Yeah, your power woes will lessen with QR at 20. Not having to have those dead-feeling levels in the teens when you're just grabbing Fitness to unlock Stamina by 20 is nice. I hate those spots in a build when it's like "welp, time to take Hurdle and Health"
-
Yeah, I hope so. Last time I ran Hess the trap didn't even seem to spring correctly. That was one of the things that made me think "Whoa, cool!" the very first time I did it. They show creativity here and there, introducing cutscenes was good--the Reichsman using Fist of BEATDOWN on the barracuda SF and loading you into a Column base jail cell? That was slick, even if the story in those 2 TFs were pretty iffy. And trying out the gadget fight was alright, I guess, just do it better and don't leave stuff so buggy with it if they do it again.
If they don't have some new map layouts i'm just going to be sad. So very sad. The Tyrant should have a palace, not a cave with a throneroom. -
Anti-Matter's (? Or were they Neuron's? I forget who had the Silver clockwork and who had the Blue ones) minions will be getting a facelift. Which is good, I think they only ever used the clock model because they didn't have time to make a new model for them. They were busy back then making the rularuu, carnies, malta and the lame possessed scientists who to this day still don't make any sense really (we're scientists and we say MAGIC ISN'T REAL!)...had a lot on their plate.
As long as they don't turn the REAL clockwork into looking like generic robot men. -
I've seen a few people who though AP and the MA building were all the content CoX had
they were probably the same people amazed by how BIG (lol, not really) CO's zones were and there were a whole FIVE of them!

Yeh. 2 of my 3 arcs are filled up with Custom Critters. One arc could be band-aided if I had Halloween/Invasion zombies instead of having to make my own zombeeeeeeehs
Figure they'll probably never see a play again since custom is getting their XP/Inf dropped despite the risk/difficulty of fighting them being greater than most official factions. Cept for the combos people abuse because they make easy farm bosses.
Guess it'll prompt me to unpublish 'em and make a Freakshow arc or something. Freaks are a fun faction since they've all got a few screws loose and people would play THOSE arcs at least since freaks are easy XP :P Or Battle Maiden minions... -
And now we're gonna have us a Tyrant half-helmet, muhaha.
I want to wear them. Costume unlock on Statesman's Pal and Usurper! -
Quote:They were probably cannibalized to create Lord Recluse's elite bane army and the Fortunata seers trying to prognosticate destiny.
There's also the fact that the current Praetorian henchpeople are out of date - the GR info we have so far mentions Tyrant's Praetorian Guard, and Mother Mayhem's Seers - but right now, Tyrant just has street thugs to guard him, and Mother Mayhem only has crazy people
Tyrant was a big ol' weenie, but I remember he would occasionally pop off this one-shot punch or footstomp or something. It's been so long since I fought him I can't remember what it was, or if it got nerfed out. Funny the Tyrant isn't actually a requirement for that accolade but all the other praetorian AV/EBs are. Comic book logic can say he's weak in that scenario because he's too close to Statesman, and they're both Incarnates drinking from the same divine font meaning they can't hurt each other and weaken each other..
I doubt they'd make the accolade harder to get, anyway. Blueside gets favored with easy accolades, redsiders are the ones who have to do hours and hours of AFK damage badge farming and sit in Siren's Call picking your nose for 5 hours and do Recluse's freakin SF for a badge component for the Atlas Medallion...
I can't remember if Requiem appeared in any maps before the Council took over the Column or not. Remember he used to snag Warwolves from a dimension whose people were werewolves or something before they were retconned into being shadow fragment experiments, maybe he was in that arc I vaguely remember. -
Meh, Resurgence isn't so hot. You get the rage crash, and WP is toggle defenses. You're going to have time getting eaten by clicking stuff back on. Regen is only, what, click back on Integration and you're good to roll again? I tried resurg, got rid of it for better powers. Best to just NOT die, which my WP is pretty good at doing.
Rise of the Phoenix is my favorite self revive. Lord knows my Wet Paper Sack Aura scrapper used it enough, what with fire armor being a wet paper sack. You TOTALLY blow your corpse up and stun/KB everything with a phoenix raising up. It's awesome. I'd die *just* so I could use it. -
They'll probably have beefier versions in Praetoria. Like how the Heroes and Villains are tougher in RV. Call it...ehh, them having the homefield advantage means they're tougher.
Although invasions normally get a big "meh" (how many people go outta there way to fight Zombies, for example?) maybe they could go marauding occasionally and tie a costume or an accolade into defending Paragon/the Rogue Isles from alternate dimension invaders.
Tyrant did say there would be WAR after you rescued Statesman 5 years ago. They can be firing rockets or Giant Monster Siege androids or something. -
I think Babs said at some point he wasn't going to do swinging because it would look stupid to have a rope hanging out of midair.
I don't spoil myself with test, does the power customization thinger let you choose which /Flypose you default to? Doing the emote to change it is a hassle...you gotta be moving for it to work and redo it every time...meh. -
Yeah, maybe Tyrant has built up things that call for supers to band together and slap Praetorians silly. They could try to send an army through with a big ol' planetbuster bomb like how Earth beat the Rikti
Smash Praetorians and stop them from launching a warburg nuke through the gate.

