Quote:Understandable.well It would be nice to hear SOMETHING about it. Not hearing anything at all causes rampant speculation, Like what is happening here.
It is being worked on.
But until there are results...
Part of the work entails having these kinds of discussions.
Like I mentioned earlier:
We need to provide good, solid, unemotional reasoning for the devs to justify spending the resources.
That's part of the work.

Sorry, not I.
You might try asking in game in the bases channel (garrr I can never remember its proper name)... Someone might have one in their base that they could measure out for ya.

Quote:Mmmmm... if it weren't for the "health" benefits, I'd say that sounds almost villainous!I brew my own beer and there's a lot to be had out there. When I've got a cold or I want something with an extra kick I'll often bottle it (instead of just siphoning direct to a keg) and then add a dried chili to the bottle. Leave it for three weeks and it blows your head off and clears up the cold in an instant!!!
Works better than most traditional "cold" remedies and it's beer too. Personally I find it much better with lighter beers and ales, lager, IPA etc. Not so great with stouts and porters tho.
Actually, a friend and I did some pickling last November, and we put some dried cayenne peppers in some of the jars. The flavor didn't seem to come through with the sweets, but the dills had a little extra jump kick.

What's cookin'?
Hero, Villain, Rogue or Vigilante; we all gotta sustain ourselves, keep up our strength, or just take a freakin' break from our everyday escapades...
I've got some ginger beer percolating in my pantry.
Instead of regular bread yeast or cake yeast, I actually tracked down the only store in a city of 1.5 million people that sells brewing equipment & live brewing yeasts. I asked for a yeast that would be mild flavored, so as not to impinge on the gingery flavor.
Mind you, I only used one little packet (about 0.25 oz), but it seems to be working plenty fine.
The recipe I chose to use is a bit of a "long brew" compared to many other recipes on the interwebs. Good for folks who have patience and Control.
Suffice to say, if you are a Speedster, or if you are a bit of a lightweight, (though, even the long brew will yield a less than 2% alc. content), there are recipes out there for you.
So, what's on your menu?

An xyz axis is apparently NOT a small thing to implement.
They tried it.
Once.
It mucked up the works.
Bigtime.

lol
ginormous gelatinous goo...

Quote:I also found this post incredibly insensitive. They claim that they do not have the resources to direct toward the issue, yet they just donated $5 million to the relief efforts for Japan.
I'm not saying doing so was wrong, I'm just saying the devs have been blowing smoke up our arses for years on this issue.
Sorry A_Angel, as Ironblade said, there is a difference between NCSoft and Paragon Studios.
If you want NCSoft to increase the budget for PS so that we can get some Base Luv, it would be better to couch your arguments in terms of the game itself, not what they are doing outside of the game.
You want Base Luv?
So do I.
But criticizing NCSoft for giving humanitarian aid dollars is not the way to get it.
Yes, NCSoft is "the boss" now, so Paragon Studios needs to have solid, logical reasoning to justify spending the resources on a game feature that has proven to be extremely difficult to manage. Seriously, if you don't think the base coding is like a giant Jenga tower, you have a short memory of the things that got snafu'd when they tried to work with it.
This is about the game.
It's about business.

If you're just talkin' prestige, lvl 25+ earns a higher percentage of prestige.
Of course, the higher you are, the more your defeats are worth.
You can find the progression of earnings on this P-wiki page

Quote:Nice.A stand alone base editor is a fix all. The ability to edit, save, send, share, and improve on bases...with updated tools of course.
A stand alone base editor that is easily distributable throughout -the world- would be one hell of a way to advertise.
Does anyone remember the short lived stand alone costume creator? I do.
Try combining the two.
I can see the fan sites now. providing links for people to download. "You can create a character, you can build a base, but in order to play with any of it you have to join the game"
Once people get into it they would HAVE to get an account.
It's a win/win situation.
What level of resources do you think it would take to implement this idea?
. -
.
First, I love seeing the ideas.
Many of them have been put forward before.
But I'm not seeing a lot of "convincing".
Add the WHY/HOW to your suggestions. Spell it out. Seriously. It's what they've asked us to do.
This idea will bring in customers because...
This idea will benefit current players in this way...
Keep it brief and straightforward.
Bullet point it if you have to... we need to give them solid reasoning.
I love you all; your passion, ideas and artistry are inspiring.
BUT, the devs are in such a position that they also need to "convince the suits".
We can help them help us, but we need to do it a certain way.
Something else to consider; is your idea a "necessity", "simple quickie", "moderate effort", or "complete overhaul" type? This is a big factor. The more effort needed to implement an idea, the more powerful reasoning it will need.

