1. I hope the devs are ready for the influx of angry users.

They datamined for the original TFs, I see no reason why they can't do it again.

Just noticed: You're completely missing the 3 Respec badges along with Celebrant.

[/ QUOTE ]

Am not.

Hehehe.

They are all in the Achievements section. Respec badges are under "Task forces and Trials" and Celebrant is placed under the "Special Events" subsections.

[/ QUOTE ]

*shrug*

I'm just used to the way they're usually listed I guess.

7) Undying, etc, are not for debt worked off, they are for number of deaths.

[/ QUOTE ]
From what I have seen, Deathless, Undying, & Exalted will be the three new epic debt badges with I5. Getting a badge just for dying does not seem like a real distiction to me, but getting them for working off debt is something else entirely.

[/ QUOTE ]

1) The titles and texts are completely different between the two sets, much unlike the congruence between all of the other new sets (IE, Paragon -> Role Model). The old texts talk about being defeated by striving on, the new ones joke about how despite being defeated so many times, you haven't yet died (due to the Medicom system).

2) Somebody tested using a level 1 Peacebringer. Went to Peregrine, aggroed mobs, died, hospitaled, went right back outside, died again, etc. They eventually got the Undying badge.

3) Somebody said that while playing, they were defeated in a mission and got both The Unbroken Spirit and Undying at the same time.

ETA: Woah doggies, your Portal Jockey listing is incomplete. The badges needed for Portal Jockey are Dimensional Warder, Shrouded, Multidimensional, and Scholastic.

Animated wings are never coming due to difficulty with animating them or something like that. The winged AT is somewhere on the horizon though.

[/ QUOTE ]

To clarify, animated wings are not going to ever become a costume piece, but instead will be a feature of one particular Epic Archetype.

Thank you for taking the time to go through it. Shows an addic... I mean, "dedication: to badges which rivals my own.

[/ QUOTE ]

After being constantly denied the chance to get a really good badge listing going myself (mainly since I can't get a host or some other annoyance) I like to keep an eye on everyone else's guides.
7. 1) I know it's a pain, but putting the exploration badge listings by zone, then alphabetical order is better since that's how they are listed in-game.

2) You accidently left and extra spot for Straw Weight Champion on the "Unaccounted" list.

3) Passport is an Accolade, from what I've found.

4) Both Corsair and Spectral are achievement badges stemming from defeating Pirate Ghosts.

5) Street Crime, Super Patriot, and Task Force Commander are not in the game at all and should go under "Unaccounted".

6) Would probably be wise to reorganize the player badges by their own grouping (ie, move all the healing badges together).

7) Undying, etc, are not for debt worked off, they are for number of deaths.
8. I still love the wordplay between Outbreak and Breakout.
9. Version 1.0

You're probably looking at your badge list and thinking "What the heck are Illusionist decoys?!"

Look no further. I shall explain how to track down these elusive fiends in due time.

The Badge Itself

Name: Illusionist
Text: You have learned enough from fighting the Illusionists of the Carnival of Shadows to know the real from the fake.

The Bare Bones

Oddly enough, the total number of Illusionists you need for the badge has never been really pinned down. Some say 200, others say more.

Theory: The badge is 100 or 200, but a single summon of Illusionists (3 per) only counts as a single tick. Lt. and MIs count even less.

What are you looking for?

What counts for the badge? Lt. Illusionists, Master Illusionist bosses, and summoned decoy Illusionists.

What counts the most? The summoned ones, my friend.

Go ahead and nuke any normal Lt. Illusionist you find, but don't expect to build up your numbers very easily doing that.

Illusionist Farming - "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?"

There's two simple methods: 1) The standard farming method. 2) The milking method.

<ul type="square">[*]Farming Method
This usually requires a Carnie mission with a nice biiig outdoor map that requires glowies to be clicked in order to complete it.

Basically, kill everything. There should be plenty of Lt. Illusionists and Master Illusionists for the plucking. Then reset the mission. Repeat until desired outcome is reached.

