I'd understand the second costume slot being a 'normal' costume only due to how you obtain it (you need a normal costume for a mission), but at least have another Arachnos costume D: Maybe the fifth one?

It's not as fun when you notice everyone and their mother has a SS/WP Brute as well, though. Last LRSF I was on had 3 SS/WP Brutes on it.

Haha, and I thought I was the only one I knew who played with an SS/SR brute. It's certainly different, though. Pretty weak until you get more powers, and you pretty much need to take your whole secondary. Hope it will be worth it at the end though.
  3. Heh, what I'd rather have is a ninja-style running sprint toggle. Since sprint animations override superspeed, my ninja characters would finally run like the ninjas you see in the comics and manga.
  4. Players start having lots of trouble against +4, even more so against +5. Their damage goes down the drain at +6, and they'd be lucky to hit it at +7. And +8 will probably not give you exp at all, even if you did manage to win.
  5. For some odd reason, nobody has mentioned what Indomitable Will is. It's a click power which gives you scrapper-level resistances to disorient, holds, sleep, confuse and fear for 90 seconds along with defence to psi. Ill/Rads can cut down on the recharge a lot, though it's not perma without severely messing up your build. Just that alone is enough for most controllers to take it.

As for the single target attack, it might be a weak attack (considering pretty much all controller epic ST attacks are weakened due to containment making them 'too strong'), but it has a starting range of 100ft, default for most psi attacks. So, it can be quite a good pull move if you want.

As for the Psi Tornado, well, it's almost on par with Fireball, though in the controlling aspect, it's even better due to the knockup. You could even slot a Force Feedback: Chance for Recharge in there if you wanted...
  6. If they do do it, as Ravenswing says, then at least make it so that if you complete their storyarc, fill up their progress bar so you can all sorts of inspirations from them, rather than the default three. :3

It didn't appear on my character, at any rate; I'll try again on a different character, perhaps.
  7. Increase Density is a nice place to pop a Steadfast Knockback Protection too. :3
  8. Pity that developers never visit the UK forums other than War Witch then, isn't it? :3

*sob* I want my contacts! XD

Ide! I didn't know you were as addicted to Scrappers as me!

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm only using my DB/WP and MA/Regen scrappers! I haven't used the Spines/Dark (who's stuck at level 39) in a while due to being too easy in teams, and the BS/Dark is just too end-inefficent, so I stopped playing with that one.

    Patrons

The only time you want Electrifying Cages on Super Strength is if you have Handclap. Pop the cages, and handclap, and you have your ghetto pbaoe hold. Enemies unable to move, and all stunned.
  11. Giant Monsters which use moves like Footstomp should have enough knockback to well, knock back anything, much like how the Rikti bombs can knock back tankers, only to a higher degree. If they just so happen to have Knockout Blow, then increase the knockup so much it rockets whoever was on the receiving target up into the air so high it takes them like 10 seconds to hit the ground.

I've always wanted to see Jurassik punt someone with his car stick so hard they go flying back into the wall (or horizon if outside!) regardless of AT...
  12. Hrm. Well, at least when you manage to hit them, they take normal damage. :3 The old MoG is still +def/+res, isn't it?
  13. Since most people like to actually team with other people, it means that sometimes, we don't get to do our own missions all that often, and thus, some of our maps will appear devoid of all contacts.

Using the Flashback system, we can go back in time and collect storyarc souvenirs, and temp powers from contacts who we have never met before in our hero/villain career. However, if we have never met that character before doing the Flashback, they still remain unknown.

Wouldn't it be better to have the contact now open on the map so we can always buy inspirations from them once we complete their storyarc via Flashback?
  14. We've seen how changes to player powersets can affect enemy powersets. Just look at Devices' turret which changed to a flying machine of almost uselessness, which affected Malta's turrets (which were better than player versions anyway) so that they could fly too.

So, how about changing the Paragon Protectors who use the old Moment of Glory to the new version? I'm tired of not being able to hit/hurt them for three whole minutes despite two Accuracy SOs in each attack, and popping yellows. If it only lasted 15 seconds, it would be much better.

(of course, good thing that there's no PPs which use Elude, otherwise I'd really be complaining... or is there?)
  15. Broadsword/Dark Armor - super end hog, after I hit level 15, I couldn't be bothered playing with this alt anymore. I have altaholism, so maybe one day...
Dual Blades/Willpower - like everyone else during the test run, I made one of these and joined parties made solely of this specific powersets. Put aside for a while, but recently came back to this character and now she's level 37.
Martial Arts/Regen - When I create characters, I try to pick something which I haven't used before. As this character's backstory was connected to a Energy/Invul Brute, a Super Strength/Super Reflexes Brute, and a Elec/Elec Brute, it pretty much left this option to use on my new Scrapper (can't use Dark/Dark, that's too evil looking ). Once she hit SOs, she was able to solo EBs quite effortlessly, which is pretty nice.
Spines/Dark Armor - yeah, everyone secretly has one of these, don't laugh
  16. Can't log in three of my characters. Both are stationed in Talos, so wondering if there's a connection...

