I'm against anything that elevates particular players above the rest, and gives them greater control over the game. (Outside of them being outright hired, of course.)
If they're planning on revamping old content, then I'd rather they handle it themselves, and extensively listen to everyone's feedback, like they did with the 5th Column TFs. -
Quote:Well, catsuits are generally what counts as "stealth" so it works.I don't know about Ulterior (I thought that's what the pic was, but I seem to have been wrong), but I can definitely tell you that Enforcer and ExoProto are nothing alike. Enforcer has interlocking metal plates that are actually shiny (and will no doubt be reflecting, come Going Rogue) whereas ExoProto has overlapping, ornate plates held together with belts and clips for a much less "plate armour" look and a much more "stealth suit" appearance. Ironically, the actual Stealth set doesn't look like a stealth suit at all, but rather a lot more like a cat suit. Personally, I used the ExoProto to replace my old Buckled Leather costume to replicate that Solid Snake look I've been aiming for since 2004.
ExoProto to me looks bio-tech. Not so much belts and clips as sinew-ish looking things.
Quote:I've not tried Vanguard yet because of its cost, and if Ulterior looks like anything, it looks the most like Justice, which together look more like embossed leather than layered armour, to be honest, and Sinister's "stitched leather" is an actually unique concept in the game, with only the "rough patches fur" set from 2004 coming anywhere close.
Quote:Really, though, not liking them is fine, as long as you accept that some people DO like them and enjoy the variety they present.
Quote:Either way, I'd have to see a full suit of this with its corresponding pattern to judge whether or not it's good. I used to think Ulterior was pretty bad just based on browsing through it in the editor, but seeing what people have done with it, I changed my mind. -
Quote:Except that we don't. Out of the pieces you mentioned, only Ulterior (and perhaps Enforcer in regards to layout) is anything like this. Not to mention that for all we know it could be an NPC costume piece.Every issue or so we get a boring new armor layer pattern just like that. I'd like to see some different new costume options. Why does it matter if it is released or not? I see a picture of a new armor set, I give my opinion. Am I not allowed to express my opinion? Or only if it's positive? I don't think I was particularly harsh, it's just not my cup of tea.

Quote:Woah, flashbacks to the Goosebumps PC game.Raising the same question over and over again does not necessarily "motivate the vendor" to do anything. Should I keep complaining to my bank and the ATM manufacturer that I can't play classic Battlezone on their ATM? It's likely possible - simple screen, it's got a computer built in, buttons that can take left and right (and fire) input, so why shouldn't they do it if I keep nagging them? The program itself is ancient, and probably wouldn't take more than a few kb of space.
So I should keep nagging them about this, right? Keeping the vendor motivated and all that? -
A large majority of the unlockable weapons are those that already existed across the villain groups and therefore had a reason to be unlockable.
If any new weapons aren't used by some new faction (such as the Praetorian Police force), I'd rather they be available from the get-go. -

Hacking CoH is actually quite easy...as long as all you're looking to do is change textures or sounds...

Quote:And give him a second, chain-lightning style attack.Hands off my Dark Extraction. I likes my multiple fluffies. No to perma-fluffies.
Sparky isn't really a pet, he's more like a moving Lightning Cloud. He's not targetable and can't be killed can he, he just transfers aggro across to you. Even FFG and Acid Mortar from Traps are more pet-like. That said I don't see much of a reason not to quadruple his Life Span & recharge time just to make him less frustrating. -

