Quote:Newer thinking like ancilliary pools you can't respec out of?I'm more for just making both sides as equivalent as possible. If CoV represents the "newer thinking" as far as being an evolution from the older CoH then it would seem at some point the Devs decided that having more badge unlocks was a good thing. I favor the idea because it gives us more goals to play for.
All I'd ditch is the LRSF requirement, though. -
Give VS a second attack that has a small chain lightning effect. Problem solved?

As a fan of both So Damn Awesome Man and Revolver Ocelot, I say yes.
-
I originally thought that Veteran's Reveal was going to be a permanent Power Analyzer.
-
Whenever someone sends out an overly-specific request, I send a tell asking to join on the most opposite to their wanted character I can come up with. Too bad most of them never bother to play along past a simple "sry no".

Like I said, a single texture piece (we're not even talking a cool armored bit, literally JUST pants) costs twice as much as a weapon with an aura effect. Even conservative scale-backs would appease me, just to clean up some of the outliers. I used to have a suggested list, but I'm not sure I still have it.
Quote:I'm guessing that running through the RWZ arcs, you probably spent most of it solo? On a good team, you still net a good sum of merits, nowehere near what a Mothership raid will net you, of course.
Quote:I think that the solution here is not to lower the price of the items, but to increase the rate at which you gain merits inside RWZ missions. Because if they lower the price of the costume items, then people will still complain about the price of the Heavy, or the salvage bag.
Quote:If they lower the price of everything, a couple of good Mothership raids will net you -everything-, leaving nothing for you to do with your merits, other than buy the temp powers when they run out again. -
Quote:Characters will dive/rise, but it's controlled by the mouse/camera and not jump/descend.Yes, I tried that OTHER game over yonder, and while I have no plans for switching over, I have to admit, I was impressed with their version of Flight. What impressed me the most was how right it felt. When you go down or up, your entire character faces up and down too without having to rely on the mouse. In contrast, in CoV, our characters stay in the same plane while going up and down (i.e., they don't dive or turn up accordingly).

Quote:Also just getting another contact in the same range up to the first level of trust will usually get them to give up any contacts you don't already have. After finishing a bank mission, the detective will introduce you to contacts. It may not have the contact you want, but its another way to get an active contact in your level range.
Though it definitely sounds like Buck is the answer here. -
Quote:And that's why. The merit gain you get from Ship Raids is massive compared to what you get normally. I ran through all of the RWZ arcs and got about 200 merits total. You can get that many in one ship raid, if not more.As for Vanguard costume items.. I don't feel they cost that much, my illusion controller had every piece she needed by around 45, without even really trying. I went on a few Mothership raids, mostly because I enjoy them.. *shrug*
Also keep in mind that we still have absurd things like the Vanguard pants, that cost 200 merits - a simple hip texture piece and at double the cost of any of the Talsorian weapons! -
Banking unlocks...I like that idea.
Though, being the originator of the thread mentioned in the OP, I'll repeat that Vanguard costume piece costs need to be significantly reduced either way. -

Doesn't Guild Wars allow you to re-do your powers/stats whenever you're in a town?
Of course why this turned into an argument of precedent I'm not quite sure. -
The only two things that are invisible to the entire team (at least, as much as I can recall) are the text displayed upon returning to the contact and global messages such as Boss Defeated Text.
Clicking the "!" starburst in the nav window (or the More button on the mission list) will give you the full contact dialogue for the start of the mission.
That said, I would like them to find a way to make the return dialogue visible and the global messages both more noticeable and team-wide. -
I will admit, I actually like that solution a lot. On the other hand, I also still don't think it's necessary.
-
Go take a look, guys. The official list is up on the Test boards.

Quote:How they would reconcile Patron Pools is what prevents me from believing it's a possibility.Yes, but perhaps the rest wasn't finished yet then and/or they want to save some surprises for articles such as this one and open beta. I'm still cautiously optimistic.
Also, Re: No Bosses option - I read that to mean "Bosses spawn as Lieutenants" similar to the option to spawn AVs as EBs, but I could very well be wrong. I also wouldn't at all be surprised if it was nullified by the team size slider. -
Don't get too excited. Until otherwise clarified, it was most likely a flub by the writer of the article, since the previous article by Castle only mentioned Pyre Mastery for Scrappers.

Quote:Spy Mastery.I'd go for some other patrons that touch on aspects of Arachnos not included by teh_fore. Kalinda's Fortune Mastery would be a good one. Or Dr. Aeon's Time Mastery would be fun... Viridian's Extortion Mastery?
And actually, those are all great ideas. Just need a fourth to round them out. -
You're not meant to be able to pick all five powers. This game needs more choices like that, not fewer.
-
More ways to plan and test your build without having to consult Mids or the Test Server is a good thing, and it's one of the few nice ideas I've actually heard about that mysterious game.

Quote:While I do like the core idea, it has the unfortunate potential for a lot of overlap. Leviathan Mastery would apply to both Mako and Barracuda, so I'm not sure what you could really do there. And Ice Mistral's pool would overlap slightly with Leviathan due to its handful of ice powers. It does seem like this is a misunderstanding, although it would be awesome to see more Patrons. Silver Mantis and Barracuda are already contacts, so they could just add another arc to them (although I don't know if the game differentiates from TF contacts and regular contacts, would be a shame if that were a limiting factor). If they couldn't add content to the SF contacts, they could just add it to that character's Patron (Black Scorpion and Mako, respectively); in this way, the villain Patrons could have branching pools, allowing you to do Black Scorpion's arc and choose either Mace Mastery or Crazy Kinky Spike Mastery.

While I'm not entirely sure if it's proven canon, it's not a big stretch to assume the Zig utilizes power-dampening technology.
