yay! I'm snowed in this weekend! Faathim the Kind Saturday at 1pm Eastern. See you there
-
I'll be at work
sorry, ladies.
-
I'll be working overtime this weekend, so this Shaturday's Sara Moore event will be led by @Krevan
Sara Moore starts in the Cascades, so look for him there or just send him a tell for an invite. Krevan usually runs shock Block for these events, but he just respec'd Tanker Ray so he might be on either toon. Our Sara Moore runs are usually done in under 2hrs and have become pretty popular amongst our coalitions and global friends, so be on time! If enough folks show up, we will run multiple teams. Good Luck! -
Liberty is primarily an East coast server, with a few canadians and aussies thrown in for good measure. We're definately not dead, but it is Holiday season and folks are spending time gearing up for that, I'd imagine. I'll be happy to answer any questions. just send me a tell in game @Infernai

Quote:i can be nice too
If Kat would come to Liberty I might even try PvP myself....
and what would it take to get you to be interested in PvP (apart from an appearance by kat)? -
yeah, it was 4AM my time when I posted it, so I'm lucky I was even coherent enough to get that far
-
Quote:I never said don't take SS, I merely explained why I personally don't have it.
No offense, but telling a blaster not to take SS on a build because you happen to have a pocket Kin at all times is really bad advice -
i modified the build to have the rectified reticle, so fixed that. as for boost range, by the time i've hit all my buffs the target is out of range and i used it less and less as i played it more, so i dropped it. as for fireball, i do a lot of team pvp and a common tactic for my foes is to attack my teammate while a stalker AS's him so the targeted AoE interrupts that. As for no SS, my teammate is usually a kin so i get SB often. You say the build isnt very good, but it works for me. The build might not be good for everyone else, but I just posted it to give the original poster and idea about the KB protection, not have it critique by you.
-
Does anyone know if there is a way to bind a key to target the next player enemy? I find myself in zone PvP getting frustrated because my target keeps switching to the next NPC instead of an actual enemy player. You input is greatly appreciated.

hell yeah that would be awesome! get 25 heroes and 25 villains, each on opposite sides of the map waiting for dimensional reversion countdown... as the timer reaches 10 seconds, palms are sweating... 5 seconds, masks being adjusted, utility belts being checked and double checked... 3 seconds, teeth are grinding... 2 seconds, take the last drag off a cigarette and stomp it out... 1 second, deep breath... zero... DIMENSIONAL REVERSION AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!!! We got the turret, they got the turret, we got the turret, they killed the tank, we killed the brute, ah damn INCOMING AVs!
A full-fledged battle for the fate of the future! Anybody else giggling maniacly?
alright Feugan, it's officially on my list of things to do. -

A couple of things jumped out at me at a glance, but I do not claim to know everything about the best build for PvP, so you'll want a second opinion:
- Your HP is 2003 (more if you have the usual accolades active), but as a blaster it is capped at 1606. You will want to drop some of the set bonuses you have for "increase HP" and focus on getting more global accuracy
- I'd consider putting Obliteration set in the nuke at lvl 32 instead of Eradication
- your KB protection is 9pts, which means you'll be flopping around like a fish out of water. With Diminishing Returns, try to slot for 41pts of KB protection (using the Karma, Blessing of the Zephyr, and Steadfast Protection procs)
- for Hoarfrost, take out 2 of the Numina's and replace with 2 Miracles. For hibernate, also replace Numina with Miracle. You might want that extra recovery vs the regen since you have a self heal. Even if you get low on health, you'll need the endurance to activate Hibernate
- See if you can squeeze in Rectified Reticle: +perception anywhere for those invisible buggers. You already have Tactics, but it may or may not be enough
It's after 3AM right now so that's all I can do for you at the moment. Best of luck -
As the new PvPEC rep for this server, I'm going to be putting together some events within the coming weeks. But I'd like to get some input first. send me a PM through the CoH forums or just post a reply in this thread with a list of the kinds of things you'd like to see. Arena or Zone? What types of matches? Possible Super Teams? etc.
I'll be posting event announcements on the CoH Liberty server threads instead of the main PvP and event threads so as to reach those who are interested but wary of the "hardcore PvP." I plan to start soft and work our way up. There will, of course, be prizes for certain events which may or may not include costume codes (it's my second day on the job so I still have to work out some of that stuff).
I define the "hardcore PvP" as the kind that usually turns beginners away before they really get a chance, such as: trash talking, getting pwnd by the uber-builds, being farmed by stalkers, etc (basically, all the stuff that made me not want to PvP either).
That being said, one of the first things I'd like to start is a weekly "PvP 101" class to help those new to PvP get a feel for it and see if they like it or not. Arena with Training Wheels, if you will. I'm just hoping to have a way to gently introduce people to it instead of it being a "sink or swim" style of learning. I'll post more on that later when I have it all figured out.
I look forward to working to bridge the gap between PvP and PvE and I really cant wait to breathe new life into PvP on this server.
Thank you,
Infernal -
Friendly Reminder: Justin Augustine is this Saturday at 1PM Eastern. Come on out and pick up an easy 42 merits. This is one of the quicker Shard TFs, so we might turn around and do a Sara Moore afterwards
-
then let's change that. I'll admit I dont personally know a lot about PvP right now, but I am learning. And I'm also willing to take the time to breath new life into it on this server. I've done just about all there is to do in PvE and am starting to get bored with it. But the little PvP I have done certainly gets the heart rate up. So if there is anyone that wants to learn with me, I'd like to start sort of a "PvP 101" class in pocket d for new folks to learn the basics and get familiar with how the system works, understand slotting and compare builds, teach strategies, etc. I'd also like to start a "Warburg Wednesday" where, after we have some more people that are familiar with it and interested in it, we could hit up the different zones and just have huge knockdown-dragout brawls.
-
hence the post requesting fresh blood to rejuvinate the spirit of it all
-
I remember the event last year. I look forward to participating again
-
no worries, we got through it. I'm just glad you were able to attend and have fun
-
Dr Q finished in 4:51:31
we had a few hang ups, such as spending 45 minutes hunting for a crey boss. and we lost a teammember after about 2 hours. but other than that, it was fun. Thanks to those that joined us on ventrilo! We had some good laughs
Crimson Training Bot - shield/axe tank
Pyro Technique - fire/kin controller
Slamnation - fire/shield scrapper
Flaming Rissa - fire/fire scrapper
Burly Dark Fist - dark/invuln scrapper
Mr. Bullet - invuln/super strength tank
Officer Spanks - rad/ice defender -
friendly reminder: Dr Q TF is tomorrow at 1PM Eastern. Our last run was in 3 1/2 hours, so I look forward to trying to beat that time! This TF exemplars down to lvl 44, so any lvl 50s WILL have all of their powers, just not all of the lvl 50 set bonuses. Many of the first missions are "rescue hostages from Rularuu" which is my least favorite mission of the Sara Moore. Our usual strategy is to pop a lot of purples and oranges and just plow through the mobs and only defeating the ones that have hostages. We call it "tank stealthing" so come prepared.
