There are day jobs in Praetoria (hospital, bank, trade house, patrol...*), but the little gold icon is not appearing. You should, however, see progress in the bars for the badges.
*there are a few others, though not as many as PC/RI.
I assume they will be added along the way.

I believe the Bind Guide in the P-wiki was mentioned, but more specifically, you might want to consider a rotating bind. That way you can incorporate several different phrases... as well as interspersing some silent firings .... all to one key (as opposed to a macro).

[Comment From tomzak tomzak : ]
can heroes and villains be in the same super group?
Positron:
Not yet, but we're re-looking at how to make that happen, because we know a lot of you are asking for it. Don't want to break the game to make it happen though
I have a feeling it will become more important as more players get involved in the side-switching aspect... which is the very PREMISE of this expansion. I'm glad to see acknowledgment that this issue needs re-evaluation.

np, lol....
sometimes all you need is a fresh cup of coffee...

For a given room, there should be a small window that gives that information while in edit mode. You'll need to be in the desired room for it to reflect properly.
For the entire base, go into "upgrade plot" mode.... you don't actually have to upgrade your plot, but there should be an info window that shows all the stats of your current plot.

Corner balconies can only "connect" to the wall on one side... it will automatically flip to the side that wants to connect. That is why there is a "left" corner and a "right" corner. Dunno if this is your problem, but it might be a contributing factor.

Quote:Hmmmm... I think I see where you're going with this... I honestly haven't tested that, so I couldn't say for certain. Snowy might have a clearer answer on that. Or, if you'd like to set up a 15 day test before you open your base, PM me & I'll help ya set up your ranks/permissions....what happens if there isn't someone at the next rank down, will it stay indefinitely or pass down to someone on tier 3?

Thank you, Ladies, for a really fun evening... even if it meant taking our sweet, lollygagging time with the LGTF... (anyone got holds?)
And a HUGE THANK YOU for helping me get my first 50 (and for letting Rangle tag along for it). You gals rock.

POUNCE!!!!
*hugs Greyhawke*
welcome back
Not a whole heckuva lot has changed for bases since i13...
- base raiding is still disabled, making stacking things easier than ever
- salvage racks are still limited to 30 items
- we have a new red Leadership star... only one person may hold it at any given time, they automatically have all permissions, it will only be passed to a qualified person of the next rank down (old leadership stars). It should not fall to anyone of lower rank than that.
- Storage items now have rank permissions you can set on a "per bin/table/rack" basis. You will need to be on a character that has the "edit permissions" setting enabled.

Quote:This. Also, you should try roasting garlic. What you do is you take a head of garlic (whole head, unseparated cloves), cut the top off (so that the cloves are exposed and cut) and drizzle olive oil on it. Sprinkle some sea salt and optionally, fresh ground pepper (not a lot). Get a flat baking pan lined with aluminum foil. Place the heads cut side down on the foil. Bake at 400 for about 30 minutes.
When the garlic is roasted it turns very sweet and not at all like the fresh garlic smell. You can spread the cloves on bread or mix them in with mashed potatoes.
Yum.
I find that the "giant" elephant garlic comes out sweeter than the "regular" stuff.

Not that I know of... and I personally wouldn't know how to go about it.
I dunno if it helps, but the colors in the box range Left to Right in ROYGBIV(RV) order. Each column is then "tinted" from Bright on top to Grey on the bottom. when you pick a color in the box, the "intensity" bar under the color box takes that particular color from it's blackest to it's whitest.
Maybe someone can produce a better picture for ya. I would have no idea how to find "proper names" for all the colors that are displayed.

Went to the Asian market today... It's always a fun excursion (imagine a 5' 6" red-headed Irish/German gal cruising the aisles where most customers average 5' nuthin).
This market has almost an entire aisle devoted to tea (of course!). The fun stuff is the infused honey teas. They are jars of honey "infused" with bits of flavorful things; ginger, orange peel, lemon peel, jujube (new). You are apparently supposed to dissolve a tablespoon per cup of hot water for a "tea"... It sounded interesting... I got the ginger honey tea.
I also love perusing the fresh whole fish, and the live fish/prawn/lobster tanks. There is almost always a bucket of live blue crab as well.. mmm.. tempting, but not for today.
No, I kept it simple today... organ meats for the cats, some ginger, basil, cilantro, burro bananas, quail eggs, and flavored "jellies" (basically little flavored "jello shots" - no alcohol).
As for my mexican style shredded beef - overall, I'm pleased with the result. It did take a little extra work, though.
I ran the crockpot on high for 2 hrs, then low for 5. When I checked it at that point, the meat had shrunk down considerably, the juices having been cooked out. So, being as it was a dense, low fat piece to begin with, it was now even more dense and difficult to pull apart.
I managed to pull it apart into about 6 chunks, and set the pot to simmer on high for another couple hours. After that, the meat flaked apart like magic. I "forked" the shredded meat back in with the juices, adjusted my seasoning (bit of salt, smidge more cumin, xtra paprika), and it's ready for burritos.
I think, the next time I try this, I will sear the meat before slow cooking. That *should* keep the meat's juices within the meat and prevent it from shrinking quite so much and becoming so dense. It seems to follow then, that it *should* be more easily pulled apart the first time 'round, without the extra cooking.