If I had any members they would either be well informed of "/macro STK stuck" or I would arrange for a medbay upfront with the rest of the base functions.
That's just intelligent design, not everyone is an intelligent designer.
Quick note on the /stuck command...
If I recall correctly,
Using it once will take you to the nearest doorway,
Using it twice will take you to the entrance. -
Quote:Yes, Mr. H., but the crux of the OP's comment lies here, I think:"why would someone design a base like this?" I am designing a labyrinth to hold a race in which winners or anyone that completes it will win 100M inf until I run out of reward money. I plan to do this regularly to boost the popularity of base building -and- to generate interest from the big wigs so that hopefully, some resources will be allocated to updated bases...making them relevant again.
"This is cruel and unusual." yep!
Quote:I play a lot and I can't imagine going through this every time I play.
would you?

To answer the original question....
The Devs want to know why/how investing resources into improving the base/building feature is good for the overall health of the game.
How will improving bases bring in more customers?
How will improvements benefit current players (not just builders)?
They've asked us to convince them.
Whining is not convincing.
Begging is not convincing.
Ranting is not convincing.
"Because we want" is not convincing.
When you make suggestions/requests, try to keep these things in mind.
It's hard, believe me I know, because frustration can be so overwhelming.
Lordy, how I know it.
But try.

Quote:I would take "pro" to mean "professional". As such, I could see an alternate meaning attached, as in someone who engages in the "oldest profession" (prostitution). That's short for "Proficient" in the US. To be a Pro is to be well-skilled at something.
I'm kind of afraid to ask, what does it mean in the UK? The only thing I can find online is "Public Records Office"

That would be 9:30 AM for me... doubtful that I'll make it.
Perhaps another time.

Nice of you to necro this...
Please see the links in my sig.

It's a six parter, and I rarely get it done in one play session, even with a team.
In fact, getting a team together to run it is like pulling teeth.
It may not be "difficult", per se, but everyone I know thinks it is jaw-cracking tedious. And it's annoying that Cim is gated in this manner.
I understand the gate, but I would also like to see an alternate gate for it.

Quote:Even though the BIG LIST for BASE LUV still seems as long as ever, and even though i13 was, to many of us, the "salvage nerf of doom", there have been some small improvements inspired by the players:It's a great feeling to come back and see that the devs haven't forgot about us. It leaves me with hope that the other impossible fixes (bases, pvp, um... bases) still could potentially happen one day.
individual salvage rack permissions
lower rental rates
Super leader (was not a direct suggestion, but addressed some problems with SG inheritance)
Death of Raid Pathing... okay, that was due to some serious coding/programming snafu, but many builders have been enjoying the benefits.

Inspiration window has always drifted about for me as well.
It is indeed annoying.
Sometimes, when my cursor hits a spot where the window used to be (but has drifted away from), the name of whatever inspie was in that position will pop up.

Folks have covered the basics here, but you may also want to take a gander at Bonker's Guide for Building a Small SG He offers a few different room/cost configurations.
Also, there is at least one "storage" item that requires power/control; the vault. Though, in a way, it's more of an "access" item for you to easily access the items in your personal bank/vault storage.
. -
Looks like Greyhawke's thread listing heights of various items has disappeared. Good thing I printed it out way back when.
Dunno if it will help, but he lists the "tech generator" as 16 ft tall (same as storage racks).
Don't have width or length though. Easiest thing is to measure by desks (3x3x6, if I recall) or small bookshelves (4x3x1, I think). Been a long time since I actually measured anything, it's not been necessary much with the loosened pathing rules.

Quote:As a defender, I tend to hang toward the mid-back of the group when I hand out buffs. MM pets, especially demons, have blocked my path on more than one occasion when I needed to get back into the action. Maneuvering around demons can be frustrating and annoying, but I've never quit a team on account of it.Weird, I can see a melee not wanting Demon pets blocking path but why would a Defender said "ugh"?
And I do not buff pets. Sorry.
