I've switch to e-books/comics instead of paper books/comics these days myself. Less space.

Personally, I blame the EDD. They force you to take any job offered to you else they stop sending checks. A man's gotta eat.

Isn't Tom the CEO of United Artist now, since his partner stepped down in 2008? Edit: Oh, I see, MGM now owns UA.

I kind of liked that they told Beast Boy's origin subtilty, but I see your point. Maybe they'll go into it more in future episodes.

    By the way fixed now.

I don't think Beast Boy was forced since he was on the show before. I'm kinda wondering if they'll acknowlege the fact that M'gann and Gar are now blood brother and sister.
  7. I LMAO during the Supergirl Vs Superman short. Why hasn't anyone done what Supergirl did to Superman before?

Actually their gripe was Bruce only trained at Grandmaster IP Man's school for 1 year before he was kicked out of the school due to pressure from the other students as Bruce wasn't full blooded Chinese. However, he continued training with IP Man's senior students William Cheung and Sihing Wong Shun Leung afterwards (mostly with William Cheung who grew up with Bruce Lee).

    Ward must have been terrified
Kato was winning that fight anyway
Though Batman was seriously kicking Green Hornet's behind!
  10. I think we're safe. I have a copy of the book of the dead with translations. The spells in it mainly are supposed to work only in the afterlife, and I didn't see any raise zombie minions spells in there.
  11. For stricktly American Made mecha shows then definately, The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot and Megas XLR. Titan Maximum was also pretty good. I don't really count robots as mecha, as mecha implies having human pilots.

I hear it's quite the good time though. Bummer.
Whedon was also second unit director of this. It's more funny than scary, but yeah some bits did make me jump and push back into my seat.

To give away too much of the plot would take too much out of the film. So I'll say this, its as if Scream and Monster movies had dirty kinky sex and produced a love child. I don't know if its good to see in the theaters as it lacks a lot of the cinemetography that you want to see in the big screen, but it is hilariously entertaining. Plus as one critic said, who can resist a killer unicorn...ok one spoiler. It's also holding at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is well deserved.

Nah, I'm sure someone will welcome the new neighbors with a pie. It would be unneighborly not to do so.
  16. Hmmm...from what I've read about the Tomorrow series this movie is based on, the author never gives the nationality of the invading forces.

Actually, I wasn't trying to make this political. I was mainly reacting to the posts on that video voicing their ourtrage that the trailer doesn't spell outright what nationality the invaders are. Like it would make a difference?

I think any reason given would just distract from the plot, or that they could give any reason that would make us feel as the villains. I mean, if they made the Americans invading because we wanted something from the country like oil, it would make the movie feel slanted toward a political agenda, and we'd miss the point of it.

    ...
Okay, let's put it in this light. If the invaders were say the Chinese, would we still need a reason for the invasion?

If it's going to be about the US invading and seeing that from the other side, then I think the concept would be better served making that point up front, not by trying to make it some kind of big reveal.
Might be just the trailer hiding the fact to reduce controversy until the release of the movie.

In Red Dawn, we never got a reason for the Russian Invasion (it was just assumed), the point of the movie wasn't why they were invading but why the kids were fighting back. "Because we live here!" was the catchphrase for the original Red Dawn trailers...that and "WOLVERINES!"

The troops kind of look like American forces. It would make an interesting point about perspective. In Red Dawn, it was American kids attacking Russian invaders, and we took the kids fighting back as Freedom Fighters. But if you did the same movie, but changed the invaders to be American Troops, would we look at these kids as terrorists instead? I mean, in our perspecitve, if the US were invading a foreign country there must be good reason for it...?
  21. It would be interesting if the invaders end up being the US.

As the Chinese say, Tomorrow brings tommorow. They can always get into that in the sequal, and leaves the viewers (who haven't read the books) wondering how she is going to deal with this situation...and possibily Team Peeta and Team Gale memoriabilia.

    See, now you're understanding!

The Mayans tracked the stars and figured out when important astronical events will occur and they built their calendar around those events kind of how we track astronical events now on our calendars (the Earth revolving around the Sun and the cycles of the Moon), and they built legends around them. Though their way is arguably much more accurate and detailed.
