1) Notice that in the comics BAB doesn't even look like his game counterpart. (I think the devs need to spruce up his model a bit, it doesn't look all that great...I think he needs darker skin, if anything.
)
2) On the old CoV site, as I said above, the newspaper stated that BAB and Statesman were two out of the many heroes that showed up to stop Lord Recluse's big rally. The picture that went along with the story showed "Mr. Dreadlocks Hand on Chest" hand to hand with LR.
3) In the trailers, his hands do not glow. They're more explody/firey if anything. Thus, more like SS than EM. -
I'm so there States. Me and Fiergon.
(BTW, any info about the CoH lan-party set up?) -

From what I recall, though I cannot find the originating post, the chick in pink with the fishnets is the South American blaster, La Estrella.
For some time, there was some discussion that she was the original Sister Psyche, but a dev stepped in and set us straight. Now If we could just get the mods to stop deleting posts that have dev content in them, we might find this stuff without resorting to human recall.
Maybe if there was an ARCHIVE that we could delve through, even though it were slower(because we would have to wait for the decompression), we would still have the inforamtion available.
<sigh> Oh well...
Can we get a dev to reaffirm that the lady in pink is La Estrella?

Doesn't quite look like her here, but that once again could be Liberty with her colors off.

But.....the Bug Dude and Topknot Guy....there.....AGAIN.
The article also specifically points out that Statesman and Back Alley Brawler were among the heroes that showed up, supporting our assumption that Mr. Dreadlocks is BAB.
(In the CoV trailer, it certainly looks like he's using SS attacks instead of EM. His punches are more firey/explody than glowy.) -
The real question is: If I started playing Outcast volley ball using Repel, would Positron attack then, just to spite me?
Because it happens to me all the time in Atlas park proper. -
You're correct, BTW, the redhead in the very exotic costume is inded Sister Psyche.
Just to condense the list, going top down, left right:
Synapse
Back Alley Brawler (Assumed: Appears on game box, trailer.)
Sister Psyche (Confirmed by Dev at some point.)
Statesman
Manticore
Blue/Green-spotted tech guy Unknown (Seen in box art)
Green with armor dark haired woman Unknown
Ms. Liberty (On the box I think it's Beta Liberty. She's missing her belt buckle and her colors are slightly off, but otherwise she looks the same.)
"Squirrel Girl" Unknown (Seen in box art)
TopKnot Dude Unknown (Seen in box art)
Positron
Other MIA heroes:
Bug Guy (Box front and battle scene)
"Apex Prototype" - has antennae (Box front and battle scene, trailer)
"Refridgeron" white ice blaster(?) (Battle scene only)
Along with a handful of other heroes I don't feel like squinting at. -
And here I am wondering once again who the rest of those heroes are.
That big guy with the ponytail has been around forever, but never IDed, IIRC.
Now we also have the Blue/Green guy, the Green-adorned lady in the foreground, and the very hard to see girl in very back. -

Next time, I'll let him be built, then take em out. That is depending, of course, on if I can get alone with him long enough to wait for him to be built. Many people seem to be camping these Paladin areas now. I'd love to see him when he's fully built.
[/ QUOTE ]
I could always get you a couple of screenshots of him complete.
Just towards general good-will, I would suggest you always "advertise" Paladin constructions you see. That way everyone can have a chance to participate in the event.
Ever hear of the Perez Park Kraken? Usually 9 times out of 10 it's soloed by a high leveled character and never reported, leaving out scores of heroes that would love to have the badge associated with it. -

It's a timer if you get within visble range of the sites then you are too clsoe-back up and if no newbs run by and stare at it then soon he will spawn so check back every 5-10 at the sites.

Player. Interaction. Does. Not. Affect. The. Spawn. As. Confirmed. By. CuppaJo. Herself. Thank. You. -
Random. 100%. All monster spawns are random and only random. At one point CuppaJo posted that player interaction has no effect on monster spawns.
There are plenty of reports of the Paladin construction spawning right in front of or right on top of people. -
How silly of me, I forgot another friend's comic!

Also you can accredit TIELRUEF comics to one Fier. -
It kinda makes me feel a little sad that such a reassurance is needed in the first place.

I have two things to say:
1. That's what you get for reading the forums when you should be working:P
and
2. From the looks of things, the invasion won't get started until you get home from work anyways... Six hours of downtime and still no servers up.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a third thing to say: this thread was from when update 3 went live. There is no invasion. Someone apparently just thought it would be funny to resurrect it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fourth thing: It was update 2. -
Why was this one bumped too?
Cut it out! -
I'm pretty sure it's every toon. You only have to log in for the badge.

Best. MMORPG. Ever.
I think that about sums it up.

