Quote:You know, I've never really thought of the wonky map idea, that's good.Ah, you did that so well then except for a knowing wink that let us know you were in on the joke.
I can't of course make the choice for you, but some comment like "I think by the time you get there I'll have been captured again... that always seems to happen, not sure how..." would go a long way to make that work. You might also look into amping up the ridiculousness of map choices ("Arachnos has a base inside the Mercy Sewer works - who knew?!"). Really, knowing that was you ultimate aim, there's a lot of ways this could be built up, I think.
And it's funny that you mention adding a capture joke, because I just did just that.
Will have it updated after a test run with a weaker character - a Broadsword/Fire Scrapper with only SO's.

Thanks! I guess I do need to work on making this a bit more soloable, but I was testing it on my Bane spider, which is only a few steps from being able to solo a full AV.
I envisioned the story to be more a satire of the bare bones "run and gun" missions where nothing is explained, but I guess I in turn made mine the same way, which I apologize for. And yes, you're right in that all of the characters are references in and of themselves, but of my own work, which I haven't really advertised yet. I guess I'll have to work on making the stories a little more acceptable in the City of Heroes world.
Time to get to work! -
Reaper mask, blast goggles up (resistance goggles counts too), resistance gloves, baggy pants. What? Regular pants look too much like skinny jeans on male characters to me.
-
Can I get any feedback at all? I'd like to make these the best they can be.
-
Nope, my characters use patrol xp as normal. And plus if double xp was still on, it wouldn't take me so long to find a team.
-
Farmers are gonna farm...
In all seriousness, I may be in the minority, but I love running Keyes! And that was before I respec'd my Bane Spider into Aid Self.
I will admit, the first few runs were tough, and I despised Keyes, but I realized, this is what it boils down to. You have to be able to accept death. A lot of BAF Babies don't like that.
And I'm not dissing BAF at all either, I'm dissing the people that only run that ever. I haven't had a chance to run Underground yet, but from what I hear, it's long. Really long. But with level shifted enemies, it sounds like a challenge. -
Yes, coming from the crowd that had to Sprint everywhere until level 14, I understand the value of travel experience. Puts hair on your chest.
But now I have too much hair on my chest, considering I've ALWAYS had a bad case of altitis (in my 5 years total playing, it took me 3 years to find a character that I was comfortable leveling to 50), so I can be a little impatient when it comes to getting places.
BUT, that's no excuse for complaining about travelling zone-to-zone when we have all of these resources available to us... Mission Teleporters (which I don't have), Oro portals, Base telepads, Pocket D teleports, Travel powers (at level 6 even if you've played long enough), and even temporary travel powers that you can buy in booster packs, which can make even regular travel powers obsolete now that Fitness is inherent.
I like to blame it on AE and the mission pads being 5 feet away from the entrance, but that's just the crazy old conspiracy theorist in me talking. -
I gave up trying to be creative with names. My main? Literally just what he is and then J at the end to signify its me. I've been getting better, you should see my new character lineup.
Leetdeth, Ragedeth, Beestdeth, Spacedeth, Dethdeth...
I mean, the possibilities are endless!
Oh and did i mention they all look mostly the same? -
Possible? Yes.
Worth it? NO. NO NO NO, AND FOR THE LOVE OF PANCAKE NOOOOOO.
That will be all. -
Insert about a 10 minute pause here...
And then....
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH
In other words, BIG congrats -
Well I was hoping to get a lot of my characters to at least their 30s, but I ended up spending a lot of time on beta and getting my broadsword/fire scrapper to 50.
-
I do happen to have at least 3 characters I'm gonna be rerolling:
Not Wolfen Frost - Considering he was my first 50, I hate to see him sitting on my character list as a Martial Arts/Regeneration Scrapper I don't play. I don't have anything against Martial Arts -or- Regeneration, but Not Wolfen Frost was never meant to be a Martial Arts master or something with Regeneration, just a tough beast man with a healing factor. I'm still deciding between Scrapper or Brute though.
DJ Pokemon - This is my low level Kinetic/Electric Defender that I've had to roll twice now. Thankfully, there's this nifty little new powerset called Beam Rifle coming out.I always envisioned DJ Pokemon as more of a "techy" type character, so I will be having fun with Beam Rifle. Tacking on Time Manipulation for added flavor and changing him into a Corrupter.
Blood Sister Leader - My first level 50 Mastermind. Being Thugs/Traps, she's not all that bad at iTrials, that's for sure, but I can't get the feel for Masterminds anymore, sadly.Instead, I'm gonna retcon her into a Super Strength/Regeneration Brute (with a multibillion inf build to boot) with a different name that I haven't come up with yet.
Considering how I feel about Titan Weapons, I might reroll another one too.. -
Yeah, art updates are unneccessary when the camera is positioned so close to the action.
-
I always thought of it as a Tiger Knee.
-
I need a new change of pants after seeing these.
-
I usually have TFs and iTrials like these when I'm hyped up on caffeine and being overconfident on my Bane Spider. The above combination also ends up with a LOT of words forced into the team chat window mostly by me.

Quote:YES. While I HIGHLY welcome this change, it's gonna destroy the system just from general consensus. After i21, there will be more Keyes runs. They're changing it so that you can't get a Very Rare drop from BAF or Lambda and the chance of a Rare from them will be reduced too, so you'll have to run Keyes and Underground to get any Very Rares and Rares at a fair rate. The idea is that since they all give the same salvage, players will run BAF and Lambda to get their commons and uncommons, then upgrade to the tougher Keyes and Underground to get their rares. From an interview in GamePro.

For the longest time, I heard rumors that collecting those crates in the missions makes the trial tougher... Was that ever debunked?
If it isn't true, it should be. -
Can't do that. The oldest character I have right now currently is only 5 years old. I've been playing for longer than that.
-
I highly doubt Rularuu is the "coming storm" since there's already been a Rularuu invasion. Two, to be exact. One was in the lore, and one was in game. I don't see much Rularuu walking around.
Most of the signs are pointing to the Shivan being part of the Coming Storm. -
Mercy Island is fine the way it is. It's meant to be slums. At least, the first part is until you get to Mercy. There's a reason Mercy is elevated, and that's so all the crud can't get in.
I DO agree that other places need a solid revamp visually. St. Martial should be just a tad bit more glittery. There is a multibillion dollar casino there, after all.
They are getting dulling down the population of the Snakes though, thank god. -
Antimatter:...And you'll never be able to get all of the power cores and shut down my reactors in quick succession, THEN fight me at the truck depot while dodging an orbital ray and screaming when you get disintegrated! It'll never work! I'm a genious!
In all seriousness, I'm sure the godvoice that follows you around during the iTrials would be able to explain what is happening. In fact, it DOES. AT EVERY REACTOR. Learn to read. It's not a hard trial. -
Caltrops is the first power in the secondary? Sweet! No need to pick Devices ever again!
Edit: Oh, and the thrown weapons set looks like fun, but the stun power needs to be moved up. Secondary definitely needs some work. -
