  1. Would a screenie help?

Leader was Disapproved Toaster. Last on 16 days ago.
Teh Tick was next to get the star.

If the promotion were based solely on the "joined" date, it should have gone to Phantom Zero or Wylde Apache or any of the other toons that had seniority. BUT they had not logged in within the demotion timeframe.

Consider that if the star had gone to them, the system would just have to turn around and demote them per the 15 day demotion timeframe.

If promotion were based on purely the last one who logged on, it would have promoted one of the folks in this screenie first.

BUT it didn't. It gave the star to Teh Tick first because of seniority.... see first screenie.

Hank Blaine has the star now because he is the next in seniority who has logged on within the 15 day time frame.... see first screenie.

Whatever your experience in the past, this seems to be the way it's working now.

First it looks at seniority, the earliest joined on. Second, it looks at last logged on. Third, compares last log on to demotion time frame. Loop.
  2. It is not completely regardless of activity. The toon has to have logged in within the 15 day timeframe that the demotion is set to. If it were set to 45 days, then it would be the toon with the highest seniority having logged on within 45 days.

And yes , I do think it should be restructured to take into consideration rank and prestige earnings. I am just trying to help clarify how it does work now, so that there is no confusion as to what exactly needs changing.

It has always been the next person to log on who gets promoted.

Sorry, this has just been de-bunked.

I and a few other players have been logging in to my SG every/other day for the past week

Our SG leader had let me know he would be absent for awhile.
So, SG leader had a few toons that had not logged in.

After 15 days, the star went from the Lead Toon to one of his other toons that had not logged in for 14 days.

If the promotion was based on the next person/toon to log in, then it would have passed to either myself (2nd rank) or one of the other players/toons that have been logging in recently.

He had a couple toons in that 14 day timeframe, but the star went to the one that had joined the earliest.

Leader has no other toons that have logged within the 15 day timeframe.

If the rule of seniority holds, the star should pass to one of the other toons/player with the highest seniority (earliest join date) that has logged in within the 15 day timeframe.
  4. Interestingly enough, I am currently in a similar situation with one of my SG's right now. Our leader had some RL issuses and had to move. He's been offline for the 15 days that the demotion is set to. Today the star moved to one of his other toons that has been absent for 14 days. He had another toon in the same timeframe that had more prestige, but it went to the toon with the most senority.... the one that joined the earliest. If this holds true, then tomorrow it should go to someone else's toon who joined before me, and has logged in within the 15 day timeframe..... we shall see.
  5. Hmmmm....

Maaaaybe if there was a short basic tutorial, it wouldn't take so much time to learn all those little quirks that can be so frustrating.

Maaaaybe, if there was a short basic tutorial, folks would be more inclined to take an active part in the creative process.

Patience? Pahleeeze! I have the temper of both my German and Irish grandmothers! I'm just stubborn and obsessive, hence I got the job.

    I'm just sayin.

I don't think I'm asking for the moon..... although that would be cool too..... just something short and basic to cover some of the common first-timer errors.

Just because you don't think it'll happen, doesn't mean we shouldn't ask for it. That is what this thread is for, isn't it?

NOW..... which room would I put that moon in?.....

To be honest, there is nothing in the base editor that cannot be figured out with time and practice.

Sorry, but I have to disagree here. When I started base editing I found it extremely frustrating and un-intuitive... Here's a sample of a conversation I had with hubby (sitting at the desk behind me).

Me: "Honey, what did you do to this room?"
He: "What do you mean, dear?"
M: "Well, I'd like to change the color"
H: "Go to the color tab"
M: "I did that, and it sort of changes color, but there is a tinge of green that won't go away"
H: "Well then, you're doing it wrong"
M: "How am I doing it wrong?"
    H: "I don't know"
M: "Is there another place to change the color?"
    H: "I don't know"
M: "Well how did you do it in the first place?!"
H: "I went to the color tab"
M: "I was just there!! It's not working!!"
    H: "Well then, I don't know!"
M: "Shi-! Would you just please turn around and look at my screen?!"
    H: *grumble grumble*
"Okay.... where are you.... okay.... well, I think I used that box up in the corner, there..."
    M: *click*
    "Aaaaaannnd?"
H: "There's a color tab somewhere up there.... ah, Lighting"
    M: *click*
"Oh for $%&*'s sake!" *head thunk on keyboard*

Hence the lesson of Lighting vs. Wall Color.

There have been many such frustrating lessons over the last couple months:
"Why won't this room go where I want it?"
"Why can't I move the entrance to any space on a brand spanking new plot with no other rooms even built yet?"
"Teleporter Room must be within path to entrance? but IT IS!!"

    .... and so on.

The fact that I am still building is merely a testimony to my own stubborn and obsessive nature.

It seems to me that even a brief "Go Over the Basics" in-game or in-editor tutorial could alleviate a certain amount of unnecessary frustration that occurs when learning these lessons. Heck, it might even encourage more folks to take advantage of a really wonderful creative aspect of the game.
  7. Leandro, your link didn't work for me...

In general, I have noticed a marked decrease in the number of spam tells. But they only seem to have moved to the e-mail system.

So, perhaps the reference to "a more robust e-mail system" made by.... Statesman, I think.... will mean including a "friends filter" of some sort. Just guessing/hoping, there.

I do like the hidden badge idea, seems much simpler to implement.
  8. Well! Apparently so are the NPC's, 'cause their reflections don't show either. So, what you're saying is we should really be calling it "City of Vampires" or some such....
  9. Has anyone noticed/mentioned that the floors in Atlas City Hall are so shiny they are reflective? A very cool detail.... dunno if it could be done on one of the decorative tiles......
  10. While your guide is certainly informative and helpful, I think Bali's point is that it would be sooo much more user friendly/intuitive/convenient to have an in game tutorial such as that which exists for the crafting of enhancements.
  11. As I procrastinate on my holiday shopping, I dream of decorating my SG with garlands, wreaths, Christmas tree, presents, string lights, and maybe even a punch bowl with eggnog or spiced apple cider... oh, and sugar cookies for Santa, of course.
