I'm concerned that people would spread 3rd hand information around without double checking their sources. Maybe it's just me, but I see too much of that occurring these days in various media. It's my opinion that this stems from the popularity of certain "networking" activities... but what do I know? I'm just an old fuddy-duddy.

Awww, bummin' I missed this round, but I had to pick up Rangle's sorry @55 from the airport...
(okay, and I was watching my 8 year old second cousin play a baseball tournament... so cute!)

Tossing in my 2 inf on the question of scheduling...
It does seem that option 1 would allow the most flexibility.
I suppose I could go on with all my reasonings, but at this hour it would just turn into random ramblings.

They are an item that you need to craft from a tier 2 ("advanced") worktable.
P-wiki has the pertinent details.
In order to create the water look, the item needs to be floated at least 1 ft/unit above the floor.

Quote:THISHave you ever looked into seeing how the game keeps track of your history plaques? At this point there's really no way to know which ones you're missing. If you have a lot of them, the only way is to either use vidmaps and wiki to make a run for all the plaques you're missing for a badge, or to run grab all plaques on a map, and do it for every map. Both are tedious. ...
would be awesome

You also need to have 1mil inf for a conversion transaction. You will not be able to convert any amount less than that.
1 mil inf --> 2,000 prestige

I died... a lot.
Apparently, Krakens really really really hate Ice.
But I take solace in the fact that I wasn't the only one.
... 2 sm yellows, plz?
Regardless, Sewer Trial was a hoot. Thanks to everyone for keeping a good sense of humor and gittin' it done.

Quote:Have you seen Bonker's Guide for small bases?I'm a beginner base architect and I'm just wanting some insight as to what a base really NEEDS to be functional. It looks now like I'm trying to do too much with too little all the time when I see such massive, elaborately decorated, and defended bases all around. I don't plan on putting defenses in (especially not right now, seeing as Base Raids aren't working, unless I'm wrong) I just want something that my SG/VG ladies and gents can enjoy, so I'm looking for some insight here from more experienced base builders.
My personal approach is to start out with basic salvage, crafting, and 'porter.
I usually start with:
3 salvage racks
crafting table
oversight room with power/control combo unit
vault
1 porter
beacons - you can have all the beacons you want. Only 2 will connect to the porter. Keep 2 on one wall, the others on a different wall. Swap beacons in edit mode as needed.
Some folks might prefer the med bay & rez unit before adding a 'porter.
Give the guide a good look. It's lengthy, but packed with info.

When running my kin/arch, I actually find it rather efficient to allow the tank to gather up a good sized group, hit 'em with fulcrum shift, siphon power, and rain of arrows.... next.

ah.
Well that is a bit confusing, since the notice was in the Announcements section and not the Training Room section. Also her notice says "live servers", not "test servers".

According to Avatea's post yesterday:
Quote:There are no current patch notes on the CoH patch notes page.On Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 we will be bringing all North American & European live servers down for a systems maintenance. The downtime is from 6:00 AM Pacific / 9:00 AM Eastern / 2:00 p.m. British / 15:00 Central European to 8:00 AM Pacific / 11:00 AM Eastern / 4:00 p.m. British / 17:00 Central European.
Patch notes for this publish will be available in the Patch Notes section after the downtime.
Thank you for your patience with this matter!
Did the patch not occur?

Quote:Market PvP in a nutshell.Unfortunately that is not how the market works. The item selling for the lowest price is purchased by the bid with the highest offer.
You didn't specify so I'll assume A < B < C. What will happen is that the first ten items up for bid that are less than C will be purchased by you for C even if the price is less than A or B. After this you will only purchase items that are listed for less than B. Anything listed for more than B (even if less than C) will not be purchased because you've used up those bids. While there are sometimes advantages to placing bids of different values if you want to purchase all of the incoming stock you need bids at the same price.
The problem with this technique is that in general either you take a loss or you don't corner the market (especially for items which cost 2 billion, for lower items you can make a profit by popping the price for a few hours but it's not sustainable).
The problem is the market fee. When flipping (which is essentially what you are doing) your buy price cannot be higher than 90% of your sell price or you'll take a loss. Let us say you are trying to corner the market on one of the really high end PvPIOs. You place your purchase bids at 1.9 billion and you sell the results for 2 billion (making exactly zero profit on the exchange). As soon as someone puts an offer for 1,900,000,001 they will get the next one on the market, not you. If someone else comes and lists their one at 1,999,999,999 the next 2billion bid will go to them, not you.
I'm soooo copying this to notepad for future use.