Statesman is an Incarnate, just like Lord Recluse. Statesman himself has said this. What an "Incarnate" is, is up to anyones guess.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah, but that's a new AT, isn't it? if Statesman had said there would be a new origin coming out, and it would be Incarnate, it would mean that.
but i think with magic, natural, technology, science, and mutation, they pretty much have their bases covered, origin-wise, unless you're speaking of dual-origin heroes
i.e. someone could say the bulk of Wolverine (C) is dual, since he has good healing, but his bones are nearly unbreakable now, due to the adamantium, making him mutant/technology
[/ QUOTE ]
I see what you're talking about, but the Incarnates are a new epic archetype. That means they get an origin built right in. -
Edit:
Why do people never bother to check the dates on posts? -

TIELRUEF Comics
I do THATCH and my friend does TIEL. Both have an assortment of CoH material. -
"Yes. But there is one other way in that they don't know about. Yet." pondered Stickman.
The surrounding heroes perked up at this comment.
"Luckily the Green Line is still open all the way to Talos. It would be easier to go through Independance Port, but it's too close to the Hot Zone. Plus I don't want them getting anywhere near Terra Volta." Stickman continued.
"Well then, what's the plan?" asked Fiergon.
"Quite simple, really. We hitch a ride into Talos, and we go through the PDP to get to Steel. In the meantime we can use Pocket D as a staging area then use the tunnels to send teams up into the false building. From there, we'll do those bastards in like we did here."
"That's great and all, but what do we do if it's blocked by the time we get there? And what do we do about the other exits? Surely they're not going to set up camp in Steel all day." Fiergon questioned.
"You guys leave that to me." a stern, gruff voice eminated from a corner of the room. That voice belonged to none other than Lt. David Wincott of the Paragon Police force. "We'll set up a whole squad of Police Drones and guards around all the other exits. Luckily we've already completely blocked the train routes, so they're gunna have one hell of a time if they want out."
"We appreciate your efforts, Sir."
And on that note Stickman gathered his materials and with a wave of a hand, the rest of the team followed him out of the bunker and into the bittersweet night of now ransacked Atlas Park. -
You sure those weren't just normal Clockwork Princes?
IIRC, Babbage is bigger than Paladin. -
It's all about Jet Jaguar.
-
I sure hope they don't Terrorize the city. THAT"S COMPLETELY UNRESISTABLE AND I CAN"T DO ANYTHING TO DO THE DARK DEFERS AND IF YHEY DO THIS GAME WELL BE GONE TO THE AMERICANS!!

Concerning the "Right for Might" concept:
Sure, I understand that Cryptic doesn't want people just breezing through the game like a modern-day platform/action console game. I understand that they like money as well. However, it's one thing to find ways to cut out and snip bits power leveling away, to get rid of the tumorous mass that's atatched to the game (ie, timer on the Wolf mission). And it's a whole 'nother to start messing with things that affect the entire game player-base (these proposed changes).
The only problem is that for the most part, this situation is neither of those. Instead, this is hurting the 'casual' player in the name of powerleveling and barely helping to solve the real 'problem'. I know it's not intentional, but doing things that overly affect everyone, and barely even touch upon its intended target, makes things go very bad.
My point still stands: this is only nipping a tiny bit of powerleveling in the bud, while screwing casual players. (Didn't the Civil War start a similar way? ZOMG Nemesis!! >.>I highly doubt they will ever actually try to nerf ALL outdoor missions, which for the most part can be herded, apparently (and besides the fact that herding can be done pretty much anywhere). Thus, most of the powerleveling 'problem' will never be solved then.
On top of that, who's to say that powerlevelers are losing Cryptic big bucks? They had to pay for the game, for one. Second, even if they powerlevel, who's to say they're losing Cryptic more money than say, someone who only played for a month, then quit because they didn't like the game? And here's the final thought: Why do you think they're powerleveling in the first place? They clearly have no interest in content, so if anything, if they feel antagonized by this change, they'd still quit 'early'.
As DJ Jester has said multiple times: We need scalpel precision, not a sledgehammer.
We need Dr. States with a lazer beam. Not Dr. Vahz with a hacksaw. -
Suggestion: How about you get full XP if you're doing a mission? In other words, Leader A sets kill 10 Council mission. Leader A and Teamie B spilt up and still get full XP because it's for a mission.
Personal Opinion: I have to give a huge "Meh." to the entire system, really. My particular irk is the fact that you made it so you get full XP on a mission...the thing is that missions were what most PLers were using in the first place (Wolves, Dreck, blah blah blah)! What I'm saying is that the system at its core focus, to stop powerleveling, is really weak. You're only really cutting down about (*made up statistic*) maybe 1/4-1/3 of powerleveling, and then hurting the sub-group of those who prefer to street hunt. -
Well, I'm not sure if the Pally's pals despawn after a while or what.
Both times I've seen him active he had at least a few clockwork left over from the construction site following him. (Of course once was back when Stickman was only level 18 or so I think, so that parade of CW left a mark or two, luckily I was at the train station.)
In fact, now that I think of it, both times I saw the Paladin completed it was over by the train.... And of course what inspired me to stop the diabolical mechanical menace was of course 3 things:
- The Badge
- My Tech Origin
- THE FACT THAT THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM, HE WAS COMPLETED, HIS CRONIES TRIED TO KILL ME, AND WHEN I FINALLY LAND ONE HIT ON HIM, HE DIS-A-FREAKIN-PEARS.
