Why not make the Icon a door inside the Giza? The ultra-rich that can contract those services will be bored while recovering from surgery after all.

While there isn't any real problem with the suggestion itself, there are several with the execution that you may not be aware of. The 1st being that the dev that did the coding for bases, which are linked at the hip with SGs, did not document his work and no longer works for the company. Any attempts to alter bases are fraught with peril, and SGs are included by extension.

Again I see no real issues with your suggestion as posted, but the hurdles are VERY big.

For me figuring out the slots I would have was the biggest question. I had assumed that the 2 free slots that free players get upon making an account would be added to the earned slots that I had accrued over time. They are NOT. That was easy to miss even for me who lurks on these forums daily.

By extension, after I went back to VIP I discovered that the slots I added to unlock toons on my secondary server were now permanently allocated to that server. So that may be something to be aware of as well.

Oh almost forgot! IF you happen to already be on facebook, another option would be joining the COH Pride group. It's by NO means mandatory, just an additional option.

MP got it right. The Pride global channel would be my 1st stop. Heck, I talk there much more than the Victory channels. Now as a 5 year vet it seems like you should have global channel access. So once ingame type /chanjoin "Pride" . It's a public channel so any interested person can join. You may even find that Pride fulfills all of your stated goals for joining a SG.

Hello all. Something struck me recently. Time was we'd get free costume tokens with the launch of many, but not all, issues. In a similar vein we would sometimes also get free respec tokens, although that was more limited to when they changed something significant.

With the launch of Freedom, have we seen the last of these?

Now for me this is merely idle speculation. I'm at tier 9 on the paragon rewards tree, so even when I make a new character, they have more free costume and respecs than I will likely ever use. But I'm curious if anyone else may have noticed or if I perhaps missed a relevant announcement.

What moves me to Virtue? Tragedy.

After an answer like that a story or 2 seems in order.

1st story is very simple. Coalition had broken up and the breakup was nasty. Because I neither wanted to attack anyone or BE attacked, I switched over to Virtue for a week or 2. (Yeah, as forum stories go that was pretty bland.)

2nd story is also simple. Just over a year ago I got chicken pox at age 42. After the first few days I was able to play again, but my focus was erratic and my sleep schedule was all over the place. I couldn't leave my house but I wanted to talk to ANYone other than immediate family, often at 3 am. Enter Virtue, the land of the 24/7 iTrial. This was the release I needed so very desperately. I could play, talk, and still contribute. Oh and I built up enough threads and merits to unlock incarnate slots for all of my other 50s.

While I haven't seen AL:VH, I remember a great battle axe vs sword fight early on in the Shaw brothers classic 36 chambers of Shaolin. (Seriously an eye-opener in ways to fight with an ax if you've never seen it. Although I was young when I 1st saw it, I never would have thought of using the ax handle to strike with as much as the double-bladed head.)

Running Disk defragmenter, assuming windows, may be in order. It could just be his files have to skip around at inopportune times.

Actually I was playing in the costume creator last night pressing the random button. 1 of the memorable combos was with a think tank and battle fury aura. Battle fury was both hands and head. At times the think tank was hard to distinguish.

At the '07 Meet and Greet, Back Alley Brawler said "Masterminds are the game on easy mode." When I told him my 1st 50 was my Merc/Dark. She is still my go-to on any difficult content, including Incarnate. But then, she's also my badger.

To answer the OP, I find it helpful to frame the context of my response with another question. "Have you ever been in an actual fistfight?" (Now I'm casting no aspersions on either answer.)

I have been in several, often with me soloing multiple opponents. It can be quite a rush for the duration your opponents last. I came into PvP with this as my reference. Now I'll admit I learned the ropes in i6 enthusiastically to a point where I could win more often than not. Then I just sort of drifted away from PvP unless friends pulled me into it.

Now this may seem like an obvious thing to say, but to me PvP here FEELS like much more an exercise in number-crunching than bone-crunching. In PvP the sense that I'm just clicking buttons is constantly to the foreground in my mind. In short I can't maintain the suspension of disbelief. I don't think anything the Devs could do would address that short of full immersion virtual reality.

So yeah, I drifted away from PvP long before i13. Been there, bought a shirt that's now sitting in the unseen portions of my closet.

Ok just realized what has happened in the 5+ years with bases and SGs and other systems that may help. Leveling, and thus prestige earning, goes faster now. Several base items had their costs reduced. Recently we also got telepads that take 6 beacons instead of 2. Oh and base rent was radically altered to be almost trivial.

On a related note, inf is easier to earn than ever. Also it can be traded between sides and even emailed to your own global. This is relevant because you can spend inf to get prestige to boost your base.
