I'd watch that as a movie. that could be entertaining as hell
-
Saw it tonight. Honestly felt like the film started one way and ended another. In the beginning they almost seemed to be going for a certain level of realism, not like super real but believable and there was a kind of weight to the violence and the idea that he and Kato were novices to the world of crime and fighting crime.
The last half or third of the movie just seemed to get too involved in it's own action, it got cartoonish and lost the sort of weight associated with the violence in the first half of the movie.
Not a bad flick but it could have been a little more consistent, and the last half felt too long, the action sequences kind of drug on in places, longer action sequences isn't always better. -
This doesn't seem like a conspiracy theory, I think they are done with the Aliens franchise for now.
Honestly, a little more backstory into the Aliens, where they came from etc could be interesting, but who knows, I never got much into the Aliens flicks.
I have to wonder how good this new thing is going to be though, re-purposing a script from Aliens in a new direction sounds like a good way to end up with a movie with crappy plot and writing, but I suppose time will tell. -
It's an interesting take on the MK mythos to be sure.
I'm not terribly sure I like it though. The whole idea now seems to be to turn the MK thing into a Cops V Criminals to save the city thing and that's an interesting approach but it gets away from the MK story quite a bit.
Personally I like the inter-dimensional, Outworld and Edenia at war and Earth gets involved sort of stories. But Turning the Outworlders like Reptile and Baraka into homicidal maniacs instead.... It could be interesting but I just don't know.
Scorpion seems to have re-tained his back from the dead and out for Sub Zero, status, that could be cool.
Jeri Ryan could make a fun Sonya blade... -
And this mission is given out by the new contact Mavis Beacon?

Quote:ALL of them!Heh, now I'm wondering which dev is a fan of obscure European Folk Metal bands?
I'm pretty sure it's a part of the training packet when you agree to work there. Sign these NDA forms and get your Estonian Heavy Metal CD, you have 1 week to listen to it and write up a paper showing you understand the meaning behind the songs. -
Once more I agree with Sam, pretty much everything in the OP was dead on for me.
The Sewer Trial is one of the few in the game that really requires team work, requires the team to communicate, work together, plan and adapt together, hell just moving down that long column with all those Kraken and Rikti, trying to keep everyone together and not have anyone fall off or rush ahead, moving slowly further and further down, together, as a team. It is very fun and challenging. To be honest if they made it a level 50 trial with some nicer rewards I'd probably do it more often, it'd be slightly less painful and more rewarding, but it's still a good trial. -
Yeah, they seem to be hinting in that direction. Would make sense too since a lot of people have been asking for steam punk for a while now, and what with the devs talking more and more about giving us what we want...

Quote:PBs Get 1 powerset, Luminous. It's divided into a primary and secondary called Luminous Blast and Luminous Aura, but given the style, look, feel etc etc it might as well just be one big powerset especially since you don't have a choice to pick anything else.I'm not sure where the 1 powerset to their name comes from, EATs have more than one powerset to their name, they've 2 at least (Primary and Secondary), and each EAT tends to have 2 types (PB / WS, Soldier/Widow)
In fact given the multiple choices etc they're probably closer to 2 one-and-a-half powersets apiece.
So technically any implemented EAT so far is hovering around having 6 powersets worth of powers in there altogether.
I'd quite welcome more EATs, I like the fact they tend to be hybrids in terms of what they're "supposed" to do.
WS get Umbral, it's much the same thing as above, no choice, no change to look or feel etc. If you get a PB or WS you for all intents and purposes have one powerset to your name. Primary and secondary doesn't mean much when those are the only powers to can pick with the AT.
VEATs have it a little better except their choices are still limited. You essentially get a choice of 2 powersets per veat and some of the options there are pretty limited.
Now compare that to a tanker or any other AT with over half a dozen choices for primary , then over half a dozen more choices for secondary. The options are quite a bit more.
That's where the "1 powerset" thing comes from and it's a justified statement in that it can very easily be backed up and it's hard to argue, especially since as said above to play a PB or WS you have no choices for the powersets for the AT.
As for new EATs. I'd love some.
I think that to match Veat's, Heroes should get to be PPD, with a slot for their uniform that could be the PPD harsuit and powers to go with it, wrist guns etc, like the crabs got crab backpacks.
Praetoria could give you energy rifles and be the resistance or Energy gloves and be the PPD, again with uniform options available.