The large majority of pets ARE perma.
Voltaic Sentinel being an annoying power is just Voltaic Sentinel being an annoying power. -
Quote:And considering that it lasts for quite some time and also doesn't make a lick of sense...So -40% resistance is considered a huge power.
Why do Paragon Police have a -40% defense power? On AOE.
Isn't that insanely overkill?
(We're talking about Flashbang Grenades, for those unaware.) -
Something important to note is that in my experience it only tends to happens with enemies who completely vanish upon defeat, ie, Circle Ghosts, etc. Otherwise they just get corpse-shot.
-
I like the core concept (especially if the puppets are creepy), but a MM with both a built-in Confuse and Hold sounds overpowered. I can solo my Mind Dom with just those two powers, plus my attacks.
-
This cliche is one of my biggest pet peeves with a large majority of MMO/RPGs. Either you're slaughtering wild animals for dubious reasons (and worse still, usually as a dedicated quest), or fighting animals nobody has any place fighting (ah, the joys of Korean MMOs - deadly snails, caterpillars, and tree stumps!).
I've always thought CoH's starting point worked very well, since it's very DC. Superman might be a godlike being, but even he stops the occasional bank robbery, and not to mention freakin' Batman. I think that might actually be a rather interesting way of summing up the difference between CoH and CO, in fact, especially since the ghosts of MUO are very blatant in CO... -
Quote:It's not about adding objects to maps, it's about coding the actual physical interaction between the player character, their collision cylinder, and a map object. The game engine was never built with this in mind.Well yes there are those characters that can focus their energies or willpower for temporary feats of superhuman strength. As for it being too late int the game for such a feature, I don't see why there coundn't be a few more creates in a warehouse, an extra few desk or bookshelves in an office, or a few cars in the elevated garage in out door maps. There wouldn't be a need to redo these maps from the ground up, but add the objects on top of them, but I am no coder, so I make no assumptions as to the difficulty of doing so.

Honestly, considering that Plant Control already gets three summon type powers, this wouldn't be my preferred choice for a new MM set.
-
I was sad to see that this set wasn't just nine different versions of the Flurry/Shadow Maul animation.
Honestly, a way of doing something like this in the engine is exactly that - powers the produce localized shadow limbs and the like. With the bonus that it can be both a form of Replication Melee and Speed Melee. -
Pretty much this. A reworking of how the Physique slider works, perhaps. Muscular females are not wildly different enough from just plain normal females to require an entirely new model, and the effect could be simply achieved through a combination of the slider and some texture work.

Quote:I am, in fact, going to wave my "age limit finger" at you, since there's a big difference between implication in plain text ("Go 'Eliminate' this guy") and graphical violence (what you described). CoX is rated T for Teen whereas Age of Conan is M for Mature.EDIT: Blood flying, I want it. Blood and murder and such is mentioned all the time in the game so don't you wave your age limit finger at me about the age thing, lmao. Back when I played Age of conan, fatalities were triggered and everything at the end of a combo, kinda like dual blades these days.

Quote:I've always been under the impression that this is due to the fact that Defenders (and Corruptors, to a slightly less extent) do less damage for the same amount of endurance compared to Blasters. I'm probably half-daft for suggesting it, but I've always thought that they should have equally lower endurance costs for their lower damage. In my opinion, almost across the board, endurance costs are excessive. Defenders suffer more than most. My FF/Nrg Defender typically has to rest in the middle of any fight (eg. Defeat a minion, rest, defeat a minion, rest, defeat a minion, rest, defeat a minion, rest, wear the Lieutenant to around 20% health, rest, defea the leiutenant). It's ludicrous. I can't imagine what it must be like for Defenders without PFF.
It amounts to this: The devs have a strange notion of what's FUN if they think standing around unable to act because you have no endurance is fun. To me, it's just frustrating, and is among the main reasons I constantly consider leaving this game.
It also makes sets that are even worse performance-wise, like AR, Radiation, and Dark, all the more painful to play. And yes, I have an AR/Sonic. Pity me. -
I mostly meant in terms of radius - you don't debuff significantly more or less (I think it's less due to clipping, though) with SD. But good point.
-
Yes, this. There's no reason for SD to cost the same as EF when it does less and its effective range is about as equivalent (ie, there's no major advantage of it being ally toggled versus enemy toggled).

Quote:It still bugs me that the name on the Hazard Zone gate is "Crey's Folly" and not "Venice". I think Boomtown/Baumton has the same problem.Crey definitely has powerful legal, and possibly media control. There's a whole zone gone toxic wasteland thanks to Crey and folks knew the truth enough to call it Crey's Folly. Despite this, Crey still exists and is even considered "friendly" by most? Definitely information control.

Are you sure you're actually missing? There's a bug at the moment that causes Sleeps/Holds to display as if they were Stuns, IIRC.
