My main (and only) real problem with the blue caves in particular is that, in some of the tunnels the rock formations look a bit... intimidating.

BROTHER!

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey, I'm in Jersey too.

You would've known that if not for TF souvenirs.
2. I love blue caves. They're a nice change of pace, and they look a lot cooler than the very drab brown CoV versions.

The layer cake room sucks, but that's just that tile.
3. [ QUOTE ]
and failing positron? LOL- that stupid TF doesn't even have an AV in it- a 3 person team even at lvl 10 will wreck it if the players are half competent.

[/ QUOTE ]

Half-competence can apparently overcome the purple patch. I'll write that one down.
4. The Arachnoid is just a random spawn, added to the freshly-trashed room after, um, well, this thread revealed everything.

And I'm assuming the Urn is referring to the five origins, what with the whole Origins of Power angle the storyline is dipping into. I seriously doubt there's an actual egg or anything.

(b) the devs taking action, either seeding the market or increasing drop rates.

[/ QUOTE ]

A major problem with the markets is the Invention system itself. Recipes badly need to be rebalanced with more logical salvage requirements weighted towards Tech salvage instead of Magic. (Example: Generic Defense. What the hell were they thinking?!)

[/ QUOTE ]

I absolutely agree. There would be less issue with some salvage costing an arm and a leg if some (again, say Luck Charms) weren't overused in recipes. When's the last time you used a Scope for anything? Or that - don't even recall the name, crystal skull thing?

[/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, Scopes and Crystal Skulls (or whatever they're really called) are Uncommons, which is another problem with the system: Uncommons have almost no value.

If they added alternate recipes for Generics that required, say, 1 Common and 1 Uncommon, that would be very interesting indeed.

7. The only thing I dislike is the confuse, as it's nothing like how any Electric set has been represented thusfar, and therefore a little out of left field. Plus, if the goal is to drain endurance, it's kind of at odds with that.

I also lament the lack of a Tree of Life-style summon that gives teammates back endurance.
8. Name: Paragon Youth Corps

Currently Recruiting: Looking for new members, coalitions with other teen groups.

RP Level: RP-intensive, but OOC chat is alright.

PvP Level: Almost zero - we only PVP for story purposes.

Theme/Concept: You've heard it all before - we're your standard teen group. We're self-managed, and have a laid back attitude.

Activity: We currently only have a small number of active members, but activity is daily, if somewhat random. Weekends are the best for more intensive RP/events, however.

Requirements for Membership: Your character must be a teen. (Though this rule is stretched a bit - we accept up into the 20s.)

Leadership: Assembled Girl, Psykera

In-Game Contact: @IanTheM1

Out-of-Game Contact: IanTheM1

URL: VirtueVerse and Our Forums

Coalitions: Several other teen groups, with names interchanging in my memory. Some are less IC than others.

Other Details: We have a fully functional and RP-accommodating base. We have no prestige goals/requirements, the base is effectively complete.
9. I'm a huge nerd about environment design, so those screenshots of the Architect high-rise made me squeal.
10. IanTheM1

Rollerskates!!!!

Indeed. It's a shame that it'd be so much work, I really wanted to make a rollerskating (or rollerblading) character, or at least slap skates on my Lil' Slugger half-tribute.
11. Something that's been bugging me since I noticed it on my Corruptor:

Dark Blast / Moonbeam: Unlike other snipes, which have an increased secondary effect (Proton Volley, Sniper Blast, Zapp), Moonbeam only has the standard level of to-hit debuff, equal to its tier 1 and 2 blasts.

Also, looking at CoD, Psionic Lance appears to be slightly screwy as well, but then Psionic Blast is rather strange in general.

Put a story in there about how there is an item lost in the rubble that each side wants.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds...strangely familiar.

What I would love to see in the Abandoned Sewers is a full update, using the handful of "broken" sewer tiles they have, along with some new ones. Paths would be caved in, waterways would be cut off (ala the Riders mission in the LGTF), and other pathways would be linked via cave systems and perhaps even pieces of Oranbega, since the CoT are down there.

