  1. Yeah, the event just keeps going and going. It's worse than the scheduled Rikti Invasions when they continuously bomb zones all weekend and you just get sick of it and everybody stops showing up.

Jack being rare is sort of irritating, but it was worth Merits working to spawn him at least. And they should, like, mention that he doesn't spawn in Cap redside...I spent with a team and we killed the pumpkin king many times without any of us realizing he doesn't pop in that zone. Only found that out later when I caught the badge in Sharks and someone said so. Why doesn't ol' Jack pop in lower level zones if the big pumpkin does? Seems stupidly arbitrary.

Also took awhile for people to stop arguing that you had to do the banners one-by-one. I left a few zones early in the event when nobody would listen and they all bunched up at a single banner instead of at all four--that banner event was going to succeed, why waste my time.

getting salvage from fighting makes sense to me. What did they do in the previous years to earn it? (never was subbed during the halloween event timeframe)...did people just Superspeed around clicking doors and ignoring spawns? The small insp treats seemed alright, I just kept eating them like candy.
  2. any more screenshots of costume pieces anywhere? that awful naruto run from champions isn't gonna get me buying that pack, even if it is a mini travel.

They did something similar twice in the past, found that fewer names than they expected were freed up.
Didn't they set the level cutoff really low, though? I thought it was something like if you're under level 5...if you just ran through a Sewer team at level 1 instead of only creating it to namesit you would've been over that bar.

The Champions setup of charname@accountname was ugly, though, even though it let you be Superbob@Bob and Superbob@Bobby. Don't know if they ever put in an option to mask that stuff after launch.

    No "More"

Revamp of old Hazard Zones. As is, nobody uses them anyway, and instead of making new zones why not re-make old and busted ones?

New Boomtown: More Booms in Boomtown! the hazard zone has recently become a massive urban guerilla warfare zone between the resurgent 5th Column and the Council. The danger caused the zone to plummet into true lawlessness, and now Arachnos has set up a base of operation behind its war walls to further infiltrate the City of Heroes; however, some of Lord Recluse's forces are going rogue and joining the ranks of the Column... (No, not lolpvp, just share the zone instead of blueside only content. Or do it like how heroes and villains have their own versions of Ouro.)

New Dark Astoria: The Sleeper has Awoken! The once sleepy ghost-haunted streets of Dark Astoria have erupted into a true Apocalyptic nightmare scene. Occasionally the Banished Pantheon erect Banners intended to allow their bloodthirsty aztec gods a door back to our world. Arachnos has gained a small foothold hidden in the clinging fog, but the area is affecting the Mu Mystics strangely... (No, not lolpvp, just share the zone instead of blueside only content. Or do it like how heroes and villains have their own versions of Ouro.)

yknow, etc etc. Reuse, recycle, don't exclude the already deprived and dying redside of contet.

Ouro would be cool if it allowed you to go to the old versions of revamped zones. Faultline WAS pretty neat when it was all craggedy and busted up...and the CoT were all over the place...make an Ouro TF that sends you to stop them from destroying the dam and raising Orenbega, like Statesman used to say they totally were working on a Trial about that happening?
  5. After a minute or so of Walk being activated it should spawn a level 1 Hellion to try to mug you.

They're essentially what was originally a PvP-centric AT tweaked to be viable in PvE.
I always thought it was basically just the D&D guy's--Zeb Cook had more influence on CoV than Statesman, right?--porting a D&D rogue into CoH, but he didn't realize the game didn't have Skills. Stalkers would be a lot cooler if they could lay traps and use poison and stuff.

I love my DM/Nin, but nobody else does. A lot of stink is still attached to the stalker AT because Stalkers tended to be parasitic groupmates, they didn't do anything and expected a team to level them up so they could one-shot in lolpvp (man, that's some GREAT PVP right there!) and from Castle refusing to buff a severely and demonstrably WEAKSAUCE AT because of lolpvp until he created VEATS, which would've completely eclipsed the Stalker's role of being a stealth and crit specialist. Banes and Widows are way better than old stalkers were.
  7. yeah, i figure red will mix stronger. Brutes > Tankers. Corrs > Defenders. EATs bad, VEATs good. It seems that unless you're willing to shell out the influence to get permadom, a controller is better than domi though. And Stalkers and MMs will be left out in the cold with 2 sides not really wanting them for anything much. Sad, I have fun with my stalker and learned how 90% of MMs suck just because they never learn how to use fine pet controls with my ninja/stormer that's pretty much on the retired shelf.