Quote:no, that's all there is in CO I mean.
You say all there is to do at 50 is run paper missions?
I hope Praetoria has pick-upable raids like the RWZ. Hamidon...not so much, Hamidon was long and boring. But the War Zone one is fun. There's just absolutely no need for sub-50 content when you'll have access to blueside, redside, MA...I really dug revamped Faultline, but...like, no one even goes there anymore. Probably why they haven't spent effort on revamping Boomtown even though CoV has an arc where that hazard area is being reclaimed and rebuilt. -
Nah, it was a smarter move. There's no rush atm. Fix some bugs while they let that free month that comes with the purchase of a CO box run out and THEN release I16. Let them debate whether they consider CO fun enough to stay subscribed to, or drop it like a hot potato and come back home to CoX.
MA helps relieve the stress on the devs to make new stuff so I hope they're going to really be hitting that old criticism of "no 50 content" hard with Going Rogue. CO's endgame is basically farming crummy little newspaper missions hoping to get a Purple recipe drop, so it doesn't have anything better to offer....and Praetorian Earth *should* be 40-54, if not exclusively 50+.
ps: gimme Zombie Invasion zombie horde as a usable faction. I don't want my zombie arc to get xp nerfed just because there's no good zombies besides Vahz and BP..I'd grudgingly substitute them in. I sort of wanted the Nightmare zombie to fill out my custom faction's boss category anyway. -
Nobody needs purples. Not unless you're pvping, I guess, or doing something silly like trying to solo the RWZ mothership raid singlehandedly, attacking them pylons with the fury of scrapperlock.
But I'm sure having hefty permahasten is real sweet for a clicky-intensive set like Regen. Dull Pain up faster, IH up faster, Recon up faster, MoG up faster...good stuffi keep meaning to try out a regen again (haven't used that secondary since before IH got turned from toggle to click), but keep being too lazy to bother.

i want stalkers to have dual pistols, i'll letcha have ninjitsu for it! Nothing says stalker like a headshot! mwahaha

