Apparently /jranger is something awesome that I totally missed when I was gone for a while... what was it? Why was it so awesome?

    [/ QUOTE ]

A man who believed brevity was the soul of wit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course, I sometimes wonder if I'm the only one who ever saw his hypocrisy.
  2. I strongly dislike the raid badge requirements.
  3. Mulling over it, I think what BABs was probably getting at way back when was that Banes/Crabs are not modeled with a head under their helmet, whereas Wolf Spiders are.

Fulcrum Shift as it is, is the big payoff for slogging through over 30 levels of mediocrity. Not having that to look forward to could easily kill off any remaining motivation to play a /kin Controller ever again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As IanTheM said, don't become too attached to this. Psionic Assault's Psionic Shockwave is getting nerfed, despite the fact that Dominators have to go through 37 levels of suckiness for the big payoff. So with your view, there's no more reason to level a /Psi Assault dominator?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The point being that if and when Castle nerfs PS, he'll be buffing the rest of the set to compensate.

But then, I don't think /Kin really needs it.

    [ QUOTE ]
Siphon Power (post-Fulcrum) is a damage debuff for hard hitting mobs that stacks quite well with Fulcrum, and it's stackable for 1/3 of it's duration on the base recharge, and easily permanently double-stacked.

-60% damage is better than -20%, and with Fulcrum doublestacked as well you can hit -80% for stints (note that the debuff for FS only lasts 30s, the buff lasts 45s).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Realistically speaking, do you need hard-hitting damage debuffs on a team of damage capped anything? That said, I could see it possibly being useful for AVs (depends on how badly they resist -DMG).
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Siphon power is still quite useful alongside FC. Remember. For the most efficient benefit from Fulcrum Shift, you need to be near "ground zero, aka in melee range of the target, or close to melee range. Invariably, you will have Blasters on the team who absolutely refuse to close in to get the buffs (or heals, or blue bar refill). For those, you can stand next to them and pop off a Siphon Power as a consolation prize.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When you can get FS down to 20 second recharge, for a 45 second buff, you really don't need Siphon Power all that much. Foolish Blasters don't really make up for the power slot, really.

    [ QUOTE ]
Additionally, Siphon Power is a good power to have until you get Fulcrum Shift, unless you fancy waiting 38 levels before being able to put out some decent damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Duh?
  6. There was a bug that briefly let you view Wolf Spiders sans helmet in the character editor, but that was about it.

It was never confirmed as a feature, but it's been implied that the developers are aware of the interest in them.

Though Crabs/Banes cannot be helmetless, IIRC, because they have a non-standard skeleton.

B_I, I'm a big fan of building your(general) characters however you want, regardless of whatever "bad" choices people can make. But, IMO, there is no point in playing a kin if you don't have Fulcrum Shift. The power is that good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Makes me wonder when FS will get the nerf it so richly deserves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How does FS deserve to be nerfed???

    Uh... no.

    [/ QUOTE ]

60 second base recharge time, in a set that has a self-Recharge buff, for a nuke-level effect. You don't see the problem with capping an entire team's damage basically non-stop?

Compare with the next closest power, Heat Loss.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If the rest of the set is as mediocre as you say, then the rest of the set should be buffed to compensate. As it is, FS also effectively eliminates the need to have Siphon Power. I have the same problem with Kin's partner in crime, /Stone Armor.

    See also: Psychic Assault/Psychic Shockwave.

  9. The idea of someone quitting over a badge change is hilarious to me, in an absurd sort of way.

    Recognized Badge

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't bother with worry about getting 100 stars now since apparently Recognized has the requirements of "Anyone rating your arc" on test. So you should get it when I15 goes live.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Awesome. Way to go devs, lets make any authoring badges even more worthless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Say what? I'd think that voting cartels got there first.
  11. Your sarcasm needs to be a little less subtle.

    New Aura ideas..

    [ QUOTE ]
You can certainly make an angel glow with the current auras. "Death glow" could be tricky, since dark colors are less visible, but I think a Tendrils aura with a mid-dark purple would work well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And ghosts already use Tendrils too. Don't really see how different a Ghost aura would be.

I do want the radiation aura. Rad Blast has always had really cool graphics, so something based of that would be pretty good.
  14. The Hand Clap change you propose doesn't make much sense. If I'm frozen solid in a block of ice, I can't perform a Hand Clap to knock the ice away in the first place. Plus, Melee ATs do not need a Break Free effect to begin with.

The only fix that Hand Clap needs is that it needs to be knockdown rather than knockback.
  15. Well here's an obvious one:

    Who's Patrick Duncan?

    Meet The Spy

My favorite part is the fact that you have a chance to just get nothing. I played for at least an hour (so at least two rolls) and got zippo.

    Meet The Spy

    [ QUOTE ]
i've been afraid of the achievements really, i love the spy but if history has taught me anything, when a new pack comes out that class becomes obscenely overcrowded, and with even two spies on a team, their jobs become hell on earth and frustrating

    [/ QUOTE ]

Achievements no longer control the unlocks. Instead you get a chance every 30~ minutes of gameplay to get an unlock. But note that you can get duplicates. And there's currently nothing to do with them.

I'm still missing half the new loadout, yet would have all of them under the old system. And ironically, this update's achievements are quite easy to get through normal play and actually attempt to teach class techniques.

Ahem. There's still some crowding, but it's mostly folks trying out the new weapons (if they're so luck as to get them) more than anything.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
And epics for the kheldians since half of the extra powers they have are still utter junk and will probably remain that way.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why make entirely new powers rather than fixing these supposed "utter junk" powers?

    Enforcer Armor

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
No, there are no NPCs in the game that wear Enforcer type armor (with the exception of some MA custom enemies). The Enforcer set was introduced shortly after the Vanguard set, which does look similar for some parts but totally different for others.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ^This.

It was brought in as a standby for the Vanguard set. Personally, I like the Enforcer set better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think it was meant as a player-friendly version of the PPD Power Armor.

That would be really creepy, when you think about it. also you couldnt do that, because you might need a name change.

    [/ QUOTE ]
One person's "creepy" is another person's "Bruce Banner to Hulk", "human to werewolf", "little girl to big power armor form", etc.

[/ QUOTE ] Superman to Superwoman? That simply isnt right

    Because?

Those two on the left. Alternate universes are funny like that.
  21. Fire, possibly Archery/Trick Arrow, maybe Dual Pistols.
  22. There's a specific set of platforms that infinitely spawn Toxics in Grandville. Basically if you head towards the tower and make a left and go up the ramp, I want to say it's that level.

  24. A badge is a one-time reward. You'd possibly see a brief spike as the badge collectors rushed to grab it, and then it'd return to mostly the same level of activity.

    Mystery Solved!

    [ QUOTE ]
For Bruce Wayne/Batman the normal man is the true nature and the hero is the affectation while for Clark Kent/Superman the normal man is the act and the hero persona is his true self.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've always seen it as just the opposite. At least, that's how the DCAU characterizes them, so that's good enough for me.
