  1. I've been loving the producer's letters, but this one was really cryptic and didn't say much.

I can rewrite this pretty quickly and say about the same thing.

"Hey guys. We like to update old content sometimes in addition to make new content. Remember I17 and the new Posi task force? Remember I8 and faultline revamp? Those were good times, right?

Yup, new zone is still coming... Can't say more now, later!"

    And that's about it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure some neat stuff is coming, but I was sure of that before the letter too...

Not trying to hate or be mean here, just really thinking that Dev letter said very little.
  2. looks good in the screen shots, I prefer that costume to the other one I've seen. Still doesn't look right as the costume goes, but better than the one with the weird boots and blue tights.
  3. Id say trigger after a completion of Tin Mage or Apex as well. Makes sense. Either in retaliation for beating up on Battle Maiden, or invading Nuetropolis.

Tieing them to BAF or Lambda... They'd be going on constantly. Even if tied to having 2 done in a certain amount of time, they'd be going off constantly.
  4. That sounds ironically horrible.

Watched "You win or you die." Good episode, but not great. Feeling bad for Ned right about now, the man doesn't understand how reality works, too into his own honor.
  5. Just got access to HBO and I started this show since the ads looked interesting. Never read the books. In fact I've not watched that much HBO before, so when I first was watching this, I was surprised at the blatant nudity, sexual content and blood, guts etc,. took me a moment to sort of remind myself, "yup, it's an HBO show alright."

That said I'm hooked. I started watching yesterday and I have caught up through all of the first 6-7 episodes so far. Solid acting, good writing, great story so far, just loving it. Can't wait for more.

Hehe, just watched the end of the episode "golden crown"... All I can say about the golden crown... "Totally metal."
  6. Alright, this is awesome.

After the post I saw, I'm glad outside of Kermit, I'm not seeing muppet legs in the movie.

Also, I'm not usually big fan of Twitter references, or Twitter, but the thing at the end that said "It's time to tweet the muppets" made me chuckle, that's pretty clever.

Ahh the muppets. Puts a smile on my face every time, and I need to buy the DVDs of the muppet show. Those are on DVD right?

  8. Well having gotten my 7th and last incarnate to the place where I want him today, I won't be running it for rewards any time soon , unless I do another round of incarnates eventually.

    Reasons to run it:

    Something different than existing trials.

Extra E-merit a day, meaning you can get those rewards much faster.

Unlocks all of the existing incarnate slots, so no having to worry about it not being the one you need.

Change of scenery, better challenge, more variety etc.

So yeah, sounds like fun to me, I'll run it with my main a few times certainly.

I don't know of any batman movies from the 90s. I only know of the one in 1989 with Keaton as Batman and Nicholson as The Joker.

I am pretty sure there weren't any Batman movies made in the mid 90s. I don't know who Val Kilmer or George Clooney are?

Ohh wait, now I remember. I think you must be confused though. There were a couple movies with Kilmer and Clooney in dark costumes with capes, but those were most assuredly NOT Batman. Not one bit.

So this thing must be Nolan! Bring on the Bane!
  10. Yeah from what I've been hearing, Sony had very poor protection on PSN and SOE servers. Maybe some of these hackers could get past even high end security, but at least then Sony could say there was really nothing they can do.

Anonymous has been denying involvement as well, so who knows.

Spiderman on Broadway is a fiasco because they are trying to bring theatrical and comic book style web slinging and fight choreography to a broadway stage and broadway stages aren't set up for people to swing around like tarzan for 3 hours. It's too ambitious for it's own good.

This looks genius though. I can't wait. I thought Nolan said he wouldn't be using Robin though? And where is Tom Hardy as bane? I didn't see him in the clip...

    The Event Finale

So I'm not sure if anyone here was watching "The Event" , but I just watched the season (series) finale and I gotta say, I really liked it.

