Quote:Doesn't failing missions on TFs/SFs drop the amount of merits you get? At least, that's what I think I remember... or was it just a rumour? There are teams who specifically look to 'speed' through the LGTF.
This involves getting Miss Yin killed in the 1st mission, getting Infernia and Glacia killed in the 3rd, as well as stealth/recalling to objectives and defeating the minimum possible mobs.
Its certainly not how I like to run the TF, and I think if the team were plannign to run in that manner, they should have been better at communicating this ideally before it started and certainly during it.
For a 'general'/non-speed run through it sounds like you were going just fine. -
Well, if you eventually get around to it...

It's originally designed for a team, and preferably level 38 or higher, so there is an EB is almost every mission with an AV at the end. The old difficulty allows you to fight bosses-turned-into-lieutenants and EBs-turned-into-bosses, and AVs-turned-into-EBs in MA, but I'm not quite sure how the new difficulty affects MA, so be prepared. -
You should have enough slots to do what I do - make one of everything! That way, you'll get more knowledge of how each class works, and what each one can do.
As for what I have villain side...
Brutes: 5 (nrg/inv, elec/elec, ss/sr, stone/wp, claw/ea)
Masterminds: 4 (thug/dark, ninja/ta, zombie/storm, robot/trap)
Corruptors: 4 (rad/rad, ice/cold, sonic/thermal, ar/trap)
Spiders: 2 (crab, wolfspider/bane)
Widows: 1 (fort)
Stalkers: 1 (claw/nin)
Dominators: 1 (plant/psi)
If you decide to make more than one of a specific AT, remember to choose different powersets for each one.Doesn't have to be a FotM, or it can be one, as long as you find it fun.

This has been bugging me for YEARS, so finally gonna mention it.
Upper Body - Tight
Chest - Techbot
On the male body, it looks fine, since presumably, that's what the costume was designed for. But on a female body, the line under the male pectoral muscle is now layered on top of the breasts which looks just weird. If Jay, in his infinite grace decides to go back and revise some of the costumes, perhaps the line could be removed?
Oh, Jay is sexy, but everyone knows that. :3 -
- Top Tier: Invulnerability, Shield Defense, Stone Armor, Super Reflexes, Willpower
- Middle Tier: Dark Armor, Electric Armor, Fiery Aura
- Bottom Tier: Energy Aura
-
Doesn't Granite work with dual blades anyway? Though I've never seen a Granite using Typoon's Edge or 1K Cuts, I'm sure it looks equally hilarious.
-
I just made a Claws/Energy brute too, haha.
On my planned build, stats will be around:
Smash: 37.3% def
Lethal: 37.3%
Fire: 32.8%
Cold: 32.6%
Energy: 38.2%
Negative: 28.2%
Psionic: 6%
Defence seems pretty horrid on Energy Armor, although I opted not to take Weave. In comparison, my SS/SR brute is softcapped to Melee/Range/AoE despite only half-completing her build.
Guess I should play it like a Hunter, as Leo_G suggested. :3 -
I'm thinking since Dummies con as enemies, if there's nobody around to spawn them, and someone logs on roughly where they are, they don't spawn, similiar to existing outside mobs.
-
So, we were told we would get free Tailor sessions when i16 is live.
Quote:We didn't get them! Will they be retroactively granted to us?From Developer Diary 1
To that end, every character in the game will receive a free Tailor session for every costume slot they have unlocked, when Issue 16 is released on the Live servers this summer/fall. This is our special thanks to our players for never giving up on suggesting the feature to us, no matter how "impossible" we might have said it was to do in the past. -
Quote:Valkyrie's one is kinda special though, it's casted immediately after she uses Rise of the Valkyrie, her self-rez. So, you can defeat her normally the first time around... it's just once she self-rezs, you may be better off just running away for 2 minutes until it wears off.The one and only version I hated and still hate belongs to none other than Valkyrie.
Seriously, that girl is ludicrously tough. Me and a team mate were duoing her, and I had her debuffed seven ways past hell and back with rad/rad. And she just would not die. EB level might be strong, sure, but everytime I fight her, I think 'You're taking the blue freaking michael...' -
Quote:Aren't Fire Imps the kings of aggro? :3 You have three times as many chances that a Fire Imp will go "omglooksomeoneisstaringatmeKILLIT".I think Fluffy may have a longer range on his powers, hence more "Oh hai guys, wassup?" from him than say, imps.
As for perception, you might have an aura which increases perception on the Dark Servant, such as Tactics? -
Quote:From the sounds of "Bosses", I gather one of you vs many Bosses at once? The reason for this post is to pick the brains of the more knowledgeable members out there to find out if a fire/therm is able to solo a EB/AV/GM? I've tried taking on Bosses with my 39 troller and gotten waxed within seconds, so must I take a Kin in order to solo Bosses or do I just need more time working with my troller?
Multiple Bosses is almost always more powerful than a single Elite Boss. :3
Any controller can solo a single Boss simply by stacking holds on it. -
I generally go into first person when flying (sometimes), or when playing with a character who has a graphic which leaves giant trials (dark miasma shield, or superspeed, for example).
I also go into first person when I notice weird graphical anomalies (*cough*Countess Crey*cough*)... -
I like scrappers, stalkers, tanks and brutes, because they're all self-sufficient and have damage and protection.
I like blasters because they have super high damage but have a glass jaw in return for high octane play.
I like defenders and corruptors for a mix of blastering laced with the ability to buff or debuff or support as required.
I like masterminds because I become a one-man army.
I like controllers and dominators for controlling mobs along with pets.
I like kheldians for shape-shifting forms, allowing me to be a blaster, a tank, a scrapper, and a controller depending on which one I choose.
I like soldiers and widows for unique team play. Plus they all have mez protection, and are a mix of different ATs.
... Yeah. :3 -
Don't Vanguard heavies and the Longbow heavy have beam weapons? Just copy that for the tier9, only make it bigger.
-
Used to take one at 14, but now it's later, though I'll try to fit one in at 24 or lower, so I can travel around in Bloody Bay fast enough to get what I need. You can use temps in there, of course, and you may want an additional attack power instead to take down turrets, but that's how I roll. :3

