Quote:Hmmm... no, but I'll give that a try.You don't get Ninja Run until level 4, did you put in a couple power selections?
For future note, the Official Mids forum is located on the Titan Network:

And thanks for the link, but I'm not registered with the Titan Network... personal preference.

But then, why have them listed at all? lol -

Okay... I've been using Mid's for a while now, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Many thanks and bows to St0n3y & crew.
Sorry my search-fu is so weak, but I have a couple questions.
Most likely, I'm just missing something obvious...
1. I opened up an old file with the new download and Ninja Run was "not available"... got the answer as to why over in the discussions forums... SO, I opened a brand spankin' NEW BLANK file, but Ninja Run still didn't show up... What'd I do wrong?
2. When I try to add temp powers, all the vet powers are white. I can't add my Sands of Mu or Blackwand, etc. Is there a setting or some such that I need to fiddle with?
Thanks in advance -
This actually sounds a lot like the "perpetual zoning" issue that crops up on Test Server every so often... jus' sayin'

Oh yeah, and the "item stays open/expanded" thing.... hate it.
I want my "click to close" feature back. -
-
Tossing in my hat with the "what were they thinking?!!" crowd.
The new market UI is cumbersome. My peeves:
- It's HUGE... what? do they think I need to take up my entire screen with the market UI? I'm old, but I ain't blind! And before you say "fix your window sizes in options", I've done that. My windows are set to scale to 85%.
- It does not filter intuitively.
- If I want to find an immobilize IO, just a regular IO enhancement, I have to type in "invention: " before the key word, or I get every "immobilize" under the freakin' sun! Used to be, if I was in the appropriate sub-category, the search would use that as a filter. That functionality is completely gone, as far as I can tell.
- I cannot view my complete inventory at a glance.
- While the new vertical listing has a small advantage in being able to see the sale history of your items, why sacrifice the "at a glance" function of the old horizontal icons view?
The ONLY positive that I've come across with this new UI, is the ability to see what salvage is needed for a recipe, and to go to whichever salvage I need quickly. But in my humble opinion, it was not a good trade-off. -
I'm wondering if it's actually a complete message:
"Invalid string parameter 11469548"
As opposed to 2 separate lines... it just looks like 2 lines because of the format. -
Adding new bug as of i17:
The item window in edit mode is showing "invalid category string" and wrong price in the info tab.
If anyone is NOT experiencing this bug, please let me know.
If you ARE experiencing this bug, please go to this thread in the Tech & Bugs forums to confirm.

kk... will check it out as well.
Did you take a screenie & bug it?
Always a good idea to have "proof". =)
ETA: Pic!

Where exactly are you seeing this?
In the system chat?
or in the little "item window"? -

But I have a couple questions.
Most likely, I'm just missing something obvious...