I think it's a huge shame that NBC didn't give the show the proper support, time to find an audience, a regular running schedule (3 month break in the middle of the season of a mystery\thriller, what did they think would happen?) Anyway, it seemed like there were some cool ideas there in the last couple episodes that won't be expanded upon, which is a shame. But I enjoyed it thoroughly.
  13. Sometimes I feel bad for the Devs. And not just because some people pick on them or have ridiculously high expectations that will never be met. But also because they obviously have a lot of knowledge about what is in store for this game and they can't talk about it with us, or publicly at all really. At at least 3 meet n greets or hero cons I've talked to Devs about upcoming stuff I'd love to see in the game, only to see it announced months later, obviously it was being worked on when I was talking to them about it. Were it me, It'd kill me to keep secrets like that, and I imagine I would hate speaking in generalities and vaguely about everything all the time.

So my question to the Devs: Do you guys just jump on every chance to speak in absolutes when you can when it doesn't relate to the game?

It seems like a silly question, maybe it is, but were I always holding stuff back, any time I had the chance to give information that wasn't secret, or I could speak definitively about something, I'd jump on it.

When's Issue 92 coming out? --- Some time in the future...

When are you going to the water slides. Tuesday, 11 AM to 2:34 PM then I'm grabbing a chili dog and 15 chili fries and a 18 oz soda with an additional 10 ozs of ice!

Kermit could be toad, but his role of leader would be more like cyclops.

    Rolf could be sabre tooth.

    Beaker could be Professor X,

    Who would be magneto?

    Swedish chef as Ice man?
  15. Animal is the natural choice for wolverine, but Beeker as cyclops? Not sure about that. What about Kermit, or Fozzy for Cyclops? Gonzo makes a natural night crawler....

    So Firefly...

So a few years back I went and saw the movie "Serenity" Not realizing it was based on a TV show. I figured it would be a cool sci fi flick. I saw it with a couple buddies and happened to run into a couple other acquaintances there who were big fans of the show. After the flick I heard about the show, how it was messed up by Fox etc.

Over the last few years I've been hearing on forums, on the internet, from various friends and classmates about this show and how great it was, how Fox messed it all up etc. I was impressed by the movie but not knowing anything about the show since I didn't hear about it until the movie, I never really knew what all the fuss was about.

Recently I saw it advertised over on Hulu and have been waiting for them to cycle through the series back to the first episode. The first episode came available the other day, I watched it, I watched it again.

I totally get it now. This show is really cool, only seen the one episode but well written, original, has a fun spirit to it and I'm very curious to see more.
  18. So at some point, it becomes clear with these franchise type movies that the writer, director, execs, creative forces that be, care nothing for the existing franchise and merely want to use it's name, and some very basic core concepts to try to cash in on a money making franchise.

See: The Street Fighter Movie... (Almost none of that movie had anything to do with the game, other than names and fighting.)

Or GI Joe Movie. (Snake eyes was a ninja, Scarlett Had red hair, General Hawk was in charge, and the rest they made up as they went along.)

And there are many others involved.

In the case of X-Men, Bryan Singer left X-Men after the second movie. So I think the third movie is when the writers really decided to forget the comics and do as they damn well pleased. I'm fairly certain anything in the 3rd movie or the Wolverine movie that resembled the comics, was a case of the writers having writers block so they shoe horned something in from the comic to get past it then made up some more of their own crap.

The First Class: It looks interesting to me, but since we saw Dr. Mccoy in X-2 without blur fur and all that, then with it in X-3, it seems weird that he's going to have it in this movie, since their own timeline indicates he didn't have that change until later on.

I'm guessing this is a reboot, not a prequel. And I heard a while back that Fox has to crank out an X-men movie every so often, or they lose the rights to make X-men movies and they go back to Marvel, and Fox has decided that cranking out crap movies based incredibly loosely on the property is better than letting Marvel do good movies.

