Point of clarity, not contesting your experience. Simply stating that there is something at play that strongly indicates that for some, at least, the rare alpha slot is causing kerboomage.
I've been wrong before. Their is an official announcement I just read saying stay away from upper tier alpha boosts, for now. So who knows. I still think it'd be a damn weird bug if this was what was causing the map serves

I ran the STF Today and crafted Musculature: Total Core Revamp. I crafted it and slotted it after I exited The STF. then I ran a couple missions with it.

No problems what so ever. No crashes, didn't loose anything.

I really don't think that the alpha boosts are causing the crashes. I think everyone is getting alpha boosts since it's the first day, and crashes are happening a lot for un-related reasons, and it's unfortunate that some people are losing their rewards.

All that is set in the distant, distant future and while it's a cool mission and part of the story, I wouldn't read into that as set in stone for things to come.

Your "Boosts" in that are Radial "Freem" and a couple other boosts that don't exist on the incarnate menu.

So the fact that the AV reflections con Yellow, in that, I wouldn't say that means anything.
  6. Maybe it was already said but I only skimmed the thread

So a to make a rare you need -

    1- Uncommon Boost

    2 -Common Components

1 - Favor of the Well (Only available from WSTs.)

To make a Very Rare you need

    2 - Rares

    1 - Uncommon Component

    1 - Common Component

1 - Favor of the well.

Seems like it'll be 3 weeks before you can get a very rare, due to the "time limits" in place, only allowing one favor of the well per week...

Wow that Alpha Slot is grindy. I can't wait until the other Incarnate stuff comes online and we get new challenges instead of just grinding this stuff to death.

Still looking forward to it and being able to break components down into shards again is nice.

I've never been to Seattle, but that seems far fetched. Never been to Milwaukee, but I'm pretty certain it doesn't look like Steel Canyon...

I think it was a problem but less noticable before. For one thing not everyone had fitness. For another, a lot of people like me, took either Swift or Hurdle, to get access to health and stamina, I think not that many people took both. It's only now that everyone has both of them that the issues in their relative speed are really obvious.

    And they are.

  10. Funny Story. I don't read comics too regularly, I love them but it's never been something I had the time and money, or space to devote to.

Still I pick up Gi Joe Comics fairly regularly, it's the one I will read. Back when Devil's Due were doing the Gi Joe run, (It might have been Image before Devil's Due split off actually.) There was issue #20, "The Silent Issue". No dialog but it was one epic battle between Snake Eyes an Storm Shadow. All of the comic stores in my area sold out of it and I just had a hole between I19 and I21 in my comics for about 2 years. Then I moved to Southern Oregon and found the issue in this cool little comic shop that had a back room with thousands of old comics. (Original 1982 Gi Joe comics etc.)

Less than a week after I got the issue for myself my friend gave it to me as a birthday gift, he knew I was missing it and tracked a copy down for me. So for 2 years I wanted it couldn't find it and then less than a week after I found it I got a second copy. I still have both copies, some where.
  11. I think he needs blue eyes. I can't tell what his eyes are, they look gray. But Superman needs Blue eyes. (IMHO)

Thank you! Couldn't have said it better myself. I really liked Routh as Superman and I thought he did a really great job with what he was given, which was mediocre writing at best.

I think it's kind of a shame he won't be coming back as Superman since I'd love to see what he would do with a decent script and writing.

I liked him in Chuck, even his small role in Zack and Miri was good.
  12. Pocket D goes to KR, Faultline, Founders, Talos.

Midnighters Club goes to Croatoa, Steel, Founders.

RWZ goes to Peregrine Island, Founders, Atlas Park.

And now Trains go from any non hazard zone (Except PI) to any other Non hazard zone.

You can now use the cargo ship from TI to IP.

There are plenty of ways to get around without O-Portal, (Since all those places except PI are connected by train now.) Or without base portals, which really only help you with Hazard zones.
  13. I liked Samurai Jack. The art could have been better.

The art on the other shows wasn't fun to watch for me. Still I hate that it seems like everything is Anime ish or powerpuff girls ish.
  14. I wouldn't get your hopes up about animated hair or the guns being drawn from holsters. Both of those are specific to signature characters and the rules for Signature characters and their costumes are much different than the rules for player characters.

In the level 41-50 range, there are three particularly apparent enemy groups that seem to form a shout out:

Rikti: a race of psychic aliens who enjoy a telepathic network and use pylons to power their nearby equipment

Devouring Earth: a group of creatures that are created by the mutagenic properties of a sentient microorganism and which alters the very terrain of the world around it as it spreads.

Malta: a group of highly skilled humans with high technology gizmos and giant robots.

    Soooo....

    Protoss, Zerg and Terran?
Interesting thought. I never thought of it before but I could see it sort of fits. Though to be honest I think it's a little bit of a stretch.