Wonder what the Demon MMs will be like. Summon CoT nerva spectral demons/behemoths/maybe a Succubus to be a third melee pets set? Mmm, ridiculous doorblockage from behemoths...
  8. Hamidon controls human impostors made of jello to infect the city with the will of the earth. They ask for TPS reports.
  9. He might've adopted the title to amuse himself. He has a Tyrant's absolute control. If ol' Tyrant is being retconned away from being the original Lord Recluse and into a benevolent dictator who rules with an iron fist because he realized humanity is too petty, stupid, and warlike to not be Destined for self-annihilation unless the strongest super took unequivocal charge and began commanding instead of debating and compromising and fighting over control...

actually I think Superman did that too in what if's. Didn't he have a cooler authoritarian name when he did?
  10. If there aren't i'm going to punch a hellion.

I can see why they wouldn't have a custom map maker in AE. If just making a nice fully fleshed out custom faction takes up so much space just imagine how much more space using a Base Builder type tool to create a custom map would use.

I wish you could. I'd be able to spend a freakin' month just making one story arc if I could make my own maps instead of the same old same old.
  11. I want billboards showing BIG BROTHER IS PROTECTING YOU and Tyrant hugging a puppy.

Recluse would never hug a puppy.

    Disappointed

    Quote:
    - isn't only having a lvl 1 - 20 range for the new content fairly limited? That isn't going to last long. Perhaps there will be more, but a major new CoH/V expansion that aims to bring people back an hold them needs to last more than the first (quickly passed) 20 levels. Maybe the additional content for lvl 50s is going to end any concern I have, but it is certainly fair enough to ask the question.
I hope that that means issue 17 or 18 or whatever they're up to by GR will be focused on 50 content, because this game needs it. I was hoping Praetoria would focus on the THIS MEANS WAR that the Tyrant vowed to bring against Earth's champions, not content for characters who can't even take Stamina yet. new 1-20 stuff would sustain people for about a week or so, but then they'd be like..."so that was it?"

as long as the graphics overhaul runs better than the junk CO had...Champions ran so very poorly I had decided before it ever launched I wasn't getting it. Don't make me turn everything off in CoX just to compete with that mess.
  13. Nemesis is trying to seize the divinity of the unbroken Rularuu at the end of time in Ouroborous. DJ Zero is the only man who stands against Nemesis and infinite power.
  14. oh man, the Devouring Earth are going to be a major player in Praetoria? Will Invuln come back into style as those Quartzes poop out -def all over the place? or maybe praetorians just decided hamidon is waaay too much of a waste of time and effort to raid for a piddly amount of merits or a lame random HO roll, so he's just grown unchecked in the Hive and the Abyss.

Lord Nemesis making you think he doesn't exist is the best nemesis plot nemesis ever came up with.

    Good for what?

I have a ninja/stormy. It was fun, but I don't log it in much. Not much call for MMs to come do anything except maybe an occasional Barracuda TF.

That storm slow toggle and the freezing rain helps keep the packs from spreading out and causing the idiot ninja to run all over rooms like chickens with their heads cut off aggroing everything in sight. I always assumed ninja and zombehs were just terrible sets because whenever I'd group with one their pets would just be going hog wild charging all over the place--but they're not actually that bad if you bother to learn finer points of pet control. The Bots, Thugs and Mercs seem to just stand there and not require your input while they shoot away...which makes them kinda really boring ez-mode.

Guess Demon Summoning might be melee-centric too, even it out 3 melee 3 ranged pet types?
  16. Paragon would become like Stargate command and start portal jumping to do battle with evil.

Or it was just Scirocco's plan went through alright and now everybody is a brainwashed zombie that mimics the actions of "good" without having any real choice in the matter anymore because he used the power of the hammer of the gods to wipe out evil.
  17. I look forward to a lot of things that might be there. Of course, all we know is side switching and Dual Pistols/Demon Summoning.

I hope Praetoria has cool stuff for level 50s to do, and more RWZ-type raids where you just assemble two+ groups of heroes and go beat the snot out of an army of Praetorians trying to do something Bad, like send a quantum discombobulator through the portal and melt the whole dimension into Rularuu! Rularuu!

I hope that Alternate Advancement thing is in. Heard rumors of, like, 10 free universal enhancement slots or whatever. Sounds interesting, even though it might not actually do much (ED would start kicking you in the teeth and make those like TrainingO-quality, right?)

Market Merge? Yes please, redside has less players and less of everything. Least MA was having recipe rolls generated quick :/ SFs are worth, like, zilch merit-wise. And they even hid one of them in the stupid Supergroup Base computer...it's like, uhhhh, this must've been Statesman's idea. Put Silver Mantis out in Nerva or Sharkhead please. Sideswitching will be nice. Redside will probably turn into a ghost town, though. Seems like Brutes and Corrs would overrun scrapper/tanks and defenders blueside. Defender's inherent is so lame. Maybe the competition having Scourge will make them rethink Vigilance.
  18. Quote:
There are sets I like, on ATs I hate. I want to play Ninjitsu on a Scrapper. I don't like Stalkers.
Hey, Stalkers are okie dokie. I like my DM/Nin, even though nobody ever wants a stalker for anything and think they suck. A real shame horrible players flocked to it for the l33t 1-shot Assassin Strike for looooooolpvp, and gave the entire AT a reputation it never recovered from even after Castle was forced to give buffs since Banes/Night Widows would've completely eclipsed the old gimpier stalkers.

