  1. I consider Tier 1 heroes are those that are easily recognizable by the general public, like Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Hulk, Captain America, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash Gordon, and recently Iron Man.

Tier 2 heroes are those that have had their own books, and are featured regularly in Tier 1 books, however the general public don't know much about, but are well known by comic readers and those who have a passing interest in comics. Iron Man used to be Tier 2 pre RDJ, but now I'd go with:

Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Daredevil, Thor, Captain Marvel (Shazam), Green Arrow, Spawn, Green Lantern, The Phantom, She-Hulk, Power-Man, most of the X-Men, and Martian Manhunter.

And there are those that are somewhere between Tier 1 and 2, in that they are generally recognized, but have dropped somewhat in favor by the public or are known as associates of tier 1 heroes, like the Fantastic Four, Supergirl, Robin, and probably the Punisher (though I think of him as still Tier 2).

Tier 3 have had short runs with their own books, but are mainly known by those who read and generally appear regularly in Tier 2 books and occasionally Tier 1 books. Heroes like Black Widow, Ant-Man, Spider-Woman, Iron Fist, Moon Knight, The Master of Kung-Fu, Savage Dragon, Howard the Duck, and any character created by known artists like Leifeld.

Then there are Tier 4 are only known by those who follow Tier 3 books, but sometimes appears in Tier 2 books, and those who browse shops comic stores, and it goes so on.

They don't own CoX anymore, so why are they allowed to mention it? Sure, they started it...but it's the Paragon studios team who have made it what it is today.
The same reason why the Cryptic Logo still appears on the front of the CoH site, they still own the engine and NCSoft is licencing it from them.

Can't be worse then Neverwinter Nights 2. At least Cryptic is good for support and several expansions afterwards, instead of forcing the fans to take over the project to fix bugs and continue development.
  6. Well, they knew the CDC got involved and the military was called. It's about as much information that most people would get during an outbreak. As for the cause. Sure, I'm sure the news and people would speculate. But any investigation by the CDC wouldn't be made public until after the desease was contained, which didn't look like it ever was. Ever watch REC?

Yeah, Mysterion outed himself back in season 13. His unmasking was kinda funny in that they didn't show his hair so there was no way for the audience to actually distinguish him from any other kid in the series.

I'm still kind of surprised he was capable of bringing the two back. Even as King of Hell, it seems odd he could affect things in Lucifer's cage, OR drag someone out of Heaven. Both seem not quite part of his domain...
Isn't Mary in hell dragged there by Azazel? And the one in Heaven was just a creation of Zacharia

I thought Echidna too as well as Grendel's mother, Angrboða, and Lillith, but I was leaning toward Echidna or Grendel's mother more, and as you said Lillith is already dead. The real question is, will Dean pull a Beowulf end up doing her?

Oh, who else thinks the grandfather made a deal with Crowley to bring back Sam and Dean's own mother?

It's "staying true" in a sense, that several scenes and plotlines in the first 2 comics were in it, but stretched out much much more, and some changed outright, in some cases for the better. For instance the shootout was more in depth in the show than the comic with more characters, there was only Rick and Shane in the comic with 2 gun men, and there was no "DON'T OPEN. DEAD INSIDE" sign painted on the door in the comic, and Rick did open it to see the dead inside (I liked how the show did it better), the bicycle zombie also had more parts...body parts I mean. I could go on...

EDIT: If you want to do a comparison and you have Comcast Cable, ONDEMAND has the first comic in full motion format.

They showed an intersect under the seat of Elli's new car. So wondering if Chuck get's it back that way, or Elli becomes the new intersect.
  13. The night before, I attended probably the best party in the North Bay of California, the Exotic Zone Ball at the Cal Expo in Sacramento. There were some pretty amazing costumes there, as seen in this video I took. There were some more sexy costumes which I can't post, plus 4 states (in different rooms) with 1 live performance, and 3 djs with different types of music. They even had a stage in the smoking area which I never seen before at any event. Needless to say that stage was very popular. Plus they had many different activities there, like a bungee jump, a fun house (like in Greese), a giant twister board, a mechanical bull, and other things which I can't post.

The next day I spent watching horror movies, episodes of Ghost Hunters as well as the pilot for Walking Dead, while handing out candy. All in all a super awesome weekend! It's no wonder why Halloween is my favorite of all holidays.
  14. I have to say the production value and cinetography was the best I've ever seen in a TV Pilot. I hope they can keep it up in the series prior. I loved the comic series, and so far its sticking fairly close to it with few changes. After such awesomeness, I look forward to shows to come.

    Let me in

Warning, consider all of below SPOILERS!

As promised, I watched Let the Right One In last night (Halloween night), and I loved both of them. Despite their differences, overall, it was pretty much the same film, and there were parts of Lina Leandersson's performance which made it clear why they casted Chloe Moretz for the role.

However, talking about parts where they were the same doesn't say much about what I thought of the film, so in that I felt LTROI was slower then LMI. The scenes with Håkan killing weren't as thrilling as the father's car shtick, especially how he got caught. Also a lot of the camera work throughout the movie was a bit better done in LMI. Like the barfing scene, the bridge attack, the pool attack, etc.