Villains.... They could get Nictus (Dark khelds.) Coralax, or maybe some other super natural character so they'd be on par with heroes. Essentially giving heroes the Paragon version of Arachnos soldiers, and Villains something super natural, and Praetoria can live with just the one choice of EATs, the Resistance or PPD. Heck maybe throw in clockwork as an option too, they had some nifty attacks and the costume pieces are already there. -
Alright, going from what WW said.
I appreciate / am thankful for / like the fact that / love / find enjoyment in:
- The fact that WW now stands for two of my favorite Super Heroines, before this game I liked one with those initials.
- Meet N Greets\ Hero cons: Meeting other fans\players of the game, having fun with them as well as talking to the very gracious and nice Developers who deal with fanboys like me all night and keep smiling.
- Everytime I've ever asked a noob-ish question, from my first day of the game until present day (I still have some now and again.) and I've gotten a plethora of informative, helpful answers and never got called names for not knowing something obvious.
-The amount of time the Devs spend chatting with the players here in the forums. (Do lead designers on other MMOs start threads like this?)
- The fact that the players have gotten loads of things that they have asked for, put in the game because we asked for them. And it seems animal pieces and steam punk pieces will be next on that list if all the clues are accurate.
- People who go out of the way to help each other in the game. The person you just met who holds a large chunk of inf for you to transfer and doesn't run off with it. The person that stops their soloing to team up with you to take down a difficult EB\AV\GM. The person who offers advice when you're stuck on slotting or power choices. The person who goes out of there way to TP you to Icon at the high end of steel when you're level 5 and decide you hate your costume already. The person who comes to you to drop the O-portal you asked for and would have gladly flown to them for.
- Flying and flyposes. God I wish I could fly, one of the definitive moments for me in this game was running around on my main at level 6 and seeing some one flying around AP, it was all over from there.
I think that's it for now, but if I come up with more I shall share. -
Quote:Including me.. I liked TF2, that's not to say it was perfect or didn't have faults, it had plenty, especially in regards to the dialog. However I still found it an entertaining movie and I'm still surprised at the amount of hate leveled at it..this.
TF2 didn't make so much money because people saw it, thought it sucked, and spread the word around.
Those involved admit (and I think they do this just to appease the internet nerdrage crowd) it wasn't as good as it should of been because of the writers strike, but it still brought people back for multiple showings.
As for the others.
Saw the trailers for some of the other movies since I hadn't seen them before.
Fast Five: I'm torn here, I feel like their just taking this series too far, but the last movie was fun.
World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles: The music in the trailer is freaking cool and the trailers look epic. This one should be fun. Looks kind of Like Independence Day meets District 9. Didn't hear of this before last night but I'm excited.
Cowboys and Aliens: I'd heard of this ,and was excited since it has Harrison Ford, I had no idea it was coming up soon and no idea it had Daniel Craig, bonus! The trailer looks sweet!
Adjustment Bureau: Looks like a great concept, Matt Damon is always good, Emily blunt is easy on the eyes, looks fun and suspensefull.
Source Code: Not sure about this one. Seems kind of like rewinding your movie over and over hoping for a different ending if you pause or hit fast forward at the right time. I'm not sure I get why going into this simulation of a guys last 8 minutes, would lead to being able to change things... Maybe it wasn't explained well in the preview...
And I still know nothing about X-men: First class. Is there a trailer for this yet? Or info some where? -
Quote:How on earth would people repairing their enhancements cheaply lead to a loss of supply in the market? As it is, people never have to give up their enhancements at all. This would have zero affect on the supply of items. Also, you get to the point where the repair cost of some items would be less than the price of buying the item from the market, leading to a more significant drain of supply on certain items, with no corresponding increase in supply. Thus, this would lead certain items to increase in price, until the purchase cost was roughly equivalent to the cost to repair.
All this suggestion does, is make you pay to keep using your enhancements. It's not going to make people all of a sudden use their enhancements longer or sell less often than they already do when enhancements are good forever. -
Quote:Funny I swore Captain America was coming out next year...I'm not looking forward to either of those. Trans3 might fail badly due to the bad blood Trans2 garnered.
However, there are a ton of genre movies that I *am* anticipating:
March - The Adjustment Bureau, Battle: Los Angeles (wait for DVD: Sucker Punch, Paul, Rango)
April - Source Code, Fast Five (DVD: Hanna, Hop, Rio)
May - Thor, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (DVD: Kung Fu Panda 2, Priest)
June - X-Men: First Class (DVD: Green Lantern, Super 8, Rise of the Apes)
July - Captain America, Cowboys & Aliens (DVD: Zookeeper, Harry Potter)
August - all DVD
September - Now
Cowboys and aliens sure.. Don't know what half those other movies are.