Also, a sound-based necessity: A location-based sound triggered when you're anywhere near the center, of the Hydra Head roaring or somesuch.
13. Base Repricing

1) How will the repricing of bases affect you personally?

<ul type="square">[*]I'll be able to grab a bit more prestige in the SG I run, simple as that. Though the base is effectively finished, I've considered expanding outwards from our 8x8 plot, but that revolves entirely around the rent system, rather than plot prices or the like.
2) Will you dismantle your base to gain the additional prestige from the repricing?

<ul type="square">[*]Yes. 1 control room, 1 power room, and many of the items therein will be swapped out when I get the chance to do so. Free prestige is free prestige.
3) How long would this process take you if you were to engage in this practice?

<ul type="square">[*]About an hour, give or take. Possibly even longer. I'll have to carefully document how the room is laid out (especially in regards to wall patterns and lighting) first, which will make things a bit more annoying. Thankfully my power and control rooms aren't TOO complex, though.
4) What are the positive and negative concerns regarding repricing?

<ul type="square">[*]+ Bases can grow a bit faster.
- Without a prestige refund script, it's a hassle for existing SGs.
- Rent is now cheaper overall, but all SGs will likely have to deal with it at some point. Rent is not fun regardless of how cheap it is. I myself will only have to pay 200, but that's 200 prestige in addition to the annoyance of having to go pay it at the Registrar, versus not having to do anything at all in I12 with my zero-cost 8x8 plot. I don't appreciate having the rug pulled out from under me in this regard.
5) How will this feature affect you long term and short term?

<ul type="square">[*]Short term, we'll be getting back in upwards of 300,000 prestige, which honestly won't matter much. Long term, we might finally upgrade, but again, depends on rent.

I have a second, up-and-coming SG which will benefit much more in the long term from the repricing.
Base Salvage Exchange to Invention Salvage

1) What is the negative effect on your base for this feature implementation?

<ul type="square">[*]None that I can immediately say. I haven't done much base-related crafting outside of building teleporters. There MAY be an issue in the future with the low amount of storage in the new racks, as it will force me to find room for multiples an will also bump my rent up further.
2) What is the positive effect on your base for this feature implementation?

<ul type="square">[*]None that I can immediately say.
3) How long will it take you to adjust to learning this new system?

<ul type="square">[*]Not very long, as there's not really much to learn.
4) What side effects to this system do you currently see from transitioning the old to new system?

<ul type="square">[*]I see a lot of potential problems with "old" storage racks versus "new" storage racks. It also raises the basic cost of base crafting.
5) What security concerns do you have regarding this change?

<ul type="square">[*]Group invention salvage storage means a greater motivation for thieves. Prior to this, nobody would bother stealing SG salvage, but now much like the enhancement bins these are a target. I myself have a fairly easy way of preventing theft, but the risk still exists on some level (like say, a previously trusted member making off into the night with the salvage after a disagreement).
Additional Notes:

<ul type="square">[*]Please take further looks at rent (with aims of removing it entirely, or at least allowing a group to auto-pay it), and more importantly, please provide the players at large with a design document of some kind outlining ALL of the base changes in detail. For instance, in closed beta we had to figure out how the new rent system worked, rather than being told in the patch notes that there was even a change in the first place. While we now have Plasmastream's guide to the changes, non-forumgoers will likely be VERY confused, especially on the rent changes.
14. I sent in a demorecord and a detailed report explaining how you can force the AI into a running situation to Lighthouse, as he asked some months ago, and I'm disappointed that I never got a response.

From what I could tell, if you trick the AI into switching to Melee Mode, then let it chase you, just as it gets into range to attack it will immediately flee. At one point I forced a Darkest Night'd Rikti to do a 180. Never quite confirmed if debuffs played a part or not, but I know the behavior seemed to pop up more often on characters with debuffs.

Brian: The most important thing that most of the players are requesting is the ability to change the costumes and customize the look of the bosses and things like that in the mission creator.

[/ QUOTE ]

You know, there's a side to all this I don't really think anyone's considered yet.

The improved MA has to work both ways, doesn't it? By improving the toolbox so that players can customise allies and baddies, surely that means the Devs will now have much greater freedom to do exactly the same thing in the official missions?

