No thanks, and no thanks.
CoH has a wonderful community, I've yet to see a F2P community that compares.
And, I'm already turning off xp so as not to out level content too quickly.

Quote:Heh... Having a kin as my main, I'm so familiar with the set that when I then turn around and play my eng/eng blaster I look for the telltales for fulcrum shift and/or siphon power (if there's a kin on the team). If I see either of those powers go off, I hit build up + aim + conserve power + nova.... BOOM ... then I swallow a little blue pill and casually clean up any leftovers. Also, Fulcrum Shift + Nova is one of the most beautiful things in the game, if your video card can handle the flying bodies.
Kin/arch is a tricky combo to play. On the one hand I need to be in range to benefit from my own heals/buffs/etc... on the other hand, using my arrows at range is also useful (even though I can/do use arch in melee). FS + SP + RoA = win

Just a quick note here... Base Empowerments last for an hour... not the 15 min.s stated in the description text.
Also, you can stack different empowerments (invis + hold resist + psi resist...).
The trick is to have the salvage available for your favorite buffs. With the 30 item restriction on base salvage, it likely means you'll need to keep reserves in your personal inventory.
ETA:
Another little note, the stations come in 3 tiers, one built off of the other. The tier 3 stations have pretty much everything on them.
ALSO, the tech and arcane versions have slightly different recipes for some buffs. We keep a tier 3 of each "style", so that if we're missing salvage for the recipes on one, we can check the other... more options are usually a good thing.

I have never, on any toon, with any combinations of all the powers listed, been able to run the slopes successfully.... not even going for a medal... just successfully at all.
I just don't have the "twitchy feel" for it.
I finally gave up and let hubby run a couple toons for the badges.
We had a friend over when Hubby was running his toons one evening, and she says, "OH, that looks so easy... I bet I could do that". So I plunked her down on one of my toons, showed her the controls, and let her have at it.... for an hour solid. She finally gave up too.
Sorry, but I hate,
hate,
hate,
hate the slopes.

Actually, they didn't "give" us the ability to stack things... stacking was never an intentional design feature. That's why a lot of items don't have "bottoms", because they were never intended to be seen from that angle. Also, it cuts down on rendering. There's a certain haphazardness about base items that makes me think when bases were first introduced, there may have been several different artists working on the base items. Some things have bottoms, items are out of scale with each other, and some items ended up in different categories...
Stacking is actually a "happy accident bug", that the developers have allowed to exist because they've seen all the really cool things folks have done with it.
Hopefully, though, we can keep nudging them for more items that do have bottoms (AND, as you've shown, that already exist in game!)... Heck, just giving the big floortile a bottom skin would cut down on rendering for a lot of folks (less desks used for flooring).

BTW... the invalid string parameter in the item info window is a bug from i17.

Quote:Really? I have them paired in a single keybind and don't have any problem with firing them both. ID is sort of "icing" to SB, IMO, so I rarely worry about sending it out separately.... if you take ID it has a longer duration which ruins syncing both powers. ...
My Hubby tanks, I kin... it works.
Quote:Oi!
Less posting on the forums and more blue crack applying!
I wants me some SB!
Quote:I'm pretty bad about giving out SB..on my fire/kin corr, but i spam transference whenever possible, so people constantly have full end.. and FS is active, so they have capped damage.. (which means, you need less attacks to defeat mobs)
Does that work?

Quote:What we're trying to say is, do you have a stealth IO (perhaps from another set) in another power, such as in sprint? You can only have one stealth IO in your entire BUILD, it's not just about the set or the power.I only have the Fly and End one slotted in there i dont have an alt build for this toon either so im positive its no where else.
If you truly do not have any other stealth IO's in any of your other powers then I would petition and get some customer support.

Looks like a bunch of fiber-optics to me... that tech has been around for ages... this just looks like an interesting application.
For Superman, though? bleh.

I've been following this thread with interest, as I have an enrg/enrg blaster that needs respecing as well. I was also considering getting tough/weave, especially since any defense/resist I get is going to be coming from the power pools. I have the option of power boost... but I need something for it to boost in the first place (75% boost of 0 is still 0).
Thing is, I love cj, I have it on my kin def, and it is a fantastic IO mule. BUT my blaster is a pixie, and is therefore predisposed to take hover/fly. Now hover is still a decent IO mule, but I can't just leave it at that. The rest of my options come down to maneuvers, tough, weave, and...?
Oh yes, and I absolutely *must* have hasten.
*sigh*
My poor punchy pixie is a mess right now (lvl 40).

Quote:I'm old.One of the City's last honest cop, framed as the City's big bad, believed killed but taken in by a group of circus performers, taught various skills to craft a superhero persona similar to his son's favorite comic book hero. Summer Glau is the young honest reporter who teams up with him while he tries to bring the real bad guys to justice and clear his name.
The first thing this synopsis reminded me of was Lord Valentine's Castle.
'scuse me... gotta go color my hair... the grey is showing again.

Stealth IOs are Unique. You can only have ONE in your entire build.
As DarkGob said, sounds like you might have one from another set already slotted.

As in... literally the only toon/character in the group?
or the only player in the group?
In the first case, I think you retain the red star, but you still might loose your permissions & access. Dunno for sure.
In the second case, the red star will fall to the next toon/character in rank/seniority.

So glad that set up didn't go to waste.

Heh Stacker, you're awesome.
I just have a little 3 laner in the club loft

Quote:I've been using esc. to "un-queue" powers... that is, if they have the dotted red line around them, it disappears. It may be a side effect from deselecting the mob, or it may be that it just happens to work when I don't have a mob selected... dunno. Hadn't really gotten that extensive with it. Just found it by happy accident, and have been using it to "un-queue" a power that I didn't really want to fire off (y'know when my fingers get too twitchy).Esc is going to deselect whatever mob you have targeted but whatever power is queued is just waiting for you to target a mob and be in range, and as soon as you target anther mob that power will fire.

Quote:You guys... please re-read what Snowy said:Same here - did so yesterday, in fact. The Honoree did NOT require me to defeat the Rikti that had spawned in the room.
Quote:The writing is already "on the wall" in game for the Holtz/Honoree mission. Try defeating Honoree first and clicking on him. His text tells you that you have to clear the Rikti as well. So we will likely have to deal with a practically unending stream of Rikti coming out of the portals for ZERO xp/drops just to get the mission to end.
Heaven help you if you are a solo squishy vs 100+ Rikti & 2 EBs.
By defeating Honoree FIRST, you get a different message than if you defeat Holtz first (I think).

Quote:Excuse me.... have you seen the LOW HANGING FRUIT for Base Luv thread? As I implied something like a cooldown to discourage invite spamming was a relatively simple thing to implement. On the other hand no matter how many people have been complaining about base improvements the amount of work the Devs would actually have to do to "fix" bases properly would be huge. It'd probably almost be on the order of requiring another $30+ retail expansion pack just for bases alone.
Sadly the fact that bases have received almost no improvement since they were introduced doesn't surprise me very much. The Devs' primary concept for them was to be places for massive PvP battles and we all know how well that turned out.
*hint* It's in my sig.

Just a tiny little side note... if you have an attack que'd, and it hasn't yet hit animation, I believe you can hit esc. to un-que it.