Hubby is in one of his bases on Justice right now, and no problems. I was in another Justice base last night without problems. Could your issues be server-related?

You know I feel your frustration and disappointment. And, I have to admit I had a real "WTF!?!" moment when I realized Praetorians would not have access to any kind of base feature.
Considering that the first character of any new account will be forcibly funneled through Praetoria, I feel that the lack of some sort of base amenities is a seriously short-sighted decision. I've not generally been a big proponent of "personal apartments" in the past, but it seems that this would have been a perfect opportunity to implement something along those lines.
Missed opportunity, indeed. *nod*

My experiment of the day: mexican style shredded beef
First, I made up some fresh salsa: blend in cuisenart (even though I hate the cleanup)...
- 2 x 14 oz cans of plain diced tomatoes (start with one, add the second after a round of blending)
- 2 tomatillos (cut like apple slices & nuke for a minute + 30 sec)
- 1/2 large onion
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped (less if you like, honestly, it doesn't take much)
- chilies to desired heat; dried ceyanne, paprika, chili powder, 1 large fresh anaheim, 1 large-ish fresh jalapeno (include the seeds & inner membranes for more heat).
- a bit of salt & black pepper
- squeezed juice from 1/2 lime (whole one, if small)
- large handful of chopped cilantro (no stems!)
Now, my experiment - the meat... in this case, 3 lbs of beef round tip roast...
- Laid down about a cup (-ish) of salsa in the bottom of my crockpot.
- seasoned the meat on all sides... I tend to sprinkle on the spices in layers and then "pat" each layer into the meat:
- light sprinkle of ceyanne (heat)
- medium sprinkle of cumin (sweet heat)
- light/med sprinkle of coarse black pepper
- heavy sprinkle of paprika (mild flavor)
- med/heavy sprinkle of chili (smoky-ish)
- Put the meat into the crockpot, & topped/packed with
- 1/2 onion, diced fine
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 fresh anaheim, finely chopped
- 1 largish jalapeno, finely chopped (careful not to touch face/eyes at all after chopping the chillies. wash hands thoroughly)
- I set the crockpot to high for 2 hours, then switched it to low for probably another 5-6 (round tip is fairly dense meat, not a lot of fat)

This quote has been attributed to Positron in Zombie Man's "What you need to know" guide:
Quote:To further clarify:Supergroups: If you switch sides, you are currently put on hold with your old SG. You dont lose any of the stats associated with your character (Prestige earned, join date, and the like), but you will not be able to join an additional one. SGs are not going to be made cross-faction. If you have business you need to deal with your current SG before you switch, get it done before hand. This needs to be made crystal clear in game, and we are working to do just that.
Quote:For completeness' sake, Praetorians can get to the Base Portal in Pocket D... but, they are prevented from joining a SG/VG and they can't enter anyone's base, even if their team leader has permissions to let teammates into their base.
Hero bases only accept Heroes and Vigilantes. Villains, Rogues, and Praetorians can not enter in any situation.
Villain bases only accept Villains and Rogues. Heroes, Vigilantes, and Praetorians can not enter in any situation.
Consider these things carefully before deciding to switch your alignments completely. If you take your Hero to full Villain (or vise versa), you have two options:
- remain a member of your former SG/VG as a "member in limbo". You won't have access to the base or any of your stored stuff.
- cut ties with your former SG/VG in order to join a new group on "the other side". This will give you access to a base, but unless you grab all your stored items, they will be left in your former base (which you will not have access to).
This change was also made recently:
Quote:Supergroups - Members of a Supergroup who are of the opposing alignment will no longer be granted Leadership if no members of the Supergroup are of the correct alignment.

Great TT guys! And how awesome to have The Ocho stop by and hand out pretty golden titles. Thanks so much!
Thank you to the organizers for the lovely door prizes, as well as the very generous costume contest awards. I got 3rd place! woot!
I thought the KHTF went about as well as could be expected. We had some returning players, as well as a couple (such as myself) who had not run the durn thing in a good long while.
Even though we were hit pretty hard by Miss Mary Mac's minions end. drain, we fell into a groove; a kind of circulation of "holders" and "resters"... fall back, rest, jump back into the fray... lather, rinse, repeat. There were a few faceplants, but hey, that's the way it goes sometimes.
The last mish was ... well... kinda funny, actually, in a "Keystone Cop" kinda way:
"Where is she?", "Who has her?", "What is she doing?", "We need a flyer", "I got SJ", "She keeps aggroing", "Gah! another ambush"... We did finally get her to the exit, but I was cracking up the whole time.
Everyone kept their good humor, and I think we all had a good time.