The fact is, these are archetypes that are fairly common.

The technologically advanced race with technology far beyond our own.

The biologically advanced race that's not as much about technology but can breed like crazy and are very predatory, dangerous, attacks in swarms.

And then humans, one form or another in different stages of development.

Protoss, Zerg and Terrans could just as easily be Predators, Aliens and Humans in AvP.

Or Borg, Dominion and Humans in Star Trek.

It's not completely uncommon and my guess is that it's sheer coincidence. Things like Rikti, DE and Malta exist in comic books, which this came is inspired by, and it's likely the Devs just wanted to fill the niche that those groups fill.

Also, when looking at it more closely, the Rikti and DE don't match up very closely to Protoss and Zerg. Malta matches up to terrans only because it's humans and based off us.
  16. Ohh shockwave in the new TF! I'm excited! Him and perhaps Unicron too? Seems like the scope is getting big for this one, I'm looking forward to it.
  17. I like McG, but I'm not sure I like their idea of re inventing wonder woman. Business Woman\Vigilante juggling the elements of her life? Doesn't sound like Wonder Woman to me. History has shown when you do something like this and take the source material and change it too drastically or ignore it's origins, it doesn't do well.

Anyway I'll watch the show, I'd be interested in it and maybe as the develop it things will come together more. Time will tell I suppose but I'm glad DC\WB is at least trying to make something of the property, outside the comic books of course.

I think it's less putting them into the same boat as Uwe Boll, and more, it's the worst boat they have and so they are stuck with Uwe Boll until the razzies come up with a special short yellow boat just for Uwe Boll.
  20. Is anyone else bothered by how "anime" inspired all the cartoons are these days?

I really miss older style animation and seems any time I see a new remake of those old 80s cartoons there redone in some anime-ish fashion and I just don't like it as much.

I prefer the older style animation, though Lion-O did look like a clown.
  21. Issue 19.5 isn't bringing new content, just the rare and very rare alpha boosts, and in theory these have been tested.

All they are doing is adding certain rewards for running selected TFs. These aren't huge changes to the game that would require extensive testing, it's more or less "Are the rewards rewarding properly?" Yes... "are the new boosts performing properly." Yes... Testing complete.

Though honestly my money is next tuesday, after double xp weekend we will have the strike pack.

I'd watch TLA over any of the SyFy "what the hell is this movie...are they intentionally trying to be a off shoot of a crappy B movie from the 60's"

And I really don't think the casting was bad at all, and I think the only reason they're giving the Worst Ensemble Nomination to TLA, is because people still think A:TLA has actual earth races, which it didn't, seeing as how it wasn't on earth

We all remember those little rants right?
Here's the thing. I have never watched more than about 5 minutes of the cartoon, I went into the Last Airbender Movie because the previews made it look pretty epic. I knew next to nothing of the source material.

And that movie was crap. It was just garbage. The writing, the pacing, the acting, just every part of it was garbage. If it's better than Syfy movies, it's not much better. It deserves several razzies.

However I'm amazed that Clash of the Titans isn't getting more razzies. It was way worse than either of the Twilight movies, those movies were almost passable in some respects but Clash of the Titans was horrible writing, horrible directing, horrible script and dialog and half the time I felt like the actors weren't even trying.

It had decent special effects, for what ever that counts for with a horrible plot and badly executed action sequences, the mythological creatures were somewhat believable.

I think it deserved all the razzies.

Please show me where I called him a racist...

I didn't. I don't think he is a racist I'm well aware that his wife is black, it'd be really hard to argue him as a racist. I did say it was a dumb thing to say and it was. It'd be like me going on twitter and commenting about censorship in a popular latin-american novel by saying "I'd rather be called a "racial slur" than an "more offensive racial slur."

I'm white, I've never been called latin american racial slurs and if I did it'd have no affect on me, so going around saying something like that would be dumb.

It's not that Ebert's message was nuanced and people over reacted, it's that it was a dumb statement to make for a wealthy white guy. He has never been seriously called an "-n-word" nor a slave, and he would never be called those things. His statement was dumb, no one asked him and if he really just had to comment on censor ship in a book because he feels the narcissistic need to tell the world what he, a professional film critic, thinks about everything else, he could have chosen a less completely moronic way of saying it.

Good episode over all. I'm still back and forth on whether Misses Bartowski is spying on Volkoff, or actually working for him and trying to convince Sara that she's a spy while twisting Sara and manipulating her to Volkoff's whims..
  25. What Quasadu said. Plus Video games are becoming more and more mainstream, closer to what movies are, reaching larger, wider audiences where comic books have always been a sort of niche entertainment form, so the rating system there can sort of fall by the wayside since there isn't a ton of heavy media attention on comics themselves these days.

Where as movies and video games are often talked about for their content, impact on kids etc and so those ratings systems are seemed as much more important or necessary.
