  1. Excellent guide!
I find it interesting that you focus on getting the med bay & tps before storage. I tend to do the opposite. Since, as we know, there is quite a jump in prestige cost at a certain point, I find that the most use we get out of the base, while waiting to accumulate it, is storage & crafting. But, as you say, everyone will have to decide their own focus.

I have just a couple little nit-picky edits you might want to consider:

    Quote:
Base 1 thru 3, all less than 300k prestige. Combinations of med bays, teleporters power and energy needs discussed.
Base 4a, 305k prestige, but with control and energy problems (illustrative)
    Quote:
First things first, when you reach level 10 head inside city hall at Atlas (Heroes), or the large building with Arachnos flags all over it in Port Oakes, just south of the Marconeville waypoint (Villains).
Other than that, great job! You've really packed in the info, but organized it in a way that is easy to grasp (pictures goooooood).

Interesting... Is it since i17, or more recently?

The reason I ask, is because in these patch notes for June 8th, there is a note that they "fixed a rare crash bug in Supergroup Bases". As we know, sometimes when you fix one bug, another one shows up.

Has everyone /bug 'ed it in game? or popped over to the Tech & Bug forums to see if those folks might have some input?

  4. I was just using the editor last night and didn't see this issue...

Have you checked in with the Tech & Bugs forums?

The first thing they will probably have you do is double check your drivers... not just through the windows app, but on your graphics card's website. For some reason, the windows app is not working 100% properly.

After that, they may want you to post some specs, they'll tell ya how... then they might have some more suggestions for ya... Smart folks over there, give them a chance.

Text based medium. No body language. No vocal inflections.
    Tips for next time:
tl:dr: Don't be coherent, rational and reasonable.

Don't properly organize your thoughts: you use bold, sentences, and introductions to categories very well.
Don't use proper spelling and punctuation as frequently as you did.
Gradually get more ludicrous. In your post you actual gave more rational support as you moved through your post. "It would make things more easy, I am lazy". Are rational supports. They are true and counter the obvious retort that many others posted: "just reroll" --> "I'm too lazy".
Don't ask "would this help" or "would this work". Your idea cannot be wrong. Take it and run.
Add some logical fallacies: You need some ad-hominem attacks or things that truly don't line up.
    Take some tips from GG...
    Use moar exclamation points!!!!
    and winkies
Because, y'know, he obviously didn't use enough of those...

  6. This is on the BIG LIST of wishes for Base Luv.

    Check my sig.

  7. Okay... some of you obviously were NOT paying attention.

Some of you don't know how helpful Rangle is in general, so you wouldn't get that this ridiculous post of his is so absurdly out of character, you wouldn't realize...

    HE'S JOKING!

You all fail on the sense-of-humor-o-meter.

Apparently, subtle dry humor is too subtle... and dry.

  9. I didn't read Eek's post as an attack, JMS...
I saw it as using your quote as a support mechanism, then expounding upon it.
Because, as you say, Eek basically made the same point as you.

  10. I'm actually okay with having the prompt back. Being stuck with a 20 minute buff is like being stuck with someone else's dinner bill.

It's not optimal, but it's no worse than the dialogue pop-ups at the beginning of some mishes.

Just make these binds to accept or decline teleports, accept or decline trade invites, dismiss mission intro text popups, etc.
    /bind Y "dialog_yes$$dialog_answer Accept"
    /bind N "dialog_no$$dialog_answer Decline"
    (actually, I do shift+Y, shift+N)

Like I said, it's not optimal, but it's better to have the choice.

  11. apparently you can vote more than once...
    once a day?

    reset router?
    dunno the parameters...

but I got 3 votes in for ya (one a day).

Heh. Sometimes you end up stepping on the old fruit to get to that yummy low-hanging stuff.

    Just sayin'
They say when your hobby becomes your job it's time to find a new hobby, so maybe that's the deal here. I know I sure wouldn't be interested in playing an HVAC design MMO.
Not to mention that this game has something other fantasy MMO's don't have.... a way for a player to write their own little story arch.... as well as the BEST game community around.