The unfortunate part is, we've seen that if you take a successful property, you treat it with some respect, try to get all the piece of the property that made it successful in the first place, translate them to the Big screen accurately, you can end up with some big hits . Batman Begins, Batman The Dark Knight, and Iron Man 1 and 2, these movies got most of the core concepts and characters right, even if the stories were a little different, they felt like solid translations from comics to big screen and they made a **** ton more money than either X-3 or Wolverine did, or Gi Joe or Street Fighter....

Successful properties are successful for a reason and hollywood could make a lot more money on big screen adaptations if they'd actually work on representing these things faithfully. It's not about re-writing the material, it's about getting good material to a larger audience.

Time is a dimension, and all these movies exist in time and tell the story over time.

Now 5D is where stuff get's really interesting... Got your inter dimensional glasses and compatible TV\monitor yet?
  20. They got the Nazi guy from Indian Jones and the Last Crusade, playing... A Nazi! Epic!
  21. Put her back in the shorts with stars and red boots, and lose the rubber\plastic\cheap holloween costume feel.
  22. Outside of the Comedies, Chuck is pretty much all I care about on NBC. I've tried Harry's Law, and frankly I thought it was a little trite and predictable. Which isn't to say it won't get better, as I like Kathy Bates.

That said, I don't know what NBC is thinking. Why move Chuck, for 4 seasons it's been on at the same time, now why mess with it? Bad enough Monday nights have been revolving door of other shows around Chuck, Heroes, the Cape, The Event, that Christian Slater show, Harry's Law, etc.

It can't help a show to have the line up around it constantly being shuffled, now the movie to Friday nights.....

I was hoping for more than 13 episodes next season, but we shall see I guess.
  23. Didn't DC just reset everything back to issue 1 in 05 or 06? It wasn't that long ago that I was picking up a new GL +1 and WW#1...

I don't know, on the one hand, I get it. It's hard to get new people coming into it when they pick up book #600 or 750 and have no idea about all the history established over decades... It's hard to get into the story...

On the other hand, constantly rebooting is just as confusing for their long time fans, or casual comic readers (like myself) who go in and start scratching their head when it turns out in the 6 months since I last stepped into a comic book shop, everything changed massively 4 times and all the characters are different.

I think DC and Marvel need to keep their long running lines going and still find ways to get people into new stories, without having to go hunt down the best Batman TPBs or whatever. Not sure how to do it, I'm not a comic book genius by anymeans. But the occasional side story, or retelling of older stories more modernized, or some sort of clear... Original story path... - new updated Story path for newbs... Would be nice..

Maybe call it DC Original Universe.... DC Modern Universe... Or DC 1, DC 2, Instead of Earth 29587212 and Earth 3, and Ultimate 1920s Earth 7865....

You know, something simple and easy to understand...
  24. I'm gonna start off topic and wander back to it.

So Megan Fox got kicked out of TF3 for being dumb enough to publicly insult the director that made her famous in the first place?

Sounds about right... From the handful of interviews I've read with her, she seems kind of like a typical, spoilt, popular high school princess who thinks too much of herself and is quick to look down on others.... My guess is that her career is going to be hurting after this. Being kicked from a movie franchise is one thing, being kicked from it because you insulted your director, isn't going to make you a lot of friends, especially when her other movies didn't seem to do well at all.

That said, I'm looking forward to TF3. I loved the first TF, I even enjoyed the second one, flawed as it was. However Bay and Labeouf have both stated that the recognize serious flaws in the second movie, part of it having to do with the writer's strike going on while the movie was being made. So it's encouraging at least to see that they know there were mistakes and want to change them.

This clip, is unimpressive. Then again it's out of context and it's all of what, 1 minute long? It tells me nothing, and im guessing at least one of those cars is a transformer.. But who knows. I will see this movie, I will hopefully like it....

Then maybe we can get a Reboot with a better franchise since it seems like Bay is going for trilogy here, (everyone does these days.) So maybe in 5 years we can get a better TF franchise with decent looking robots.