Not sure about PotC 4... Never saw 3, wanted my money\time back after seeing 2, and Bloom and Knightly aren't returning as far as I know... Seems like their just milking it too long to me... -
I don't know... I can't tell that much of a difference between that and the costume from the other films. Though I haven't seen the others in years.
I'm sort or torn between thinking they should just make a 4th installment since it's like a world record turn around from last movie to reboot...
On the other hand Spiderman 3 was so bad I don't know how you'd forge ahead from that....
Not terribly excited for this either way. Spiderman 3 left a horrible taste in my mouth -
So I was poking around over at apple.com for new trailers, and I don't know if these are knew but I hadn't seen anyone link them here yet.
Green Lantern
And
TF3
Honestly I didn't even realize TF3 was going to be out this year. I know a lot of people didn't like the second one, but given that the writers strike messed up the script and all, I'm hoping the third one is better. Though to be honest I didn't think the second one was that bad. -

Quote:QFT... And doing things.... QFTaDYou know what I'm really sick of? People doing things. It's really getting out of hand. Especially now that all of those things have happened, you'd think people would be just happy and appreciative of everything, but no. They have to do things.
Now, I know asking people to not do things is like asking people to do things, in that it just never works, but at the same time, you always have to keep trying, because if you don't keep trying then you'll never get anything done. And it's really frustrating that it's like that, for sure.
Now, OK, I'll admit, some things are good, but we can never forget that some things are also bad. It's good when people do these things that are good and good and also sometimes good, but not so good when people do these things that aren't good, or in other words, when people do the things that are bad. Certainly, it's natural that people are going to want to do the things they want to do, and it's even good when people do good things, but let's be realistic here: When is the last thing that happened?
No matter what happens, someone will always do something, and we really should be better - that is to say more good - than that. Let's not be bad people and do these things, when these things really don't serve and purpose at all and are, in fact, very detrimental to everything just as a general thing.
But if you guys still feel obligated to do these things that you do that I don't want you to do even though we all know you shouldn't do them - and we do - then you do understand that you're doing the wrong thing, do you not?
*In other news: I smoulder with generic rage. -
With the jay leno eat your heart out I was thinking I was about to see a thing of ratings showing conan's ratings higher than his....

Quote:Yeah but mostly because they've given up going after their Niche trying to appeal to the middle and there are a ton of channels for that already so their going to lose.I loved SG:1, wasn't much of a fan of SG:A, but gave SG:U a shot - I stopped watching after the second episode. I think it was the "Oh no! We're lost in space, whatever will we do?" plot that turned me away (I liked it when Voyager did it only because they continually got shafted at every turn during the first season but kept hope and didn't go the route of pirating). I think that that specific type of storyline is best left in reserve and pulled out once ever 20yrs or so as its fairly formulaic and predictable.
As for "SyFy" - it's nothing but by-the-book creature/disaster movies these days and to be honest, I don't see these sticking around for much longer either. It's obvious the network is struggling it'll end up just like any other network showing a hodgepodge of titles with no real niche. -
Haven't read the entire threat so forgive me if I'm repeating people.
But for the OP the quick response is this.
You don't need to look at lower level sets. You can use the same sets over and over in the right powers. IE Crushing impact 5 times in 5 different melee powers. But if you use other sets, make sure they don't have matching bonuses to Crushing impact or you wont get those. IE if crushing impact has a 2% damage bonus that you use 5 times, you can't get anymore 2% damage bonuses.
But yes, you'll need to repeat the same sets repeatedly, or else go to lower levels, or else go to more expensive sets. Personally I have a few sets that work really well for a particular character and I use those repeatedly. My Scrapper and my Brute both have a lot of Mako's bite. -
-
Yeah call me unhappy.
I like SGU, and from what I'm seeing it doesn't seem the show is losing money or anything. But whatever, If they wanna cut one of their original shows to show the same wrestling 10 other channels are showing, go for it Syfy, one more reason to watch your 2 good shows on hulu and otherwise ignore you entirely. -
Sorry guys, I've been sick and stuck in the house the last couple days so maybe my sense of humor is more off than usual.
I thought by saying I got 57 on a praetoria TF, which doesn't exist and if it did all praetorian content at the moment is between levels 1-20 so shards aren't possible, that it would be obvious I was kidding. I probably could have made that more obvious, said the TF in Praetoria or something, but who knows. I'm tired and sick. sorry all. -
Sorry, I meant the TF in Praetoria, not the Tin Mage or Apex.
-
I got like 57 shards on the Praetorian TF the other day. Try that