Oskar was a lot closer to his parents than Owen was. There were times you could see him having fun with his mother and father, so you knew why it was hard for him to leave them. However, it made him less symphathetic when he did leave. Also the scenes with the father felt only necessary to show why Oskar would be open to dating a boy.

I found Eli a bit less of a monster than Abby, especially seeing her cry over a kill, and she was also far less subtle about her manipulation of Oskar and Håkan than Abby was with Owen and the Father.

I liked getting to know the neighbors in LTROI, however it didn't really add anything more in this film that wasn't already handled by the cop in LMI, as he took on himself most of their thoughts lines and roles. The scene with the CGI cats was just way out there.

I thought the dynamic between the Father and Abby in LMI was handled better than it did in LTROI. They never gave a reason why Håkan was messing up and being far less careful during the time of the movie, and LMI pushed a little more their relationship with the apologetic note, the head touch, the picture of them together. Also Håkan was far more mature than the Father, and since they did without the picture or explanation of why they were together in the first place, it left you wondering or going with the explanation from the book if you've read it or others told you about it.

Abby's subtlety made Abby and Owens relationship was also more romantic than Eli and Oskar. In that, Oskar and Eli felt more real as a couple of kids getting together as that's what you would see in real life as an adult observer, while in Abby and Owens case was more like what they would see. Oskar also felt less innocent more thugish than Owen, in that he kept clippings of serial killers and he showed no emotion when hitting the other boy with the stick. Not that I thought these differences made either film any better or worse from each other, but it did make the ending very much different. In LTROI, the end felt like Oskar found a like soul, while Eli found herself a new friend and future Håkan. In LMI, Owen found someone that needed him as much as he needed her, and vice versa, sad as that existence will be as that same correlation with Owen and the Father was also clear.

    Press release:

Master of Horror set to bring you the girl of your dreams. John Carpenter is onboard to direct Darkchylde, based on the comic by Randy Queen about a good hearted southern teen cursed to become the creatures from her many recurring nightmares. Every time Ariel Chylde transforms, she sheds her skin and a new nightmare emerges from her Id to act out her deepest, darkest impulses.

John Carpenter and Sandy King’s Storm King Productions have allied with Randy and Sarah Queen’s Darkchylde Ent. to produce the film, following the release of test footage created by Richard Taylor’s Academy Award Winning Weta Workshop. (The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, King Kong, The Hobbit)

John Carpenter says, "Randy Queen’s hijacked angel, Ariel Chylde, is the best young female character since Laurie Strode in Halloween. Bringing Ariel and her dark mysteries to life should be quite an adventure for us all."

Adds Queen, "I’m beyond thrilled that John Carpenter, one of our most important, and legendary genre directors, and the man responsible for such landmark films as THE THING, and HALLOWEEN has come onboard with Weta Workshop to help bring the nightmarish tale of Ariel Chylde to the silver screen. As a horror fan, the thought of Carpenter and Weta together, beautiful dreamscapes, and multiple transformations, makes me incredibly excited. There is a reason nearly his entire catalogue has, or is being remade, and it’s because Carpenter is a genius."

Offering a stark contrast to super hero comics, Darkchylde was a breakout sensation of the late 90’s and early 2000’s, garnering immediate acclaim, and an unusually large female fanbase. The property went on to outsell Spider-Man, Superman, and Batman in both domestic and foreign audiences, and has been realized in toys, trading cards, apparel, lunch boxes, mini busts, and more recently a hit crossover with Top Cow, and a statue from PopCultureShockToys. Fans can now read the Ariel Chylde saga online via Wowio and Darkchylde.com and a trade paperback collecting the "Legacy" and "Redemption" series of books ships in January from Image Comics.

John Carpenter is an acclaimed director, screenwriter, producer, and composer, who won an academy award for his short film while still just a student at USC. His storied career includes such seminal films as Halloween, The Thing, Escape from New York, Starman, Christine, In the Mouth of Madness, Assault on Precinct 13, They Live, and The Fog. His most recent outing, The Ward, starring Amber Heard as an institutionalized woman tormented by a sinister spirit, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Mark Millar was born the same year as me, so childhood run would mean the 80's. In 1985, Batman had a run in Loisianna with Killer Croc as the villain, so the logic is sound. The other villain that it could be is Black Mask, who also had a Batman run in the 80's.

There are also moving some production to New Orleans which has prompted some to indicate Killer Croc.
Mark Millar also has stated a few things on twitter about Batman 3:

"Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale."

Assuming he's talking about the Loisianna localle, it hints towards Killer Croc.

Also he says that the villain is one from his childhood in this tweet:
"One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected."

  23. 14% for Matt Bomer..aka Bryce Larkin of Chuck? I think he'd actually make a really good choice as Superman, much better than many of the others. He looks good as Clark and Supes, and he's already played Supes in Japanese Commercials plus he was the top choice for Superman Returns until Singer signed as the director and brought Routh in.

Like all the times Lois gets into trouble in the comics, cartoons, and movies cause she's Lois? Remember who you're talking about, even during the end of days you'll probably see Lois rushing headlong into the mailstrom and plaugues to try to get an interview with Satan...and then tell him off when she gets to him.
