Hall of Fame is a popularity contest (or simply an exercise in garnering/farming votes). HoF shouldn't even be considered for something like this.
-
I'd give the Elec Armor version to both, maybe.
Me and my small cadre of game designer wannabe friends have discussed possible solutions before and we seemed to center in around adding passive regen to both sets. -
I was talking about what Umbral was saying, not what you said.

Perhaps having shape-shifting and stretching WOULD require a new model.
[/ QUOTE ]
It wouldn't require a new model. It would require a unique model. No variations possible for any limb that would do any stretching. No tweaking colors. No changing textures. Nothing. They're not going to put a powerset that is that limiting into the system simply because everyone would complain about it being too limited or that it doesn't let them do absolutely everything they want to with it. The fact that they delayed AE for an entire issue because everyone was screaming for custom critters is fairly demonstrative of this. The devs won't release something unless it's roughly 90% of what the playerbase expects/wants from it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, players deal with costuming limitations now and have come to deal with it. If I pick those giant Steampunk gloves, that cancels out choices I might have been able to make if I picked a different set of gloves.
Plus players might be able to forgive limitations if they could do stuff like this.
[/ QUOTE ]
Choosing one set of gloves merely prevents you from using a different set of gloves. That's completely different. We're talking "bare hands, one pre-specified standard skin color only" type restrictions. Ones that will hurt character concepts badly.
The biggest draw of this game is the character creator. The devs are not going to design an entire powerset that sabotages their biggest sell point. -

It strikes me as odd that the hats in the Magic Booster are gender restricted. Could the hats be made available to every body type?

Same problem with the Baron coat and the Skull Mask. I suspect it might be a parity thing, but meh. -
Arc Name: The Time Bandits
Arc ID: 39008
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @IanTheM1
Length: Very Long. Expect anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes depending on how fast you can go.
Difficulty Level: Balanced difficulty, but has additional challenges (mostly in the form of ambushes). Features entirely custom enemies.
Synopsis: Mender Silos has discovered that a band of thieves are disrupting the time stream!
The arc is only half-serious. Have fun! -

How about the game checks your hero and if you are lvl 50, it substitutes the image of YOUR hero for a statue in Atlas Park, say? Or they could add a place in Peregrine Island, or use the statue behind Maria Jenkins.
I would think that the game engine could interpret the image of your costume as it appears in the Costume Creator and substitute the stone-like colors and textures for the colors of your hero and add the image in an appropriate size.
The image of the statue could be client-side, like the objects in Propel--- it would only show up for YOU. After all, YOU are about the only one that will be thrilled, and EVERYBODY would get "their own" statue!
Let's face it, trying to pick out player characters to honor would raise all sorts of problems. But if you saw YOUR OWN hero once they reached 50... EVERYONE would like THAT!

And considering that this would be using more or less the exact same technology as the MA Hologram Contacts, might I just say this is brilliant and I'm a little sorry it got buried in the middle of this thread. Make this into its own thread, ASAP. -
Arc Name: For the Glory of Godby: Part 1
Arc ID: 6235
Faction: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @IanTheM1
Length: Very Long. Expect anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes depending on how fast you can go.
Difficulty Level: Balanced difficulty. Final mission is slightly challenging. Features Carnies and Custom Enemies.
Synopsis: Help Agent Crimson investigate the mysterious Godby Organization and get to the bottom of one of their latest plots.
Looking for plays, feedback, whatever. I'd love to hear about how fair the Godby Organization is as an enemy group. -
[ QUOTE ]
I am not fully understanding this as I have not spent the time and effort that you have investigating. However what I think you are suggesting is turning blaster/controllers into Tank Mages by using IO sets. The Tank Mage concept is not a good one for a multiplayer game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Defense set bonuses already do this just fine. -

[*]Mystic Fortune Power:
Ever wanted to have your fortune read in game? With the Mystic Fortune power players will be able to offer to read each others fortunes. Having your fortune read gives a power buff based on the Major Arcana of the Tarot, and can give a positive or negative effect on that character for the next 20 minutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
I sure hope the effects of this power are deletable before 20 minutes ... I don't want some terd I don't know, running up to me, using their power, and now i'm debuffed for the next 20 minutes with no way to prevent it/remove it.
[/ QUOTE ]
AFAIK (via City of Data), there's only one debuff in the bunch, and that's -3% ToHit.
Also, I am all over this. -

Also, it seems like almost everyone in this thread believes the event should be recognized in some way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, and? I didn't realize we were still arguing about that.
I do agree that the badge would be even worse, though. -

I myself only finally made an alt on Champion to show up a couple years ago, and even then can't always make it, so my point to Ian is that my support of the plaque certainly isn't to pat myself on the back.
[/ QUOTE ]
But you're one of the few people in this thread supporting this who isn't directly connected to and/or actively participating in TT. Of course, it still sounds like you at least have some bias towards it. *shrug*
Perhaps I misconstrued your earlier statement. -
[ QUOTE ]
The last several times I was on test, I noticed that the story arc icon had changed and been replaced by a green book. Am I crazy? What does the green book mean?
[/ QUOTE ]
According to a friend, it's a new icon to denote a zone arc, seemingly.
Also there's a missing note about the collapsing of Pool C and D merit rolls into one new pool, which I reported to Ex. -

This will not reach those who are interested in its recognition.
I'm just trying to point out that your idea is flawed.
[/ QUOTE ]
If Vox is to be believed, then yes it will.
Either that, or next TT ask everyone to imagine the plaque, and keep it alive...in their hearts... -

So by that theory, every accomplishment made by you Americans should not be acknowledged by us Canadians, unless it effects us.
Which simply is not true, we acknowledge accomplishment regardless of our involvement.

Servers are separate dimensions, not counties, towns, cities, states, countries, regions, continents or anything of the like. Schools don't teach Rikti history, last time I checked.

I know that Ian, I'm just trying to draw a comparison.

Translation: Instead of having closed or semi-closed servers display as Open, in which case clicking will force your client to hang for a good minute then report that the server is not available, please just display these servers as greyed out.
Did I get that right?
And if so, I actually agree. It's almost always easier to force my client closed than to wait for it to bring up the "Server maintenance blah blah blah" pop-up. -

Plaques are fun and mostly harmless. Tanker Tuesday is always a blast. I say add it. If you limit plaques to events that have run continuously for 5 years, there won't be too many additional plaques.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is like saying "Let's give out the [I Win Button] to five year veterans. There won't be too many of them!" Last time I checked, time did not suddenly freeze.
Also, PantherShade, you continue to miss the point that a plaque in a rarely-visited part of Kings Row is not going to bring almost ANY recognition to TT.
In fact, a good number of people in this thread seem to be double-talking on this point. Either you want the recognition, in which case all of Bill's alternatives would actually bring attention to TT, or instead you just want your collective name on a plaque for the collective ego stroke. As it stands "recognition" and "plaque in Kings Row" are mutually exclusive in my eyes. -

You know, the first thing I thought of when I ran into that one-click buff was, "This needs to happen to speed boost, force fields, sonic..."
[/ QUOTE ]
This is brought up pretty regularly, and it usually is shot down due to the fear that if the devs made any of those powers AoE, they'd nerf the strength of the powers to compensate.
[/ QUOTE ]
Note: MM AoE upgrades' endurance costs were raised to 45 endurance each. So how about that AoE Speed Boost? -
/signed. Resistance bonuses need a complete overhaul. Why exactly do they come in values of below 1% when you can get 2.5% Defense much more easily? The 2-to-1 rule is not being applied here.