Quote:On the plus side, super sidekicking should, in theory, boot everyone up to -1 the leader's level if they're not already there, so you won't get any more people in Positron TF at level 10 claiming they do fine against level 15 or higher enemies.Positron did not say anything about changing the requirements for TFs, only for Hazard Zone entrance, so I would assume that all players on the TF must be the right level.
Remember, SKing changes your Combat Level, not your Security/Threat Level. TF/SF requirements involve minimum Security/Threat Levels.
If you want to power level, do it in AE, not in a task force! XD
But wait, if the leader is at level 10... will everyone higher be exemplared to level 10? -
Quote:Some of the times seems a bit off. Here's a good list that was created for mobile users: http://docs.google.com/View?id=ddb97fvv_20fpc8r9gn
It has every TF, estimated time, merits and a summary of the missions.
Katie Hannon Task Force is somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour for a PuG.
Manticore Task Force is 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, not 2 and a half hours.
Eden Trial is 20 minutes if speed running, 1+ hour if normal.

As the title says.
We EUians want our EU colour schemes from the old forums for selection please! All this blue is making us blue! And red just makes our eyes red! D: Where's our white boards choice? :3 -
Quote:I mean, anything OTHER than Rise of the Phoenix would be too powerful for a controller.... Rise of the Phoenix can make anything overpowered? At all? What am I missing here?
Face it, in order to use Rise of the Phoenix, you have to actually be defeated, which goes against farmer behaviour. :3 -
Fortunatas can be very powerful, but you've basically made yours into a buffbot for a second account to follow you on, haha. Where's Psychic Wail? You can't really pass up a crashless mini-nuke PBAoE, haha.
Is there any point on two Vengeances? You won't be able to stack them. You should probably remove the Leadership power pool version. I do understand the concept of having two powers which are that powerful, but remember they require ally death, which sort of goes against your build which is meant to keep your team alive? Plus, you've spent six slots on each, which is pretty expensive for a power which works on ally death. :3
Also, two versions of Tactics? I'd understand Assault, as each is 15%, but two versions of Tactics?
For a team build, you might want to take Psionic Tornado. Although it's slow to launch, it does the much-loved Knockup, which can help your team whenever.
With how some of your slotted toggles are (like the leadership and tactical training ones, with basically half a SO in or less), they might be a bit too much end drain on you, but without knowing your play style, I can't really say. -
Blaster
* Fire Mastery - Melt Armor (same as Tanker version)
Controller
* Fire Mastery - Rise of the Phoenix (hah, like they'd give anything to make controllers even more overpowered)
* Psionic Mastery - Psionic Lance (everything else would probably be overpowered)
Defender
* Dark Mastery - Shadow Meld (haha, it's a possibility!)
* Power Mastery - Boost Range
Scrapper
* Body Mastery - Pinpoint Weakness (clone of Blaster's Surveillance with appropriately changed graphics)
* Darkness Mastery - Dark Obliteration
Tank
* Energy Mastery - Pinpoint Weakness (as Scrapper version) -
That's pretty much what I do, haha. I generally don't spec my brutes to solo AVs, so a super efficient DPS chain isn't really needed for me. I just hit any single target attacks, with AoEs and 'super hitters' (such as Knockout Blow) when required.
My stone/WP brute is having fun cycling two mallets with air superiority and seismic smash regardless of general order.
-
Probably intended since Carrion Creepers will attempt to attack anything within range, and since it's not targetable (the pets it summons are, but the entity itself isn't), aggro passes to you?
-
So Ultimo Girl has a grudge against Trolls?
She'd might like to try out my arc then.Just pop the review here, I don't mind.

Recommended for 38+, though mission will autosidekick to 50 if required.
It's sort of save the world near the end, but on a lesser scale.
Note: I'm a UK player, so naturally, it's UK spelling. :3