From what I can remember, the MA started out as a Dev tool. Unless I'm misreading something somewhere, a greatly improved MA will surely result in more and better mission content in the Issues, as well as giving us the customisation we wanted.

[/ QUOTE ]

Another step closer to "Evil Clone" missions, perhaps? Also means that maybe we'll finally see more NPC supergroups ala the Civic Squad.

Also, hooray for likely Focused Accuracy nerf!

With people theorizing that zones will be revamped with new locations for Day Jobs, does this mean we'll finally see the Paragon Times building?
17. Name: The Young Entrepreneurs' Club

Currently Recruiting: Yes.

RP Level: RP-intensive, but OOC chat is fine.

PvP Level: Almost zero - we only PVP for story reasons.

Theme/Concept: A group of up-and-comers, still in their teens and 20s, collected together and willing to put up with each other in order to take even more of what they want from the Rogue Isles.

Activity: Daily activity, but random. Weekends remain the best for any major activity.

Requirements for Membership: Your character must be relatively young. It also helps if they're slanted towards crime, as opposed to villainy, but it's not a strict requirement.

Leadership: Sunless Flame

In-Game Contact: @IanTheM1

Out-of-Game Contact: IanTheM1

Other Details: Our base is intended to be non-functional, aside from Invention utilities. All of our prestige will be going towards making a detailed RP space for our members, though earning it is not mandatory.
18. Name: The Paragon Youth Corps

Currently Recruiting: Always looking for new recruits and new coalitions.

RP Level: To be honest, I'm not terribly familiar with the RP level distinctions. But what we look for are people who are comfortable being in-character all the time. We don't mind OOC chatter nor the occasional OOC teaming spree, though.

PvP Level: The SG itself is low on PVP. A few members have interest in it, but it's not what we do as a group, outside of story-based fights.

Theme/Concept: Teen hero group. Of course, those three words can sum up about a million other SGs. One thing that I do think sets us apart ever so slightly is the group itself is very casual. Some members don't really fight crime much, others are big into being heroes.

Activity: I'm fully willing to admit we're in a decline as of late. Several members are scattered to the winds OOCly, but I'm driven to get the group up and running again. Generally speaking, we're active more in the Eastern time zone, at nights, and especially on weekends. I can't get much more specific than that.

Requirements for Membership: Be a teen character. The end. We have a message board (see below) for group activities, but there's no strict usage requirement outside of posting your character's info to the roster.

Leadership: Assembled Girl, Psykera, Gothic Defender

In-Game Contact(s): All contact should preferably be handled via global with me. I can be reached on either @IanTheM1 or @IanTheM2

Out-of-Game Contact(s): You can PM me right here on the boards.

URL: http://paragonyouth.proboards53.com/

Coalition(s): We're currently coalitioned with a whole medley of fellow teen groups, with names that criss-cross enough for me not to remember every single one.

Other Details: Our base is effectively finished, with 8 teleporter destinations, a med bay, storage racks, an invention table, and numerous RP spots. Prestige is not very much of an issue.
19. I was missing one the whole time.

Though I got the answer off of different spoiler list.
20. You promised spoilers, so spoil me on the locations of the Midnight Mystery items.

(For the record, I found most of them, just not all. Are some of them in Cimerora?)
21. It also hopefully means an end to rescued allies who are really dumb.

Faultline: Hey, did you see Fusionette around here anywhere?
Fusionette: *standing right next to him*
22. I seriously started crying with joy. No joke.

Happy 4th Anniversary, CoH.

So cool, finally got one of my characters in the paper - Kosuki Sasaki, who won one of the cc's at the Teen Bash in Galaxy.

Now, I need to ask, what's up with all the hype over being first after a redname in these threads?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I gotta say, this might be my favorite Scoop yet, with the obvious bias that I was in this issue too. XD

*wonders what the psi blast powers are going to be replaced with since it can't be a straight port of the defender set*

I'm very confused as to why Psychic Scream is in Mental Manipulation.

My only guess is that they just swapped it out for Aim.
25. Hilarious. And yet I can't help but wish it was an option anyway.

Would at least make screenshot comics even easier to produce.
