how could I say no to you fine people? I'll be there!
Treeeeeee - lvl 50 plant/kin -
There's also a Shadow Shard task force every saturday at 1pm EST. You can also join the Crimson Order global channel because we run TFs about everynight and usually broadcast there (as well as SHF channel when I start the team)

actually, i'm not back in the game yet
I said "i got a new graphics card on the way..." meaning i've ordered the parts and should have everything delivered by tuesday. Once everything is hooked up, I ought to be back in game by Wednesday or Thursday, hopefully sooner. -
well, I did it...
got a new graphics card on the way, but it's too big for my current tower so I had to get a new case. And because the card is huge, I had to upgrade my power supply as well. If I keep going at this rate, I WILL eventually have a bioneural interface linked to the CoH mainframe with cybernetic implants to regulate my system's functions so I can spend more time doing important things, like gaming instead of eating and pooping.
GTX 275
I have the powah!
it might actually transform...with a few mods -
If someone is available to lead this Shaturday's TF, please PM me. Since the Sara Moore was a bust 2 weeks in a row, I think we should move on to Faathim. Remember folks, this is worth 73 merits!
I have ordered a new graphics card (nVidia GTX 275) and a new case and a new PSU. All should arrive middle of next week so I ought to be back in game before end of next week in time to lead a Dr Quarterfield. -
friendly reminder that while this is a good event to participate in, it does not take place on Liberty server. This is a Freedom event that was posted on Liberty's threads to reach a larger audience due to the scope of the project

The PvPEC is pleased to announce the beginning of a fun and exciting PvP league that will be taking place on the Freedom Server.
The League is designed with the player in mind. By creating a system where each team is composed of two squads, one drafted squad and one selected squad, we have joined the competitive nature of the PvP Ladder with the easy going format of the PvP League into one style of play that everyone can enjoy.
- Division 8 teams, which are selected by captains before the draft, will run in the traditional 8v8 format only against other Division 8 teams. This provides a medium for those wishing to participate in the fast and highly competitive nature of arena 8v8 matches.
- Division 6 teams, which are composed of drafted players, will play in 6v6 format and only play other Division 6 teams. With this system, Division 6 will fight other squads in a no stress scenario that welcomes any and all players, no matter their powersets or PvP experience.
- Both squads compose a single team so everyone is contributing no matter what division they belong to. Rounds will be scored for wins/ties/losses and the team with the highest cumulative score at the end of the season will be deemed the winner!
Paragon Studios has been most gracious in offering the following prizes to the winning team!- City of Heroes/City of Villains T-Shirt
- In-Game Gold Title
- Choice of Archetype Pin
- Blinking "Awesome" Button
The winning team members will get either a Hero or Villain t-shirt depending on which faction they were playing.
The winning team members will get an AT pin that represents the AT they were playing. Controller will get a Controller pin, Brute will get a Brute pin etc.
Don't let those free server transfers go to waste, transfer a character over to Freedom and come join in the fun! Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate!

and I would also like to apologize to everyone for dropping the ball in January. My PC died on January 9th, and while I thought I had all the kinks worked out by the 20th, I am still having some on-going issues so I sent a message to perilX requesting some assistance in making sure the server wasn't left out of this months event. I appreciate your understanding and wish all the contestants good luck and have fun

it's a late post, but just in case anyone checks this thread on saturday morning:
Since the Sara Moore was a no-go last week and since I have my PC running now (albeit with shameful graphics), I will be in the Cascades at 1pm.
*update - i was able to login for a few minutes, but was unable to get a large enough team together for this weekends event. I logged off and was going to login a different toon but am still having some system problems. my graphics are now all pixelated so I have no idea what's going on.I've done all the troubleshooting I can so it's definately time to get a new card. I should have one by this next weekend.

according to paragonwiki, there are a few choices for video cards that allow ulta-mode but it also says that the information is based on internal testing and is subject to change. and if i spend the $300-$400 on the cards listed, i'll likely need to upgrade my PSU. And for anyone that has read the book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" then I think you can see where this whole project could snowball...
the end result being circuits and wires trailing from my body to the CoH mainframe. I love this game, but I'm just not ready for that kind of a commitment.
so for now, I'll likely get a nvidia 8800gt and then upgrade when GR actually comes out with solid specs for Ultra-Mode. -
wo0t! back in action, baby! sadly, i need a new graphics card. my 8500gt died on me. i can install the hardware, boot up the system and it works. but as soon as i install the drivers (either from the disc, from a windows update, or from nvidia.com itself) the system reboots and then i get a blank screen.
i was thinking about an nVidia 9800gt, but i need to do a little more comparison shopping. any suggestions? minimal graphics sucks and gives me a headache when i try to play (probably because I've been spoiled by running full res and full quality for the past 8-9 months or so)

Yeah Burnout was a great game. The Takedowns were sweet, especially where u could slow things down and aim for the fuel trucks for maximum damage!

My recovery discs should be here by the 20th. I've been busy playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on the XBOX360, which is an awesome game. However, once I beat it on Legendary difficulty, the damn thing died.
Thankfully I still have my original XBOX from like 10 yrs ago and it still works! I guess it's true that they just don't make them like they used to. One of my favorite games of all time is still Justice League Heroes, an outstanding co-op game. So since my entertainment options keep dwindling with each passing day and gods forbid I *gasp* leave the house, I'm asking you to post your favorite game of all time (except CoH) because I really have nothing better to do than read these forums. Thanks!

maybe more folks will show up without me there
-
That would be great, Tax E. Thanks. This Shaturday is scheduled to be Sara Moore in the Cascades at 1pm EST.
-
my computer crashed in the middle of the Justin Augustine TF so I don't know the teambuild/time completed. Unless I can get my system running by the end of this week or if I am able to coordinate a replacement team leader, there might not be a SSShaturday this weekend.
-
My computer died today and I don't know how long it will take to fix. It crashed while on a Tf, much apologies to my teammates. The error "BOOTMGR is missing" looks like it will require a system recovery to resolve and the discs will take some time to get here since I'm also getting errors when trying to use the recovery partition.
I wish there was a CoH app for my iPod Touch (which is how I'm able to access the forums for now).I'll keep in touch as best I can
-
just a heads up, Justin Augustine Saturday at 1pm EST

Quote:yup. Dr Q
Will there be a Shadow Shard run this Saturday (January 2, 2010)? -
this Shaturday was scheduled to be Dr Q, but I'll be working overtime in the office from 9am - 2pm. Since it will be the day after Christmas, we're going to reschedule for Jan 2nd 2010. I think that running Dr Q will be a great way to kick off the first Shaturday of the new year. See you then!

i'll start one on Tuesday 12/22/09 at 8pm Eastern if you guys really want. if nobody shows, then i'll just solo it
