Story Arcs

There are green and blue bookmarks and outlining on the books to differentiate between major story arcs and minor ones. Blue for major that count for the limit, green for minor that you can have any number of, but I find it very hard to see the difference unless I press my nose against the monitor, so I'd really like to know who thought that was a good idea...

... and Heroes don't have to put up with this [censored].

Unfortunately they/we do. The dingaling (tm?) is sometimes present in police stations (and for some reason also outside safeguard missions)

Ugh, my HEAD..!

I'm with Col on this, that part of the sound is bordering on painful for me. I generally end up turning off the sound for the first few minutes on my villains as many of you have suggested. But I really think that this sound should be changed, I'm sure there are plenty of alarm sounds that are just as annoying, without being downright painful.

We got the sonic gfx change, this is not that dissimilar (but perhaps affects fewer players)
4. I started a character as kind of an inverse to the no badges hero. My goal for him was to level only by doing directly badge-related activities (and not generic stuff like get inf for defeating anything for inf badges). It wasn't really all that fun, running around city zones looking for those few particular mobs I needed. I got him up to level 19 by street hunting, before the patrol XP hit and having that went against the concept of that character. Constantly turning XP gain on and off would frankly be quite tedious, and probably lead to some mistakes, so that's not really an option. But who knows, I still got the character and one day I might be bored enough to make it work

The ultimate goal was of course to get to level 50, but I don't really think that would have been possible unless I had relaxed the rules a little.
5. Actually, SS is better for getting badges, the invisibility you get together with Steamy Mist is helpful. Also, I don't think there are any exploration badges that are unreachable with SS (maybe Ace, don't recall if it's still up on that statue in RWZ)

But concept is still the decider in most cases, so fly away
6. The "standard" all controller superteam is fire/rad. Stacked Choking Hold means everything is held after 1-2 seconds and Hot Feet burns everything down. Team teleport to get into melee range asap.

Never been in one myself but I'd imagine that you'd have a hard time even getting rad toggles up before things are dead, especially after Imps

Chat fragments?

I've also seen it happening on the help channel, so it's not just related to tells

Oh, and try to avoid being the one who has to go to Faultline. It's a pain.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's not true any longer, Vahzilok are now fairly common during the day in Faultline

Shields

I think One with the Shield is the same as Willpower tier 9, as in not being affected by recharge buffs. I read it in one of the threads on shields (could've been on US forums)
10.
This is explained in the ingame story, but I cannot recall exactly when or by whom. But essentially the Lost are ordinary humans being changed into Rikti, so as the story progresses they become more and more Rikti-like until finally becoming Rikti
11. Because most (all?) special NPCs have a unique costume piece
12. ...which really is the same as power customization

Minus Recharge

You're talking about different things. What the_rent is describing is recharge debuff/slows, which is usually written as +x% (as it increases recharge times), whereas the others are describing recharge buffs. This is capped at 300%, or 1/4 the normal recharge time
14. You don't require the inherent boost to function well as a kheldian on a team, nor do you absolutely have to stay in forms. So I don't see why an all-Kheld team should fail? 3-4 Nova forms would take out all lieut/minions in seconds, then add one Dwarfs for keeping the bosses occupied. Bring a few human form PBs for major boss smacking / occasional healing and you'll storm through any mission/TF.

edit: Having everyone in human form all the time would possibly add some difficulty to AV battles, but anything else would not be much of a problem
15. As Knightly said, not a big deal. But why slot them with lvl 30s just because they have only four slots? The sets that go up to lvl 40/50 still have nice tier 3/4 bonuses (Ok, lvl 30 Triage could be considered better than lvl 30 Doctored Wounds unless you slot 5). In general, I would only slot lower sets if I want to exemplar much or am low on inf, but you are in no way gimped if you do slot it anyway
16. To elaborate, yes, the -DEF will stack, but the knockdown is the major point for EQ, it completely neuters alpha strikes (at least thats true for Ice Slick, haveing never played an Earth/ troller)
17. Press back, reload and Continue. At least this works in Firefox, if IE removes your post, well, try this

OT: Not everything is great with FF tho, the English spellchecker complained about the word 'Firefox'
18. Most likely. To Save A Soul and, er, that other Harvey Maylor Story Arc have plenty of Carnival missions

Edit: To Save a Soul lvl 40-45, Upon the Psychic Plane lvl 45-50 story arcs
19. In a way we already have this with the whole exemplar system, Ouroboros if you're soloing

But it always struck me as rather odd to have an incentive that built up while you weren't playing the game.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's what makes it such a good incentive for the companies. You, the player, know that if you log in and play today for maybe an hour, you'll gain something extra (however artificial that bonus may be). And when you've used up your bonus, you might even log out so as not to "waste time" leveling slower.

It doesn't make people play more, but it makes them play longer, adding more subscription time. It's really quite elegant, imo
21. It also happens if you crash out of the game, presumably the number isn't correctly set unless you log out correctly.

It used to be that you always got that number when this feature was first introduced on any toon you logged out (ie you would never see 0 days/today as last logged in).

The regeneration set has the same issue. Somewhat worse, in fact, since it has less +DEF and +RES to help reduce all that Alpha damage.

[/ QUOTE ]Uh. This is pretty much exactly what MoG is for.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but it's not up every fight and you still have to get to lvl 38 to get it
23. Thought a little around GMs and came up with this:

Kraken: Have him spawn a number of Kraken Hatchlings (those mini-versions from Sewer Trial) when damaged enough. Make it a random number 75-25% hp so you can't say exactly when it'll happen.

Kronos: Spawns with a number of Hercules Titans. These can merge with Kronos when it is damaged, restoring some health (Same theme as Hercs->Zeus).

Jurassik: Occasionally throws his Car-on-a-stick at a random hero, dealing massive damage. He then fights with reduced damage for a while, before getting a new Car-on-a-stick. Yes, this may oneshot some team members. Kill him quickly before he does it too many times.

Babbage: Turns into a modest number of clocks upon defeat. These are minion/lieutenant class, not Gears.

Adamastor: Give him a Zombie Bite, temporarily turning the affected hero into a zombie. Essentially a strong confuse power.

Lusca: Have her grab crates and equipment from the docks, tossing at heroes. Or crush a ship, causing an oil spill which may ignite when exposed to fire/energy damage, burning players. Have her ink do -fly, so players just don't group fly above the oil spill
