is to others. I believe it's a generational thing.

It was a TV Series before. Maybe they can update it with Smart Phones, Tablets, 4Chan...

Actually, Patrick Bauchau would have made a great Picard.

Quote:The laser guns used by the Pentathlon does have recoil and use a mechanical trigger, except for the barrel it's pretty much built the same as an air soft gun. Costs, both monetary and to the environment (trying to find pellets after misses due to gravity and wind and msifires), are probably one of the things the Olympic commitee is attempting to aliviate with this change....
An no, lasers do not simulate a firearm. Response to recoil, taking gravity and wind into account, even the nature of the mechanical trigger and issues with proper maintenance and dealing with a misfire, are all important parts of the sport. Bicycles are dangerous too, maybe we should put them all on stationary bikes. That's a fair simulation, right? -
Quote:Well to be fair, the last Olympics held in America was bombed...by an American.Well, Chicago lost the Olympics to Rio de Janeiro because the commitee thought it'd be safer. Well, what's a little kidnapping nowadays?

Well it shows that the crowd is for Captain America, and that Captain America is definately a WWII period piece, inspite of how many times it's been stated by the director but for some reason people still don't believe it. Besides the people in that crowd will probably have less then 10 seconds of film time, I'm pretty sure they appreciate the coverage.

Not every...Wolverine was pretty good (despite the movie being bad) and I hear only good things about the Scott Pilgrim game...then there's Golden Eye. Movie games made long after the movie have also been very good...The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, The Warriors, Scarface: The World is Yours, and The Thing comes to mind.

I could see it, but Alice Eve was a far better contender. Unfortunately, looks like Alice Eve didn't want to do it.

I personally cannot wait to see the Gungan celebration scene in Naboo that got deleted at the end of Return of the Jedi, or the Jar Jar scene at the Cantina that got deleted from a New Hope with the comentary from Lucas saying "See they were always meant to be part of the series from the beginning.

Quote:Not many people have said they didn't like Scott Pilgrim on this thread or any other. Most gave only reason why they don't want to watch it over The Expendables or at all. I personally wanted to see both, but circumstances prevented me from watching The Expendables this weekend (and probably next weekend) so I can't really comment on how good or bad that movie is, and it would be hypocritical for me to do so, as it just irks me when people talk smack or even give high praise to something they haven't seen. The only recurring theme I see here is that the Scott Pilgrim crowd insists that by liking that movie they are somehow much more smarter than those who preferred The Expendables. It's just another case of a group complaining about people not liking their favorite movie.

Quote:That's just silly, there are a lot of popular "actors" that fall in that catagory Jack Nicholson, Clint Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Sean Connery, Ricky Gervais, Anna Faris, Bruce Campbell, Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Jason Biggs, Michael J. Fox, Jeff Goldblum, and so on. Many of which made whole carreers off of one character.I think the Cera hate comes from him playing basically the same character (not in my mind) in every movie: an awkward teenager/young man who has the same tics and characteristics as George Michael Bluth. Basically, Cera can't act.
Some have range enough to play even two characters like Ben Stiller (himself and Zoolander) and Harrison Ford (Cocky Badass before he turned 40, and Grissled Badass after he turned 40).
Talented actors like Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, among others who have wide range are in the minority in Hollywood and rightfully so. -
Quote:I always thought that how things just work in Canadaland. When you die there you explode into money, that's how they can afford the free health care.Usually, I have a problem with suspension of disbelief with movies set in the "real world" but this one started with the crazy early enough that I got used to it. And used it often enough that it was simply how things worked in this "world" and the times when they actively acknowledged the weirdness helped a lot for me. (Like asking the one girl why her mouth did that when she swore.)
The movie was full of EPIC! I agree with one critic that said the movie was basically a love story to video games. The fight scenes were way funny and cool, the music was just...wow! I totally geeked out when I saw Thomas Jane, Brandon Routhe, and Chris Evans. That guy with Thomas Jane was obviously supposed to be RDJ, too bad they couldn't get him to do the role. Anyone waiting in the wings, or are turned off by their perception of it or of Michael Cerra...seriously, get over yourself. Go see it NOW! -
Scott Pilgrim was EPIC! Up there as one of the best films I've seen this year. Now to see Expendables.

Quote:I didn't think the movie ones were that idiotic either.the movie Psychlos were idiots, but the ones in the book were greedy, manipulative corporate backstabbers. not stupid, just lazy.
My vote has to go to the inhabitants of Spengo, follow by the Precursors of Star Control. -
The Aliens in Battlefield Earth weren't that dumb they managed to take over the Earth and build cities inspite not being able to breath the atmosphere this actually something scientists today are trying to achieve. L. Ron Hubbard just made the Humans too smart. The frigg'n learned the Alien tech and to fly Harrier Jump Jets in a week through simulators.

If it was an after credits ending, it would have been alright. This clip reminded me of how much more I liked the first April, who looked more like the comic April, over the second one, who looked more like the cartoon April.

Quote:Did you see Reed Richards? Here's a link to all the homages in this trailer.Loved that split second Peter Parker homage! Great job on this video for sure...