Quote:I wish I had gotten the power to call a fire truck to crash into my enemies when I finally earned that final fire chief badge.
he time invested in that firefighting, with very little XP or loot drop reward in that time, is significant- and you can easily spend that time earning XP, Reward, and OTHER BADGE content elsewhere. -
Quote:Yeah, they turned Malta spawns weird at some point when they drastically cut down on Sapper spawns.
Yeah, I've been noticing the same thing. Malta tend to be less diverse than usual these days. I've run a few missions that had nothing but Operations Engineers in it. -
Dunno, on freedumb when I was running through cap usually the pug broadcasts for A(o)E farmin' in Cap would be like "NO STALKERS NO MMs"
no aoe = no loveI dig my DM/Nin, can lay the beatdown just fine, but never exactly been swimming in group invites compared to any other AT. Seems most players still don't appreciate stalkers can tear the heads off baddies just fine ever since castle buffed them.
-
Lies. Nobody would pick to play a stalker over a scrapper. They'd proceed directly to Widow.
-
I hate Vahz bosses. They're nasty if you don't have the status protection (likely, at those early levels) and don't have a Breakfree for the ones that activate the disorienting gloom and totally begin pwning the melees surrounding them.
The Family were nerfed a long time ago, back when redside farmed the TV's map with family goons instead of the TV's map with nems. -
Now they should give the Tsoo a bonus XP modifier since everyone skips them for being tough enemies. Not that they're really so bad...they're just not reviving sacks of meat and bonus XP like the Freakshow were.
Bonus XP for CoT ghosts too. Stupid resistant to everything acc debuffing ghosts, there's a reason people don't like you until you turn into weaksauce thorn casters. -
Yeah. Bad time for the devs to actually be *working* (who wants to work on holidays?) but you'll have a lot more people around available to provide feedback since they'll be on some kind of break most likely. Those little dataminers they love can chew on info if no real people are around, at least.

I had someone ask "hey can i borrow 15 mil?" when I was at the WW in talos. Guess that was a month and a half or so back. Just ignore the spangers. Not literally /ignore (unless they're really annoying), but jeez. I'm not one of these billionaire flippers, go bug THEM for a handout...except giving away inf isn't how they got ridiculously rich. Why are you asking random people for that much cash..."Borrow"? Yeah, right, like i'm ever going to see you again.
In the early, year 1 days of CoH i'd randomly be dropping bling on people. I remember I handed out quite a lump to fully SO out the basically entire team of a Task Force I joined, because in those days you'd get auto-booted from the TF if your anchor lost connection and I had already had it happen two or three times so I was like..."BUY SO's LETS DO THIS FAST" -
Quote:A blueside, or even worse just a REDUNDANT, Stalker AT? Ergh. Or, hopefully, a shapeshifter (I use my SoA disguise, now I have an arachnos gun! I'm now adopting my OMEGA 1-2-3 Malta skillz, now I have dual pistols!)
a Spy AT -
Quote:Yeah, I was asking some guys who had played Champions and they just sort of said the actual lore for the PnP game sucks, but the Hero generation system is *so good* it doesn't matter--you have a dungeon master to write the campaigns, anyway so you don't have to rely on the bland, uninspired factions like Argent (illegal and immoral, but they're no Crey Corp. They're not SUPERVILLAINS) or VIPER (who...I dunno, I guess they're Cobra ripoffs, except without Cobra Commander or a hot evil russian baroness). Jack should've just thrown that dirty dishwater out and let his writers run loose with their own ideas. Rick Dackan's story bible contribution to CoH was immense even if he got chased out of Cryptic. He wrote some good stuff. That's more or less what I meant when I talked about Rick. I'm not sure of his skills as a game designer, but all the things he made had heart in them. I know that's a corny, vague thing to say, but when I look at most of the old City of Heroes factions, I see good ideas that have had quite a lot of thought and creativity put into them and that have been well realised. Even something as genericly simple as the Hellions still have interesting sides and their own moments of glory, but we also have truly interesting ideas like the Vahzilok.
And, I know I'll get reamed for this, but I still find Lord Nemesis to be my favourite villain not just in this game, but pretty much my favourite villain in general. It's not so much about what he does or what weapons he as as it is about how he is written. Always planning, always plotting, always with bigger ideas, and he manages to use steam power to produce superior technology than everyone else. AND he is reserved for the upper-level game, because his forces are both too secretive and too deadly to be unleashed on a level 1 enemy. I am not, nor have I ever been, in favour of dumbing down big bads and their minions so that new players can fight them right out the gate. It takes away from their mystique and the sense of power. Rikti Invasions are TERRIBLE for that, because people start fighting "the greatest threat the world has ever seen" as soon as they step into Atlas Park.
Even to this day, I still like the old factions the best.
I like the Lemurians just because their Bleak Ones are such a nod to Lovecraft and Dagon.