<ul type="square">[*] The Milking Method
I prefer this method, mainly because it's slightly easier and much more compact. It also doesn't require a mission.

Basically, engage in battle with a Master Illusionist on Peregrine Island. Obviously, make sure she's a low enough level for you to handle. You also have to make sure she's not to low level too, otherwise you'll have to chase her around endlessly.

Master Illusionists summon three different pets: Phantasms (which will then summon Decoy Phantasms* on its own), Dark Servants, Illusionist (decoys).

Usually in that order, too. I have found that occasionally they'll summon all 3 pets at once, but always in that order.

There's a chance your MI's order might be different. If so, merely adjust accordingly. (I have found that something concerning A) high leveled characters and low level MIs, B) the tanker Taunt power, or C) tanker Taunt auras will affect the spawn order somehow.)

Anyway, once it comes time to summon those Illusionist decoys, the MI will put her hands together, as if she's about to use Flash. Instead of throwing her arms outward, she will spawn three Illusionist decoys. They'll immediately phase once they spawn, so you'll have to wait in order to hit them.

I'd like to specify that I did say *hit* them. Not kill them. There's a good reason for that. As long as you get a single hit on an Illusionist decoy, once they despawn naturally, you'll get credit for the kill along with the XP and influence. This also means you can simple make sure you hit each one once and then immediately begin controlling the MI again.

Milking Method DON'Ts and DOs
<ul type="square">
Don't kill the Master Illusionist! She's what's spawning the good mobs. They still count regardless of if you kill her!!

Don't hold the Master Illusionist! As far as I know, this will prevent her from both attacking *and* summoning pets. Doesn't stop their phase shift though.

Don't use your Cryo Pistol or any other -Recharge effect on the Master Illusionist! This will make her take *longer* to summon the Illusionist decoys! Bad!

Do use Air Superiority on her! This will keep her from flying up and away from you, forcing you to chase after her.

Do use AoEs once all three Illusionist decoys spawn and de-phase. This will help ensure you don't have to chase after them later. Best power to use? Caltrops. Auto-hit, minor damage, and slow. Does the decoys in and keeps the MI controlled.
Just by letting her cycle through her pets you'll start getting some numbers.

The Hybrid Method - Master Illusionist Rodeo

This method is probably the most often recommended one, mainly because it's secure like the Farming Method and gets you numbers easily like the Milking Method.

Type A: Get an Carnie mission (outdoor preferred) that needs glowies clicked to complete. Kill everything BUT the Master Illusionists. Proceed to milk all of the MIs. (Preferred way is to gather them up together.)

Advantage: No chance of kill stealing.
Disadvantage: If you kill all the MIs, you'll have to go and reset the mission and then clear it out again.

Type B: Make a team of several 40+ characters. Have each one track down and start milking an separate MI.

Advantage: If an MI is killed, that person can go find a new one without too much trouble.
Disadvantage: You can easily end up with people kill stealing your decoys or worse yet, nuking your MIs.

There you have it! How to get the Illusionist badge!

It would be nice if Issue 5 had a new Accolade or two.

[/ QUOTE ]

BAD POST NECROMANCER! BAD!

Issue 5 DOES have a new Croatoa-themed accolade!
11. It sounds like a generic contact glitch. When I got the arc from Jose Escalante, I did start off with the Base 80-50 mission.

Also, I'd like to point out that the 3 new "debt" badges are actually for number of deaths.
12. [ QUOTE ]
Also, kneeling down is in no way a good way to fire a bow. So the sniper thing is out.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think I rushed my explanation for what I was trying to say.

What I meant was: In terms of cinematic direction, Manticore slid on his knees with two loaded pistols and got into near-point blank range and fired, as opposed to staying in the back, far away, and sniping. While the latter is more proper in terms of archery, the former is much more action orriented.

