When AE first came out, I thought it'd be great to play other people's stories and I eagerly looked forward to the new fun.
Then it turned into a big farm churner.
Now, I play for tickets. I couldn't give a rat's as--piration about xp, or inf, or drops.
If I get a good story with a ticket farm, that's gravy. But, as many have said, there is soooo much chaff, I don't care to go rummaging for them. Also too many broken mishes means I only play things that are no more than 3 months old.
Now, the other night I had fun with a small team of friends playing AE roulette. The star was the bus, everyone got thrown under the bus. The bus victim had to pick a random AE mish searched by a random word from the rest of the team. We had a couple amusing, one very annoying, a decent farm, and at least one completely borked mission. But honestly, none were terribly stellar for story.

Quote:Hmmm... methinks Forbin (and a couple others) has a point....Quote:I said it before and I will say it again to many insults on these forums even though most will deny it, some of you are being way to rude, the op could be simply confused but no, everyone is to busy looking for a weakness and attack it, its easy to do behind a keyboard, and espically when everyone is attacking at the same time.
Just being so hard on the op, we all make mistakes we all get confused the only ones trolling here are you.
It is funny how some of you appear quite intelligent but at the same time have no patience and jump to conclusions and go just as low as everyone else, true intelligence never jumps to conclusions and understands that patience and wisdom also needs to be used.

Cende, did you steal my thoughts when I wasn't looking?
I would love to see more general chatter in the BBInc. channel. The trick seems to be "timing". Channel conversations are ... limited, in that they can only be seen for a small amount of time. If someone has an interesting conversation in the BBInc channel or even just in the game, I would love to see it brought up here, if just for the sake of "longevity".
Also, creating a little "base chatter" in the other sub-forums is another way of keeping the subject warm.
Links in your sigs... such a simple thing. Link your favorite base thread.
The idea of holding "base events" has merit for keeping people interested and active in this game feature. What kind of events would you like to see?

I believe there is a fix for this on test.

Zone Events
- Neutropolis: The Great Escape
- The first lab section of the Resistance side of the event will now require players to defeat PPD forces and hack the security terminal to unlock the door.
- Teleportation and Recall powers are suppressed when in the lab or underground portions of the event
- The security terminal and the computer terminals at Lucan’s life-support tube will remain present in the world longer, rather than disappearing immediately once their stage of the event is over.

Quote:Unless it was one of those sneaky dev things that the P-wiki folks missed...AFAIK, the maximum number of Missions you can hold is 7, and the number of Story Arcs you can have active is 5.
From ParagonWiki:
Prior to Issue 17, characters could have a maximum of two active main arcs (blue book). With the increased active mission list from three to seven in Issue 17, the maximum number of main arcs that can be active was raised to five[1]. Contacts will not give missions that start a main arc if you are at the limit. They do not prevent minor arcs (green book) from beginning, however.
I think the GM told you the wrong number.
I've seen others say they had 10 open arcs, so it's possible the total is 10, only 5 of which can be main arcs.
I also suspect that Ramiel's arc is considered a "main" arc, so folks who may be under the total 10, but reached the limit for 5 mains might not be able to run the arc. They may need to clear a main arc to make room.

Check out the links in my sig.
This is on the BIG (wish) List for Base Luv.
From everything I've gathered here & there, it's unlikely that we'll get any kind of "overhaul" anytime soon.
BUT, that shouldn't keep us from continuing to "remind" the devs of the things we might appreciate. There's also the list of Low Hanging Fruit for them to consider. So keep the drums beating!

Quote:The "re-makes" are included in the equation for each tier boost.More, actually. You'd need to remake those commons a couple time if you're going to have them all available.
Of course not everyone will want all the boosts for every lvl 50, but it still makes me glad I only have one to worry about.

Quote:What?!!I think that NCsoft's (and by extension the devs) most important point for
the future of the game is the number of folks willing to pony up 15 bucks
to play it each month.
You're telling me that a business that charges their customers a flat rate based on time created a time sink?!
What is this world coming to?!!!
They must be ebil marketeers.

Y'know you can have as many boosts as you want to craft, and switch them out according to need... right?
So, pick one to start with. If it doesn't work, try something else out.

The only problem I've had with it on teams is that I usually can't fire it off fast enough.... By the time the animation is over, the rest of the team has cleaned up!
I find it very useful on smaller teams with a good tank, however. Fulcrum Shift + Siphon Power + Aim + RoA = win. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
(oh yeah, and don't forget the sb/id)
Edit:
Doh! Rain of FIRE... never mind me... nothing to see here...

common component (cc) = 4 shards
uncommon component (ucc) = 1 cc + 8 = 12 shards
Alpha Slot:
Tier 1 boost = 3 cc = 12 shards
Tier 2 boost = T1 boost + 1 ucc + 2 cc = 32 shards
Tier 3 boost = T2 boost + ???
Tier 4 boost = (2)T2 boost + ???
(4)x T1 boost = 48 shards
(8)x T2 boost = 256 shards
T1 + T2 totals = 304
(16)x T3 boost = 512 shards + ???
(8)x T4 boost = 512 shards + ???
Total Alpha = 1328 shards + ???
Considering that the Alpha slot is 1 of 10....
That's a lot of sharding farms.

How many shards
should a shard farmer farm
if a shard farmer wants
as many shards as it would take
for the shard farmer to get
ALL the Incarnate boosts sharded?

Yes.
Looks like this ugly bug is back.
Be sure to /bug it in game.

Quote:Did you complete each mission in the arc yourself, collaboratively?I even ran the arc with a friend from start to finish via his toon and still got nothing rewarded for it and Mender Ram told me to kick rocks lol.
Remember, in order to clear an arc from your list, you need to pick up and complete each and every mission in the arc.
Midnighter's is a little confusing, because folks tend to pile up for the access badge in the last mish. BUT they will still have the arc in their list, because they did not complete the previous missions.
Even so, if you are at the max limit for storyarcs (10, I believe), clearing one of them should open Ramiel for you.
ETA: Actually.... lemme amend that... there are minor arcs & major arcs. You may need to clear a major arc to get Ramiel to talk to you.
From P-wiki:
Quote:With the increased active mission list from three to seven in Issue 17, the maximum number of main arcs that can be active was raised to five. Contacts will not give missions that start a main arc if you are at the limit. They do not prevent minor arcs (green book) from beginning, however. -

Well, on the bright side, now that it's such a "snoozefest", maybe y'all can raise your difficulty.

Quote:That's because it has nothing to do with Cimerora access, as some have suggested. It has to do with the number of arcs you have open.I've had that issue as well. Where Mender Ramiel tells my Brute to finish his other stuff first. Oddly, I've run numerous ITF's on that toon, and even had tea with Imperious... Still won't talk to me.
Perhaps I need to switch to old spice or something.
Since the Incarnate Opening arc is a storyarc, you must have room for it.
The mission in the Incarnate Opening that has you going to Cimerora is an instanced map, you are not actually going to the zone. The previous assumption that it had to do with Midnighter's in particular was a leap to conclusion without actual testing. Most likely the person was full up on storyarcs, and just happened to choose the Midnighter's arc to complete.
