Thunderbug - She has been doing her best to protect the citizens more than fight the Rikti. she plays her part in helping escort refugees to safe houses and carrying the wounded to hospital.

Day Two - Continued...
They had gone in as a team, but the chaos turned it into a free-for-all. The panicked heroes were no longer unified and split off in their own directions attacking any Rikti they could find upon the downed starships surface. Inago was growing tired of the explosions and gunfire... just a moments quiet would put him back into his stride. No chance of that in the middle of a battlefield though.
Inago charged through a group of Rikti who tried to cleave him in two with their swords, but to no avail. His agility and skill kept him one step ahead at every swing. He was slowly making his way through them as their attention was suddenly grabbed by a bulldozer of a man plowing into them at incredible speed. Armour cracked and shattered under the sheer power of the hero's giant fists.
Using this as a distraction, Inny made it to the grate which he then bust open with a series of high powered kicks. As soon as it was open he grabbed the satchel off his back and flung it down the vent. Now if everyone else had managed to do their jobs and plant the rest of the bombs the destruction of the ship would be imminent.
A voice crackled over the comm links "I think we're in trouble... Get to the central point, NOW! You should see the size of this thing!"
The floor shook and buckled under Inago's feet forcing him to brace himself against the hull. Something big was coming and that couldn't be good news at all...
--------------------
5... 6... 7... They just kept dropping. 8... 9... One by one the Rikti fell. The hangover was still there but there's nothing like a work out to distract yourself from the pain. Rachis threw spines with deadly accuracy, making sure that every shot counted and every strike hit its mark.
From this display it was hard to tell that he was man as before. He liked people to think he was weak and lazy. It made them underestimate them. Gave him an edge in a fight. Just moments ago the Rikti execution squad had found him and presumed him to be wounded. They were there for easy kills, but that's not what they were getting.
--------------------
Thunderbug slouched on the bench and took a few deep breaths. She'd been fighting for hours and desperately needed a rest. In this underground shelter the war seemed so far away. The cold, damp walls were strangely comforting.
The room was packed with civilians and heroes a like. Nearby, a rough looking man sat in a black suit of high tech armour, tinkering with his helmet. He puffed on a cigar as he worked causing Althia to cough a little as the smoke drifted past her. She thought about asking him to put it out but he was a little too intimidating.
The mask on her face was getting a little claustrophobic, but this wasn't the place to remove it. There were far too many witnesses and Althia really wanted to stay anonymous. As far as everyone else was concerned, her and Thunderbug were two completely different people and that's how she wanted it to stay. -
Day Two
A large blast threw Inago backwards into some burnt out ruins. His vision blurred and faded to black. A shooting pain traveled down his arm and his legs felt numb. He shook his head and tried to focus again, his vision clearing once more. He was in bad shape, but others had it worse. The ghostly cries of downed soldiers echoed through the landscape around him.
Gathering himself, he finally managed to scramble back to his feet to take a look around. The dirty clouds would have obstructed the view of any normal person, but thankfully for him his heightened senses allowed him to penetrate through the dust. A large squad of about fifteen Rikti soldiers were closing in, guns at the ready.
Inago smirked "No pushing now! There's plenty of me to go around."
The closest Rikti took a shot which the young hero managed to sidestep with little effort. "Anyone would think you guys were actually trying to kill me."
The alien fired again and Inago ducked just in time, the bolt almost grazing his head. "That's it... you're number one on my list of butts to kick!"
--------------------
"Hey... umm... are you alive?"
Rachis didn't answer, as he was quite happy lying where he was. Untill the woman started prodding him anyway.
"Hello...? This isn't the safest place to sleep." Rachis finally managed to prize his eyes open to see a white haired girl in a full blue mask with golden eye coverings crouched over his body. Her slim body was clad in a black and light blue costume, some sort of symbol on her chest that he couldn't quite make out and black combat boots completing the look.
She tilted her head to one side "You look in bad shape."
Rachis sat up and looked down at his hands "That ain't mah blood." He motioned to the motionless corpses of over a dozen Rikti scattered around the area before slumping back to the ground again.
The girl took a moment to look around at the dead bodies before sniffing the air "Are you drunk? You reek of alcohol!"
"Hungover... Somethin' wrong with that gal?" He rubbed his hands through his spikey hair before clasping his forehead. "Who the hell are ya?"
"I'm Thunderbug! It's good to meet you, Mr...?"
"Rachis... Be a doll an' [censored] off so ah can get some shut eye." He closed his eyes once more and yawned loudly.
Thunderbug could do nothing but stand there in disbelief. She couldn't believe how rude the guy was. There was no point staying where she obviously wasn't wanted.
--------------------
"Power levels at 10% and falling."
[censored]...
"Weapons systems at 19%."