...and I can cobble together an arrowhead if I have to. I prefer to buy them though. Speaking of wise purchases, life has certainly gotten more interesting since I bought into the ability to tap the Emergency Network. Being able to teleport myself and my arrows has really opened up my options in combat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Edit: Apparently I'm not! Good catch VetoMan!

[/ QUOTE ]

Chalk it up to the rather fast-paced writing of the comic then?

When Synapse says "Congrats on your first super-power." it appeared that Manticore had indeed been granted teleportation powers period.

However, going on Manti's previous post along with the interview, this is instead supposed to be his teleportation system getting a strangely manifested upgrade.

Meh.

Just like it gave Positron an energy blast attack.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it was later learned that it wasn't Promotheus's fire that did that. It was the Chili Cookoff with James Coco.

[/ QUOTE ]

*gulp*

Here's to hoping that Positron's armor has to follow emissions standards.
15. Who said Manticore can control the TPing 100%?

Also, the move he did in the CoV trailer *did* have merit.

Basically, his two positions are kind of like comparing a sniper position with then sliding on your knees up to near-point blank range on your opponent.

Anyway, if any physics/bow people are handy: Would being closer to the target give his arrows more impact force?
16. [ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the suggestions...we'll definitely revisit the Shard to add new content (badges, missions, etc.), reformat current TF's (a little less grindy), make the teleporters fit the zone better, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ah, but the question is "When?", my face-plated friend.
17. I second the call for fast event spawns on Test.

Also, I also second that in particular, the Troll Rave needs a more obvious way to detect its presence.

In Steel, you can tell which buildings are "marked for death" and when they are burning, the amount of smoke makes it VERY obvious.

However, glow-in-the-dark Trolls in some back alley of Skyway are very hard to spot and very non-obvious (which is the exact opposite I'd expect from Trolls, hm?).

One suggestion to fix this would be to have some set rave locations that otherwise would be marked by spilled puddles of Superadyne. In other words, make the rave locations be static and clearly glow-in-the-dark!

To have Trolls randomly wandering from warehouse to warehouse in the shady back alleys of Skyway doesn't set right with me. Trolls are more likely to establish "bases" and usually make their actions VERY obvious.
18. Agreed with many other posters:

1) The new portals go against the concept of Mole Points.

2) The graphic for the exit of the portals makes no sense. It's the same graphic that's used to mark off the entrances of the Chantry (and presumably the Storm Palace).

3) All of the zones desperately need content. I especially enjoy the idea above about helping the forces clear out caves for Mole Points.

4) This isn't the absolutely proper place to put this, but seeing as there are those 4 uber-long super TFs: PLEASE GIVE US BACK TF SOUVENIRS. In the Shadow Shard they're even more important than usual, as they provide the key backstories to the Shard, something that never comes up in normal missions!!

ETA: Suggestion - have the Gravity Guysers temporarily suppress ALL travel powers (including Swift, Sprint, etc) in order to improve their accuracy.
19. Everyone above me always seems to beat me to the punch:

1) The Croatoa badges are way too big for my liking. (And Pumpkin King and Giant Killer's graphics are bugged.)

2) The badge tabs (primarily Achievements) needs a total re-do. It's very cluttered and messy between Zone Event, Server Event, Personal Player, and Villain Defeats badges. For some reason, many of them are out of order. Two that stand out are I3's Volcanic and Visionary. They're at the beginning of the list instead of positioned inside the normal string of Villain Defeat badges.

3) I would also like the inconsistent "previews" to be addressed.
20. Haven't you read the comic? Manticore is a pimp.

Hmmm, I too noticed an error in my character's (Luminary) description.

It said that she was built by Positron (which is correct, I think) but then it claims that she's also Positron's sidekick. Meanwhile, it does in fact mention Citadel(!) later on. Weird. I guess they had trouble fitting in Valkyrie?

[/ QUOTE ]

If Luminary was mentioned as Positron's sidekick, that was a typo. I will make certain it gets cleaned up.