Rude Tells thread --->
It's a lengthy collection, but full of lolz... especially the stories from Psychoti. When it comes to witty retorts, we are all n00bs compared to the "twit magnet". -
Items that have inherent stacking ability, such as desks & cabinets, need to be pulled into another room to "un-stack" them.
Items that don't normally have stacking ability (such as lanterns), but have been "granted" stacking ability or floated to seem like they're stacked, can usually be un-stacked without much fuss.
So, if you have desks, or other items with inherent stacking, that need to be un-stacked, you will need to pull your camera out or angle it in such a manner that you can drag the offender into another room.
Note that many desks & cabinets have extra space in their boundary boxes along the front side. If you are nestling the desks, that space usually gets overlapped or stacked upon. If that space is under another item in any fashion, you will need to utilize the "drag into another room" technique in order to move it.
If you want to see what kind of "error" you're getting when you are trying to move something, pull up your chat window by typing in /c so you can see the system notices.
Hope this helps. -
Don't get me started....
Please see the bright yellow link in my sig. -
OOOOOkay... I did some more testing, using NON red-star toons.
Here's the roster I used: one of each rank (except bottom) below top & second leaders.
Here's the progression I used
and the results:
- A: Exemplar gets Modify only, Hero gets Edit Rank only, Sidekick gets both:
- B: Switch Exemplar & Hero settings, Sidekick gets none
- Exemplar can edit permissions below their own rank
Hero cannot edit any permissions
Sidekick cannot edit any permissions
C: Everyone gets Modify settings only
D: Everyone gets Edit Rank settings
So, it appears that editing permissions is related to which rank(s) has "Edit Rank Permissions" enabled in the SG settings, as opposed to having the "Modify Base" setting (as has been the thought all this time). Neither is it restricted to the red-star (unless you set it that way on purpose).
HOWEVER, I do recall those conversations about having the storage bins default to restricted use for Leader & Superleader when placed as a measure of security. If I recall, it was generally agreed that since the permissions would have to be adjusted either way, it was better to err on the side of security (as opposed to defaulting to open for all).
Also, to be clear, it has never, ever, been the case that one would be able to edit permissions/settings for their own rank. Leaders have always defaulted to all permissions, and any "captains/lieutenants" below the leader(s) that were given "Edit Rank" permissions were only allowed to edit the ranks BELOW their own. This has always been the case, and is WAI. -
Hmmm.... That may indeed be the factor.. will test later tonight.
and, Thank You -
Snow Globe, in further testing, I came to a strange result.
In order to be able to change storage bin permissions, I had to be on a toon that was enabled with BOTH "Edit Rank" AND "Modify Base".
Using a toon that had only one or the other enabled, did not allow me to change the base permissions.
Can you verify if this is WAI? -
Quote:As it is now I copy over a couple of my characters with a large share of inf, email it to my main in the SG on test, and convert it into prestige.
Clunky workaround... and so unnecessary when all the devs have to do is "push a button" so to speak. We know the code already exists for prestige grant. -
There is a bug with the star rating system, that I don't know if it has been resolved.
In the text file, you will notice that the toon names for a global are separated by commas. The problem is, if a toon name has spaces in it, it will get commas separating the name out. So instead of "Super Awesome Man", it will read "Super, Awesome, Man" in the text file.
Why is this a bug? Because when the game reads the file to rate the global, it will not see "Super Awesome Man" as a complete name, so "Super Awesome Man" will not have the stars you may have given him earlier. Nor will any of the other toons for that global, unless they are single word names.
BTW, trying to remove the commas in the text file doesn't work... They tend to reappear once the game reads it. -
Thank you W-Wendy.
The sad thing is, most of the list is still composed of longstanding requests that keep cropping up. New builders come in and say, "What about xx?", and the old builders sigh, and say, "yeah, we've been asking for that for a while".
NPC's, water items, more room styles (outdoor/cave/space), and multi-level options are all on the list.
Signage is on the list in various places:under storage, to label bins
Signage/message boards have definitely been a longstanding request. The SG MOTD just doesn't cut it.
under SG usage, to interact & communicate with SGmembers
under building wishes, plaques (or signs) with customizable pop-ups...

Quote:Actually, that has been on my mind, even when I was refurbishing this list. I thought about "highlighting" the low hanging fruit, but then I thought it might just make it look more messy. My next idea was to pluck the low-hanging fruit directly from this list, and start up a new "sub-thread" with it. I just haven't gotten a "round toit" yet.The world knows I have not been an advocate of more lists for the sake of listing. But I think this is going to be the new standard by which we measure progress (or lack thereof) of base related development in the future... much as Mad Scientist's effort has done over these past two years. I was so happy to see someone take the time and make the effort to build on what we already had. I salute your organizational skills. Well done.
I'm throwing this out for your consideration. It, in no way, is meant to detract from your superior effort and I'm not sure if it's even possible... just wondering out loud. Can we somehow flag potential "low hanging fruit" suggestions or suggestions that are extremely popular in nature? -
Starting his post with the phrase "If you're level 50.. " displayed assumption and conclusion all at once.
Zombie's post came off as dismissive of those who are having problems, assumptive of what level toons they were on (which doesn't change the fact that there IS a bug), and did not address the bug itself nor offer a solution to those affected by it.
So, while his "advise" may have been correct, it was hardly helpful.
I just hope this bug gets fixed, and that I don't get bit by it on one of my lower level toons starting the Cim. arc. I'd hate to ask for help, just to find the kind of advise that Zombie just gave.