Double [censored]...
"Alien vessels detected. ETA 7 minutes."
[censored], [censored], [censored]! Steel Guards armour wasn't doing so well. He'd recovered from his previous fall and had spent the night fighting his way through the streets, trying to find a safe place where he could make repairs. Now to top it all off there was a squadron of enemy bombers on approach. The day couldn't possibly get any worse... -
((These stories are based at the start of the Rikti invasion when I10 is out later today))
Inago watched calmly as the first portals opened at the Crash Site. He crouched on the edge of a building, just observing as the Rikti started to pour through. As the sounds of the start of another war rang out he tensed his fists and prepared himself for battle.
"It's just as we saw... They we're coming back. I hope I warned enough people of the coming storm."
The voice of a young girl spoke from behind him "Don't worry, little brother."
"Four wars, Frolic-ane... This will be my fifth. I don't care anymore... I just want it all to be over. There arn't even enough of us here to put up a good enough fight."
Frolic giggled and stepped forward out of the shadows to be by her brothers side "Cheer up! this is where the fun begins!"
Inago nodded and slowly rose to his feet "Well... I guess there's only one thing to say... Send in the clowns!"
The shadows from behind the two spread out towards the battle field, roaring fiercely. They were shortly followed by a gang of about ten brightly dressed warriors, carrying banners and drums.
With a sigh the young hero leaped after them, yelling at the top of his lungs "Tanoshimou ne!" The Cirque de la Lune were back in action.
------------------------------
"Nothin' like sittin' on a throne." Rachis had waited a long while to find the time to visit a public toilet to lighten his load. "Ah could get used ta this. King Rachis." He began to etch his name on the door, next to the graffiti of more than a dozen vandals.
His peaceful time was interrupted by an earth shaking explosion from outside. "Holy [censored]! What the [censored] was that?" He paused for a moment and sniffed the air before looking down at what he'd done. "Heh... best place fo' that ta happen."
After quickly finishing what he'd sat down to do he reached over for some toilet paper... "Aw [censored]!" Unfortunately for him there was none.
------------------------------
Steel Guard zig-zagged through the sky of Brickstown, he'd detected multiple high energy readings coming from the other side of Crey's Folly. What he'd failed to detect was the alien weapon energy signature pointing in his direction.
By the time he did notice it, it was too late. He'd already been hit in the chest by a high powered beam. His suit's warning systems kicked in "Structural Integrity at 45%. Power to flight systems failing."
As his jet boots cut out and he started to plummet to the ground he cursed to himself. This was the start of a long day.
-----------------------------
Althia sat under a tree in the park reading her book. It was times like these that she felt truly at peace. No large crowds of people and no reason to feel uncomfortable. She didn't care that she didn't have many friends or any close friends at all. She liked her alone time. Her white hair blew gently in the breeze, occasionally obstructing her view of the text.
The first warning of invasion she received was the raid sirens started to echo across the zone which always made her tense up. The calming sound of the singing birds was drowned out by the horrific noise telling her there was major trouble.
Althia grabbed her satchel from next to her and opened it quickly, taking out her heroing costume and replacing it with the novel she had been reading. She needed to find somewhere to change. Althia was useless in this kind of situation, but that's where Thunderbug came in. -
(If anyone tunes in to the radio around 7:40pm tonight (23/07/07) they might catch the following bit of news.)
*sounds of sirens in the background and the cheers of a gathered crowd*
Reporter - "...This is Dani Lee reporting from Steel Canyon where we have just witnessed the rescue of workers from a construction site turned deathtrap as a large gang of Freakshow ran rampant through downtown, destroying anything in their path.
Their rescuer was non other than the Awesome Inago who bounded up girders and cranes to carry the stranded men to safety. He managed to save all seven of them before the unfinished structure collapsed into a spectacular pile of twisted metal and rubble.
Several other heroes arrived on the scene to chase down and dispatch the Freaks. This group included the new Steel Guard, Starfall and several other as of yet unknowns. They were shortly joined by Inago who had left the builders with paramedics.
At this current time the PPD are wrapping things up... oh wait! Here's Inago now! Inago! A moment of your time please!"
Inago - "Nani?"
Reporter - "Dani Lee, reporter for Canyon Radio. Could I give you a quick interview?"
Inago - "Oh... Sure. Konbanwa Lee-san."
Reporter - "Thanks so much! So... that was an amazing heroic display there, but what we are dying to know is where have you been for the last few months?"
Inago - "Away... Can't really give more as it could affect others. Sorry..."
Reporter - "I see... then how does it feel to be back?"
Inago - "Great! Paragon is my home and I love being here."
Reporter - "What do you have to say about these rumors that you have been eliminating crime by killing the criminals?"
Inago - "Bakana... it's lies."