This is neither:
- a technical issue
- a bug
The OP presented his arguments in the market forums and they were soundly refuted.
The OP then re-posted on the same subject in the same forum.
Then he came here and cross posted the same thing here.
Besides the fact that cross posting is against forum rules, this whole thing is in terribly bad form.

Quote:*pats Dumple's shoulder*Grievously saddened to see that someone got EverStryke's Crazy 88 Recruitment thread nuked.
It's okay. If it makes you feel any better, it's because of that thread that I knew exactly what to say when I got this blind tell on my level 1 toon (Builder's Assistant):
Stryketoon: Hello, would you be interested in joining an SG?
Builder's Assistant: not a chance
I am actually grateful, because it gave me the opportunity to star-rate and note him appropriately.

This is what I found on the official i19 overview page.
Quote:They are not merging the lines cross faction, they are merging the heroside lines and the villie side lines respectively. The Transit Authorities in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles have made major improvements to the monorail and ferry system by merging their respective routes. All monorails can now travel to every monorail station on the Green and Yellow Line, while all ferries can now travel to every ferry station in the Rogue Isles.
As far as I know, there are no plans to add cross faction beacons to bases.
Also, just a little fyi, the rednames rarely post here... very, very, rarely. And honestly, I don't know that you would get a redname response anywhere else, either. These are primarily "player" forums... where players help each other out to the best of our meager (read, "unofficial") abilities.

Quote:Thank you for clarifying.Badgehunter is operated by different people, so this won't be updating your badgehunter stats.
CIT is a website, rather than a program. Unless I'm mistaken, this tracker will add your characters to CIT as you play them and once you've logged in. (Unless you can turn CIT tracking off? I haven't looked)
You need not have Herostats for this to work. I've never touched it.
. -
So... uhmmm... I have a dumb question.
I have never used badgehunter or CIT or HeroStats... I have used Mids...
But THIS little program looks very interesting to me.
My question is, do I need the other programs for this to work? or is it a "stand alone" product?

Just gonna toss in my 2inf, here.
I consider myself a "casual" player. Mostly because I get terribly distracted with base building. I actually play my toons maybe 3-4 times a week for about 2 hours at a time. I have not made my first billion, nor am I overly concerned with it.
I DO have a build for my lvl 50 kin/arch worked up on Mid's.
Actually, I have 5 builds worked up for her - some with purples, some without.
Now, the builds are based on the premise that I plan to exemp with her...
Guess what?... the best build happens to be one without any purples (& without fitness, even).
Funny, that.

Quote:*clears throat*So, any update on the progress of the committee's formation...
Heh. Funny you should ask...
A couple weeks ago, Turbo asked if I would be willing to become involved.
I know I've stated that I would prefer to see appointment by vote, but I'm also pragmatic enough to see the difference between idealism and reality.
So I did accept the position. My role will be the "list keeper".... appropriate, I suppose, since I already have a little head start on it (thanks to the previous efforts of Mad Scientist, Snow, & others).
I feel both humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve the community in this capacity and I sincerely hope I can earn your confidence in this endeavor.

There are very few options for "thin" that I can think of.
The desks & counters are what most folks use, they are "3 ft" (or what passes for a "foot") thick. The short bookshelves are 4 ft thick. The rubble pieces are 1 ft thick.

Base Tip:
You can use the command /stuck to get back to the entrance.
Type it once to get to the nearest doorway
Type it twice to get to the entrance.
Why this works:
Raid rules; doorways are coded as spawn points.
