    bind question...

I totally know what you are going for here, because I was looking for the same thing at one time.

I did try the rotating bind, but as was mentioned, it does not automatically skip yourself. I know it would seem that since you technically *can't* select yourself the bind would just roll to the next file, but it doesn't.

The only thing that sorta works is "target_custom_next teammate". I have it bound to "Q". It will roll through the teammates, but not necessarily in the list order (1,2,3...). It is positional... it will select the next teammate nearest to you and work it's way to the teammate farthest from you. But it WILL go through the entire team roster.

Did anyone bring the ice cream?

2 lb seems a little on the small side, was she a premie?

    yep yep

If you want to do this for your SG, fill in the info in the "description" portion of your SG settings page.

This was just on Test, so not a lot of SG's using it to full potential.

But even on live, more SG's *should* use it... IMO

Someone looking for an SG could simply go to one, click to see what SGs are recruiting, maybe even find some info about the various SGs listed, and then contact the appropriate recruiter(s).

Someone looking for SG members could list their SG there, along with pertinent information for potential members to peruse at their leisure.

Probably too much trouble to do.

And people would probably still send the "looking for sg?" tells.

    Alas!
You can do this at the registrar in Atlas City Hall. Several SG's list contact globals/e-mails/websites in their info boxes. More SG's should.

  7. Going to an "Orphan Stagehands" Thanksgiving today, for friends whose families are too far to visit or, through other circumstances, find themselves "stranded".

The food theme is "whatever you absolutely must have for the holidays". I was going to bring Gra'ma's cheesy scalloped potatoes, but apparently someone already had dibs.

So, since I'm not a huge fan of canned cranberries, I cooked up my own little batch of fresh:

    4-6 oz of fresh cranberries
2 Granny smith apples, cut small
1 tsp zest of an orange
    juice of said orange
    1 cup sugar
    sprinkle of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg

cook up the fruit & spices for about 15 minutes. Mash with a potato masher so the apple chunks are more blended. Add sugar and allow to hard simmer for another 5-10 minutes.

The sugar works with the natural fruit pectin to provide a "set" when it cools. You know you'll get a nice "set" when the juice of the sauce is thick and sticks to a spoon. You can add a little water along the way if it seems too thick... carefully, just a little at a time.

Pour into a pretty bowl and refrigerate. It should keep for a good week, at least.

Oh yes, and I did make Gra'ma's Peanut Butter Balls. According to my Aunt, I am not allowed to elaborate much more than to say; peanut butter + rice crispies (+ some other stuff) + chocolate = YUM.

Believe me this is very annoying when my third tier alt in my SG creates a bin only for me to realize I cannot put anything in it until I login a leader character to change the settings.
It might be annoying, but it's much safer.
If it were the opposite, you'd still have to log in to a toon that has edit permissions to restrict the access... leaving the bin completely open/vulnerable in the meantime.

Me: This is fantastic XP. And this team is a lot of fun.

Leader: Great, glad you're having a good time, would you like to join my SG?

Me: No thank you. I run my own SG, I don't really need another.

Leader: You sure you don't want to join my SG?

Me: No, like I said , I run my own. I like having my own base, plus I sometimes disappear for weeks at a time due to school and real life, most SGs don't like that sort of schedule.

    Leader: That's too bad.

Then I was promptly booted from the team, Mid mission, so I was kicked out of the instance. So I was curious and I sent a tell to the Leader.

Me: Hey man, what's up? Why was a I booted from the team?

    A couple minutes past.

Me: Umm hello? I'd really like to know why I got kicked off the team.

Leader: Why, are you not happy with your decision?

Me: Huh? What decision? you mean not joining your SG?

Leader: Are you happy with your decision?

Me: Did you really just kick me from the team for not joining your SG?

He never responded after that. It was honestly, the weirdest damned thing ever.

We know who that was.... oh yes we do.
    Be happy with your decision.

Just a nitpick... the Oro flashback system won't take you back to ALL the content. But it will take you back to the important content where you may have missed a badge opportunity, or to earn temp powers or merits.

Also, there is currently not much for Praetorian flashback... I believe there may be more added in the future, however.

  16. I thought I saw the options the last time I had to sub up in the NCSoft account payment screen. Granted, I don't think they were "6 for 1", but the 6 & 12 month options were discounted.

  17. I nominate Mad Scientist for his awesome Base Lists.. he no longer posts, but his lists live on (he might be considered mythical, at this point).

I'd also like to nominate Snow Globe for being the epic Badge Guru

    3. Stacked desks causes some texture overlappings. This is that graphical issue you see between the desks that occurs when you move the camera about. This promotes a lot of lag within your base if done frequently.

    4. To me anyways, it looks like noob base work. You can do the same thing and have 12 more options with lamps and avoid texture overlapping. When I go into a base, and all I see is stacked desks and no other forms of stacking I either assume the builder is lazy or just does not know the better options.

The problem is, Chant, in your first post you give reasons why you believe using desks is a flawed process. Your first 3 reasons are logical and well presented.

But your 4th reason is not a support for the argument that the desks are flawed, but that you find flaw in the PEOPLE using those desks. That was an unnecessary comment and was indeed unkind and judgemental toward those in the community who still like to use the process, flawed or not.

You really could have made your case without that 4th "point"... ya kinda shot yourself in the foot with that.

    My base

You have some really nice things happening overall.

I think the concept of the crystal cave is pretty cool, but I find that since the crystals' graphics are screwed up from UM, it's a bit overwhelming. I had several crystals in one of my rooms, and they were such an eyesore with UM I pulled most of them out, leaving only the ones that were buried or partially covered somehow.

  20. Excellent job as always, D_R.
I loved the opening Apex grieving over WW scene, and the underwater shot was perfect. Music was awesome, and pacing was spot on.

    Here's a funny little transcript:

Rangle: Hey, hun... look at this... isn't that you?
Me: Yes dear, and you're in there too, along with the scrapper... fighting the big guy that I de-buffed.
Rangle: I am?... Oh, hey! I am! kewl.

  21. The stickied "i13 stacking tools" thread pretty much covers it. Click on the underlined links in ExChamp's posts. The concept is pretty simple.

Stacker's vid is also handy, but I don't have the link off hand.