Reporter - "So you deny any involvement with the deaths of several mob bosses and troupes of Carnies?"
Inago - "Hai."
Reporter - "Okay... We know that the Cirque de la Lune are bitter enemies of the Carnival of Shadows, would any of your 'family' have had anything to do with these murders?"
Inago - *snaps at the reporter* "Kono-yaro!"
Reporter "I won't push any more, all I was after was the truth."
Inago - "I'm outta here."
Reporter - "Wait... don't go! Just one more question please?"
Inago - *growls* "Shinjimae!"
*The crowd cheers loudly once more before dying down*
Reporter - "Well there he goes. Was he trying to hide something or was he telling the truth? I guess only time will tell. Dani Lee signing out." -
It's official! Inago is back in Paragon City! There have been many reports and sightings of this young hero over the past couple of days. Where has he been? No-one seems to know for sure. Many had presumed him either dead or retired, however there have been rumors of him fighting battles through other dimensions. His return has also heralded the arrival of various other members of the controversial Cirque de la Lune and an increase in their activities. Throughout their history the Cirque have only really appeared in the cities most desperate hours. Is this a sign that bad times are ahead?
Very little is known about Inago's history. He was born and raised in Japan, where he helped to fight in the Rikti war as a child. He arrived in Paragon on October 20th, 2005 and was a well known sight until his disappearance nearly 7 months ago. A veteran of at least 2 wars, he has defended the city time and time again. A few of his most recognizable feats include successfully leading a force against Requiem forces in Perez Park during the Requiem war, the arrest of several of powerful crime lords, the defeat of a covert Rikti commander, and the closing of several dimensional rifts.
The name Inago comes from his insectoid image and derives from the Japanese word for grasshopper. He is an excellent martial artist who utilizes a unique style of the same name. Even though his strength is said to be magic based, there has never been any actual confirmation of this from him.
Although far from being one of the most powerful heroes of our time, Inago has achieved so much and gained the respect of many. His tenacity and dedication more than make up for his lack of power. So far we have been unable to get an interview, however we managed to approach Coile of the Silent Tempest and ask him what he thought of Inago's return. He said "He always did good work. The city's safer for him returning.".
Unfortunately there have been some vicious rumors spreading that claim the young hero to be involved in a plot to purge the city of evil through any means possible. He could have already been involved in the deaths of countless criminals. Whilst some welcome this kind of vigilantism it is still against the law and a breach of human rights. There is actually no conclusive proof that Inago has had anything to do with this and such accusations could damage his career.
What is your opinion of the Awesome Inago? A brave hero or a devious vigilante? -
... Inago is back in the city.
Man 1: "You here that the insect boy is back in the city?"
Man 2: "Which one? The flyboy?"
Man 1: "No... the Japanese one. Grasshopper... The little guy!"
Man 2: "Inago? Really? Wait... where'd he go anyway?"
Man 1: "No idea... he just vanished. I always thought he died or quit or something. Word is he's been hunting down Rikti and the Carnies aren't too happy either. He's been rounding them up like cattle." -
Explosions Shake Brickstown Foundations (Newspaper Excerpt)
A series of fires and explosions across Brickstown woke citizens from their slumber in the early hours of Friday night. A terrorist or Rikti attack was originally feared. However, after closer inspection by forensics it appeared that all the buildings targeted were the bases and strongholds of various know criminal organizations.
The largest blast was located in a large warehouse where an illegal rave was taking place. The hosts of the rave were non other than the Carnival of Shadows.
Survivors were discovered amongst the rubble and and broken masks . Witnesses heard one man screaming out in terror. "The guy wouldn't stop yelling. Something about 'him' being back and that he was sorry for what he had done."
The identity of the attacker is yet to be found, however an independent photographer managed to take a photo of a lone figure on a rooftop just minutes after the warehouse lit up in flames. The poor lighting make it impossible to see who it was.
The PPD are appealing for all witnesses to come forward in the hope that they will find a significant lead. -

It seems that the creation of this thread is still recieving negative responses. I would appreciate it if it wasn't used as an excuse to throw abuse and accusations and me or my friends. This thread isn't an attempt to break the union rp community apart, it is an attempt to spawn some new enthusiasm towards roleplay in the game.
A few of us on this thread have posted on the GG thread when our characters have actually attended there. Anyone on that thread is welcome to post here if they want as well. This is by no means an attempt to discriminate against any roleplayers. I myself am not big on posting recaps anymore. I lost the motivation to do that a while ago and am currently trying to rekindle my interest in the game.
I personally think this is a polite, honest and resonable post. Thank you for reading it if you have and I hope to see you in game.
P.S. This is due to other information recieved and nothing actually specific to posts on this forum. I just decided to make this announcement to hopefully clear the air a little.