(edit - updated to three. All three are in Talos)

    Your Blasters...

Fire/Devices (level 29, hasn't been really played with since issue 4)
Ice/Energy (level 28, play with him every now and then)

The Ice/Energy blaster seems more fun than the fire/devices one... but that's probably due to issue problems
  18. Has anyone ever experimented with putting a Force Feedback chance for +recharge into Phantasm? Since he has two knockback powers, and a decoy which uses knockback powers too, I figured that slotting him with one of these would help make his Energy Torrent and Decoy Phantasm recharge faster for him whenever he attacks.

However... it seems to have messed up his AI quite a bit. His powers may recharge faster, but now he always moves into close ranged blasting (i.e. right next to his target) after a couple of blasts. As a result, he will almost always die against an Archvillain I'm fighting, or move into close range when he shouldn't do, which kills him.

Is this a known bug, and any chance of being fixed? o_O
  19. Hrm, I built my recent Empath specifically because in PuGs, people I teamed with were lazy on their Empaths with auto-heal. In fact, she's Empath/Energy, and at level 13, have three single-target Energy blasts at the moment (GASP), and oddly enough, people haven't complained that I'm blasting along with everyone. o_o

With a five-button mouse, it's easy enough to set Clear Mind onto one of the buttons, and click a player on the player list to buff them, and two minutes is pretty long, so it doesn't feel as hassling as Kinetic's Increase Density with its one-minute duration. Starting to wish my mouse had more buttons so I could bind Fortitude on there too (the other button is for Heal Other).

Oh, one point I have to bring up is - for the love of god, PLEASE TAKE KEY POWERS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. I've ran into at least four Empath defenders who took Fortitude (arguably one of the best powers EVAR) at level 35 or later.

    themed sg's

I remember seeing a SG on either heroes or villains which consisted of nothing but hobos, tramps, and the destitute. :3 It was pretty funny, haha.
  21. Description:
A good Mastermind always plans ahead, but a great one knows when to make a strategic sacrifice. You have equipped all your henchmen with explosives. When the time is right, select a henchman and set off the Detonator. Undead and Robots are easily rigged and will blow up instantly, devastating nearby enemies. Ninjas, Soldiers and other free thinking henchmen will try to place the explosive on the ground and get away. But you know... the fuse is short.

From the end of the description, can Thugs, Soldiers and Ninjas actually occasionally avoid being blown to bits? Or can someone describe for me what actually happens? I'll assume for Robots and Zombies, they just instantly blow up, but I'd like to know the effects it has on more sentient henchmen
  22. I would suggest letting the enemy mobs keeping the old Flares I'm thumbs up for Fire having a new minor damage power as long as the activation time is quicker . Not too sure on this "all powers will have same activation times", as that's what made most of the powers unique... and yes, I know Radiation has hideous activation times, especially for its AoE, but how many other powers get to form a ball of radiation and lob it at opponents with a mushroom cloud?

    Dual Swords Team

    [ QUOTE ]
    True - gimped SuperTeam ftw!

    [/ QUOTE ]
It may be gimped, but darned if it isn't fun as hell. Been rolling with nothing but DB/WP scrappers and tanks (generally team of six scrappers and two tanks) from 1-10, and we've had many deaths, but many awesome moments of slashing sounds all over the place with WEAKEN WEAKEN WEAKEN flying everywhere

    My funny moment

My funny moments in PvP is whenever I'm with my brute working off (or should that be working on?) debt badge in Bloody Bay, scrappers and kheldians and other melee classes come fight me while I'm fighting mobs, not realising my fury bar is over 90%.

Oh, and another is when my brute was looking for location badges pretty high up in the air, and I noticed a scrapper following me. My general policy since I'm not a big fan of PvP is to actually watch what they do and react, and sure enough, they slowly floated to me from behind and stabbed me. So, turned around and Air Superiority'd him to the ground, chased him with sprint on, and repeatedly to pummel him. Doing a quick /whois check, discovered he was level 15, and thus, missing a lot of powers. He swore a bit at me with colourful language, I just smiled and used taunt emote and moved on.

In Warburg, I was having a friendly fight/boxing match with a scrapper (no running away, first to fall loses, so use of all inspirations/accolades allowed, etc), and a blaster decides to blast both of us with an aoe. We break the fight immediately without any communication and lock onto the blaster, hold him down with temp holds and such, and smash the heck out of him. It was pretty awesome how synchronised it was.

    Anti Matter AV

I have it on my controller which I use for farming, along with Neuron (it's a double AV mission). /t @Ideon when I'm on, and I'll log on my controller if I'm not busy in a TF.
