  1. I hope the Spring Fling gets a new mission/trial involving Banished Pantheon cutting out the hearts of human sacrifices to feed them to Mot for breakfast.

The Sleeper has been asleep for a long time--he'd probably enjoy a nice breakfast in bed.
  2. Don't let Cryptic anywhere NEAR CoH2. Their game philosophy is apparently to release a buggy & incomplete product, try to trick people into paying a lot of money up-front on a Lifetime subscription scheme and abandon all support for that MMO in order to work on a new cheap, bad MMO. CoH succeeded in spite of Jack's attempts to kill it on a few occasions (taking a year or so off of releasing a content patch after CoV launched because he reassigned everybody to work on Champions Online?)

More likely scenario is Paragon Studios vets begin work on CoH2 and NCSoft uses CoH1 as a sort of training ground for their korean devs. I think that's already begun judging from how revamped Dark Astoria looks like it's the Plane of Fear or something and the how the revamped Circle of Thorns looks.
  3. Praetorian arcs need added into Ouroborous. Even if you were a Praetorian you can't go back through Ouro to re-do them, bleh. I suppose they could just say that the Menders can't go back in time in an alternate dimension so they can't meddle in Praetorian history?

But the thing that they still have never added are the Mayhems and Safeguards. It's not as much of an issue blueside besides for badgers, but a redside accolade is tied into the exploration badge in those Mayhem missions--you can see people paying millions of infamy for certain mayhems they're missing, and even so sometimes it isn't quick due to extremely anemic redside population--and the lowbies were usually too busy getting PL'd in AE to bother with mayhems. It's a hassle to make a f2p account just to PL it and send it to go get the mayhems your main needs.
  4. I hope in addition to revoking the old shortcut of just joining up with someone on the last leg of the arc they have the sense to go in and reduce the recharge time on the Lost Curing Wand to something like 3 seconds...or reduce the counter down from 20 to just 3 or 5 or something.

The 20 second recharge/20 Lost counter has always been asinine. That leg of the mission was written around the assumption every character was using Hasten, or maybe in a full team of 8 all wielding Lost curing wands or something.

Never had much of a problem with the Lady--at least, not any more problems than I get with other "helpful" allies like Fusionette. Stupid blasters. (of course, when I'm running it I tend to make sure i'm not on x8 or anything) Think the redside has it harder with that Abra Kadabra bloke that can keep healing himself back up if you can't pump out enough damage to kill him.
  5. I wish NCSoft would put in the investment dosh to make a CoH2.

Take what's good from CoH (invention system/incarnate systems in particular) and mix in some of the cool things DCUO brought around (SUPER SPEEEEEEED)
  6. Meh, APP, I'd say just make a Power Pool instead of making it an epic.

    Assault Training:
    Pistols/Dual Wield (DP)
    Suppressive Fire (DP)
    Hand/Stun? Grenade (invention craft)
    Empty Clips (DP)

get a little bit of AoE, a little bit of CC and a range attack.

Minigun sounds like a lol powerset. Why don't Arachnos Soldiers get miniguns instead of crabpacks
  7. I think the Tsoo were essentially just a mystical oriental version of The Family.

A cartel from the east newly appeared in Paragon City with their RAGE drug that was actually a healthier alternative to 'Dyne (hey, it doesn't turn you green and fill you with the urge to go live in caves in the Hollows...) and trying to muscle in on the Family's turf.

It's been YEARS since I ran the Tsoo arcs, I can't remember if they were also the ones responsible for the Freakshow's Excelsior supply or if the Freaks manufacture it themselves/get it from Crey Corp
  8. I really hope this isn't just a Death of Superman type fiasco where Statesman dies but then he splits up into the 5 Stateclones (one of whom is Back Alley Brawler, now cosplaying as Statesman and becoming the STF contact in IP) until he gets magic'd back to life.

If NCSoft ever decides to invest in Positron enough to make a CoX2 that could be a good breaking point--No Statesman and no Lord Recluse (dead because of the big target painted on his helmet by the Destined One prophecy that he seeks to bring to fruition in order to conquer the world)...neither of those developer personas have anything to do with the franchise anymore.

    Revamping NPCs

Make Back Alley Brawler use Street Justice while you're at it.

SS was the closest fit of the original CoH powersets, but now that cool cat that went around beating up drug dealers in King's Row can use dirtier tactics like knee to the groin and shin breakers.

(also, some of the old factions could get fancy new powersets. I remember thinking how cool Freakshow Tankers looked using StJ during Halloween)
  10. Patrolling the streets of zones has been dead since year 1 after indoor missions became better xp (as well as being able to customize the spawn +/x). Door missions turned into radio/newspaper missions turned into AE farms.