Ninjitsu on a scrapper would be pretty awesome though. Love how it's far less tight than an /SR. No real reason you can't have *good guy* ninjas. Especially not when you'll have goodguy Ninja MMs in GR. Heck, good guy *demon summoning* MMs in GR...

I seriously doubt Cathedral of Pain will ever be done. That's just a promised part of CoV that Statesman never lived up to, and Posi is like 'yeah, we're not doing that' after he got promoted. I'd love to see what the trial was going to be like just sans Items of Power reward, though. Unless it was just going to be a massive zerg rush of Rularuu inside the big death star room or something, like a respec reactor room on crack. Man, blueside respecs are boring.
  19. I've seen ITF and LGTF speed runs at 21 and 31 minutes. I don't see how -1'ing the enemies in the maps could possibly make them go faster. Heroic was already pretty incredibly easy, anyway, assuming your team wasn't 3/4 AE pl babies who don't know how to play the game outside of boss farms. but yeah, i expect Posi will get slashed to like 20 merits. More to do with the super awesome new sidekicking...wish the old blueside Phalanxer and Shard TFs would get overhauled to be more fun :/

The hardest encounter in the game is the Abandoned Sewer Trial imo. Requires actual teamwork (one teammate keeps blowing up their generator before the rest of the team is ready with theirs? you fail) and speed, not just building the right team and excluding ATs because they're 'dead weight'. My stalker, my MM? never gonna have a Master of Recluse. Master badges don't impress me...it's like, congratulations, you discovered the Holy Trinity. Welcome to MMOs of 10 years ago. Want a real master badge? All your fancy IO bonuses, gone. No defeats or temps allowed. +4 Buffed enemies only. Your team suffers Debuffed status. Badgers can be happy, won't be anybody but them to care enough to bother with it again.
  20. BS gets awesome Nictus sword
Katana gets no awesome Nictus sword
But, Talsorian Katana is most certainly NOT an awesome Lightsaber that you can make "vwoo vwoo vwoo" sound effects to yourself while swinging.
  21. I think Positron should've just made you take the maximum level bump difficulty option to earn Master of badges. I think he thinks of badges as a bit of a joke anyway (back when he put ONE of those Infected at the RV train just to shut up badgers before you could Ouro Isolator? lol)
Don't get why people get in such a twist over Master badges, honestly, not unless they get tied into an Accolade or costume unlocks. I assume it's the same people that get offended they don't have a Dev come and award them the rare Bug Hunter badge for finding a typo in an ancient blueside story arc or something.

As long as they don't touch the Difficulty slider for anything else. Subscription gets canceled if they decide to nerf Fun. I'll pick up Aion or something.
  22. I had always been under the impression Praetorian Earth was the evil goatee universe. It's kind of disappointing when I found out that Lord Recluse isn't going to be King Extrovert living in a city built on a shining hill that has rainbow bridges constructed by friendly leprechaun redcaps in Going Rogue and stuff.

I do wonder if Posi is going to take CO's Nemesis system and tweak on it, pitting you against the Praetorian you as your own nemesis. Except evil you has a goatee. Even the female models.

    Level 50 Snobs

    Quote:
You keep all powers that you have for up to 5 levels above the level that you exemplared down to. So if you took Stamina at 20 and went down to 15 for Positron's TF, you'll still have Stamina (and whatever you took at levels 16 and 18) during that TF.
Yeah, and I'm betting Posi's merits are going to get nerfed with a sledgehammer after the datamining shows speedier runs from the new super sidekicking.
  24. Yeah, made a new character playing with some proliferation. Endurance free brawl is nice for the lowbie without enough attacks yet. The origin power I thought was costing less, but I was thinking maybe it was just Brawl not costing anything. It's still pretty crummy, but at least it's not so terribad that you don't even use it because it leaves you sucking wind for no good reason whatsoever. Srsly, you could chuck a throwing knife or whatever at a fleeing mob with a tiny sliver of HP and it would be like "lol no"

What would've been funnier? Give your origin power a small chance to proc a small infusion of endurance, like a Performance Shifter for noobs.

Do a MAN build and PvP with nothing but 6-slotted brawl! u will pwnz.
  25. Not i16 stuff. Think the only change there was the Column are back on the streets and pounding galaxies, mistakenly thinking they're french mimes.

The BP have hidden themselves in the dirt in BB like that, probably always. Think they do it in the Sharkhead graveyard too but it's been awhile. They do it in the Bog on Striga at least.

The reapers with cadavers...dunno when that was. Probably around the time they made Hellions lean on walls and sit on overpasses and those dumb skulls kill themselves by attacking a car until it explodes on them

The radio mission ambush...I think it does happen rarely. Probably just never notice it.