I'd think that rules out adding NPCs or objects that act as access to WW, Icon, etc for the purposes of this thread.

    Oh! I remembered something...

    * port over some of the costume chest emblems over to SG emblems... I'm not picky, just a dozen more choices would be a nice change of pace.

  17. A little bird sitting behind me made this comment....

"I wonder if Aurora was the patient..."

    hmmmmm....

    .
  18. There's an arcane control aux that looks like a statue (I think it has to be crafted). But that's the only human statue I know of... and it's not exactly like the heroic statues that you see in, say, Atlas City Hall.

    Absolutely agreed.

ALL NEW ART should be introduced as ALTERNATIVE items.

And just to be clear, we're not talking about entirely new artwork. The "new art" that we're talking about here shouldn't be difficult to accomplish... copy old art, edit, rename, insert. They certainly managed it with the beaker racks (except they skipped the renaming part).

    ^^THIS^^

Was a painintheass for me last night.

    * A "no symbol" option for SG emblems. After all, for a while there, some symbols were simply not being rendered/read. It may have been a "bug", but could easily be turned into a feature.

    * change beaker rack back to original artwork. Or, alternatively, re-introduce the empty beaker racks as new artwork... whichever is easiest.

    * Raise the salvage limit on racks to 100, the same capacity as other storage items. (and don't EVEN give me the "market argument", it's a fallacy. If you're really THAT worried about it, do it right before a DblXp weekend.).

*(done!) Set storage racks/tables/bins to store/sort alphabetically, the same as personal storage.

    * Fix the behaviour of the Vault Storage to work like Salvage Racks & Personal storage (ie. clicking, drag-n-drop, etc). This may mean looking at how the Vault works in the game overall.

    * textures on the undersides of the large floor tile and small SG tiles so they are not invisible from underneath. Use the base ceiling and floor skins instead of the white pattern on the floor tile so we can have several options of tiles to choose from (this would greatly reduce the number of items needed for "second floors", thereby also the rendering load).

    * Large wall items, in a similar fashion as floor options suggested above... y'know, to make skinny walls within a room, instead of again using a gazillion desks.

    * A "no trim" option for wall styles.

    * (alternative addition) text labeling for arcane tp beacons (see examples here)

    * (done!) speaking of beacons, fix the bug that is displaying the "destroyed" artwork as default for Grandville & Pocket D. The artwork for these already exists! They are in the files! They are simply not being read correctly.

    * "looking around the game, there are objects like pinball machines, the crates and stuff in the back room at WW, or the stuff in Mr. Yin's store that can and should be recycled for base placement whenever possible." Here is a longstanding list of in-game items that folks have wanted to see since "forever"...

    * Add some device/contact/??? so we can pay rent *from* the base without having to go to AP or PO... Better yet - an "autopay rent" option of some sort.

    * Let players invite/promote/demote their own alts - tie it to base permissions if you like.

    * If possible, bringing in the functionality that already exists in say RWZ (trainer, ICON rep, Hero Corps/Fateweaver, etc.) via new items/artwork.

    * port over some of the costume chest emblems over to SG emblems...

    * How 'bout maybe getting the trees and plants from the planters without the pots or planters.

    * That thin, tech computer without the huge platform attached

.... What else am I forgetting?...

    Remember.... EASY... Low-hanging fruit...

  24. I like the idea, but unfortunately I see problems with implementation.

It might be easier to have a half dozen "generic male/female hero" statues to choose from, but have a customized plaque for each as you mentioned.

Actually, customizable pop-up text plaques (&/or signs/message boards) have been mentioned as a means for labeling & info sharing for SG's before. It's in the Big Consolidated List (see my sig).

Maybe one of these days, Mr. Nakayama will start up a "All things Base Art" thread, and you could add this idea there....
    maybe....
    one of these days...