Faultline's revamp made it a nice little story arc, though. Revamping the old hazard zones with story arcs is the best you can do for them.

Hazard Zones applying a zone-wide buff that gives a nice bonus to exp/inf, salvage and recipe drop rates would probably be the only thing that would provide incentive to go groundpounding in the great urban jungle of Paragon City instead of smashing through doors. You could find a nice level range to exemp down to in Ouro and go a-hunting.

And Eden never served any purpose. The first time I went through the First Ward I thought that's exactly what an Eden revamp would've looked like.

Larger scale League raid spots would be good, but we really don't need another currency type for every single hazard zone, lol.

Yeah, Statesman's old meganerf to GMs sure could get repealed. Back in the early days I remember NEVER seeing Lusca up, because fighting that giant octopus was such crazy good xp/inf back before Statesman decided a Badge is enough of a reward for fighting the zone event GMs.

Still bums me out that the DA revamp will apparently lift the omnipresent fog. DA was awesome because it was such a unique little zone in the game with that Silent Hill shroud laying over it. Making the whole zone glow red because the Sleeper has Awoken seems WoW-ish.
  11. 5th Column base that you have to put the pressure on it until a few giant 5th Column Mek Men are deployed to try to protect the base. Reichsman himself could come out after the raid force destroys his giant robots. They could use the Barracuda SF version of him which I seem to remember he was a stupid 45 minute long slugfest that was so painfully boring I vowed to never run that SF again--but with multiple groups slamming him instead of 8 he should go down fast enough.

No point in making it low level. It's one of the reasons why Praetoria was so fail. Level 30+ or 35+ like RWZ and Cimerora.

The renegade Council lobbing guerrilla assaults against the rebuilt Column's base, the Sky Raiders hiring their services out for engagements and an Arbiter of Arachnos playing all sides attempting to procure an Arachnos foothold. Some rebuilding effort visible near the Hazard Gate, but the villain arcs showed how villains have been sabotaging reconstruction projects since eons ago. It would sacrifice old factions like the Trolls/Outcasts/Lost that live in the ruins and the Vahzilok that prey on them for body parts since all those factions are too low level, but if it's too low level it would just sit there unused again.
  12. Stalkers aren't quite as gimpy as they used to be since Castle was forced to improve them when VEATs were introduced, or the Bane would've done everything a stalker does but did it better because Banes also brought additional benefits to a team...

But, the AT still isn't very good. AS receiving a buff was nice, but AS just needs to become an instant cast attack or something. I don't care about how it would impact lolpvp. Nobody lolpvps in this game. That, or make AS an inherent attack and give Stalkers back the AoE attacks which were taken out of their primary sets to make room for the AS. Or the overpowered idea to tag some Stalker attacks with an untyped damage so against mega-resistant targets they can punch through better than anybody else, because assassination is their job.
  13. I think the Circle of Thorns costume overhaul is going to be even more despised than than Jack's Council/Column retcon debacle.

Those can be the 'updated' look for that magician faction you fight very early in CoV. But as the CoT, though? No way. No no no no no way. They should update the robes and maybe apply that new glowy Radiant Ascension visual technology to the CoT wizards--NOT put them in spandex. Might as well rename them the Council of Thorns and pretend the original Circle never existed.
  14. Yeah, don't think VEATs are going to get EPPs when the kheldian epic ATs never got access to them either.
  15. Your Ouro portal will suck you back to the Rogue Isles until you go full Hero. But that doesn't really matter much.
  16. Guess start stockpiling them for when the next issue opens up the missing tiers they held back until i20, or to craft the first two tiers of the AOE incarnate power.
  17. There's not really anything much they can do for Stalkers. Stalkers have always had that bad reputation due to lolpvp'ers sucking on teams (i've known guys who refused to ever group a stalker just because so many of them are the durr types who sit around Warburg or wherever being dumb and annoying when you're trying to get your warburg nukes), but more importantly because AoE becomes king and the need for a precision strike specialist is pretty much gone by mid-game. It's funny the Stalker's special ability in the Barracuda SF is being able to turn a switch and instagib the roomful of Columnists--that's pretty much the stalker's problem: tankers/broots/scrappers/blasters/even Warshades can inflict massive AoE damage without needing magic button, but not you!

Maybe people would love Stalkers more if they gave their TEAMMATES a chance/higher chance to Crit. :P.

Make Assassin's Strike or Placate an Inherent ability like Brawl (slottable) and restore the AoE that was removed from their sets. That would benefit some sets more than others (MA gets back a good moderate damage KD kick, and DM would get back...uh, a low damage endurance tap. Boo.)
  18. Geko nerfed Regen every patch.

    Just like Burn.

It took a few years for Castle to make Burn not suck anymore and MoG to not be a total trash power; I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing IH revisited. It really was "can the alpha strike kill me? If no, then this pack of enemies cannot kill me" back then. It was lulzworthy in lolpvp when Statesman made them waste dev resources on creating the Arena where /regen scrappers couldn't die...except maybe to a Rad.

If he made it toggle it would only be something like RttC or Integration strength HP regen.
  19. I remember in some early alpha version of the game those terminals would be places to take generic missions from Hero organizations, instead of loading the hero Contacts down with many, many filler missions they're junked up with.

And then they became a slack system to follow zone stats but were either broken or disabled on purpose (i don't really buy in that 'RMT'ers were using them to get names to spam!' or 'newbies would bother people they saw on them for PL!'...that's not giving the dev's ability to break stuff accidentally enough credit; they break stuff accidentally ALL THE TIME)

Since they don't exist in the Rogue Isles except for a few broken ones I dunno what they could really do with them. I'd rather they actually update the stupid useless Newsie NPCs with new information instead of put them on the Terminals...and generic missions come off your police scanner...best I could think of is make them little spots you could access Wentworth's from or something. Instead of having to hop back over to Talos from PI with a full load of salvage junk for market, maybe you could just ditch it all onto the terminal.
  20. Recluse and Statesman should both be more or less permanently disappeared if there's a CoH2, yes. Because neither of those devs even work on the game anymore. Statesman's disappearance would spur on new heroes to try to fill his vacancy, and Recluse is the essence of the bad villain game design (yay i get to be a lackey for a real global conquest supervillain instead of a being a supervillain myself!)

A future without Superman and without the monolithic 'villains r us' Arachnos organization, please. It could very, very easily be split into the technophiles under Black Scorpion, the murderous lunatics under Mako, the guerillas under Scirocco, and the 'True Arachnos' under Ghost Widow and the Arbiters. And no story arcs about how some stupid thug makes you run what's essentially a hero arc because OTHERWISE I'LL TATTLE ON YOU TO ARACHNOS....a real villain would've pounded that contact into the ground and laughed because why would Arachnos care? Nobody in power cares about the common people of the Rogue Isles--that's why they're a ruined 3rd world pit of a country for anybody who isn't rich or powerful. Seriously, must suck to get shaken down by thugs, villains and your friendly Arachnos army protectors every day.
  21. An organic katana couldn't hurt, either. Maybe an organic axe.

The martial arts pack had a sword for broadsword, katana and DB had access to both. It's sort of cheap to only have one new weapon...but I think the Valkyrie pack was like that. Of course Claws is super overlooked...as are the amazingly uncustomizable Widow blades.
  22. All the goof-ups and contradictions in Council and Column lore can now handily be explained away by a Time Traveling Requiem having done it. Rommy wasn't the one who contacted Requiem and turned him from a questionably evil Catholic priest into a unquestionably evil Nictus--that was Arakhne, because he was digging around into the Path of the Dark cult that the Vatican had records of.

CoT are weird. I think they'll just pop up now and then whenever a spelunker gets so lost in those purple caves under Paragon that they stumble down into the lost city of orenbega, and accidentally get possessed by a CoT mage's soul because they touched something they shouldn't have.

Malta...ehh. I think they're just a bunch of none-too-sneaky new world order claiming they're descendants of some great order. What kind of supranational men in black secret overlords walk around harassing civilians in broad daylight?
  23. After 6 years I doubt they have any intention of messing with player housing. They should've done personal lairs instead of SG bases but that was Jack demanding they do half-baked stuff and then ignoring it instead of ever doing anything with it (Cathedral of Pain and Items of Power that were promised in CoV are sure to go live any day now! it's only been, what, 3 years or something?)

Maybe CoH2 will have personal housing. That would be sweet. Pick a cave or a tech base or just a little apartment. Old Republic might revitalize the interest after WoW (and WoW clones) never showed any interest in doing player housing....old DAoC and then EQ2 had cool housing, too, not sure how it stacked up to SW:G's.
  24. I actually kind of agree. The badge is the only really important part of the mayhem.

I dread mayhem/safeguard after-completion confusion on teams, though. You always seem to have somebody that is intent on doing the sides and the other half of the team just wants to exit.

Plus that all too common bug where parts of the Hero's ambush end up stuck somewhere instead of entering the bank. Generally because of those stupid bugged longbow eagles and their stupid slow hovering instead of flying. It's like having Vahzilok zombies shuffle at half speed towards something, and then forget what they were doing.
  25. I'd say they're getting the office cleaned up before taking a week off to party at comic con, but then I realized that's next month rather than this one.
